#151

Hello, I'm having a problem with the HRP, I can't seem to make the 3D models work, I only see sprites :-o... I don't really know why and didn't see post of people having problem so I guess I must be doing something wrong =/..
Here are my logs after playing the first level, if anyone can help me out please!

The HRP isn't loaded. You need to have polymer_hrp.zip (or similar) in the autoload folder (C:/Duke3D/autoload in your case) and check 'Enable "autoload" folder' in the startup screen.

I was able to install the HRP with polymer effects, however when i try to start it up it says a error keeps and stops it from starting. Is there a patched version for windows 7, or is it something else?

Notice how the guys above you posted their eduke32.log file, and then people were able to help them?

Be prepared for more like this. I think we might get lots of new people just hearing about Duke for the first time from all the media on DNF. So now there gonna check out D3D in the meantime. This fella probably don't even know there's a Eduke32.log file sitting in his folder. "So help me Duke!"

The 3rd is impossible to fix in terms of textures and defs manipulations, the rest are fixed - sync with polymer svn.

A little more.
This picture on 2nd screen is broken in many places, not only here.
Is it possible to move health bottles near globe that they didn't stuck in model?

IIRC, Polymer only allows one skybox per map, so if there is more than one skybox used in Area 51, that would explain it.

Isn't it just the "motion blur" effect that the game applies to it that spawns like ten copies in the same spot?

there's a bug w/ the latest release and svn build of the eduke launcher in win7 (64 bit at least).

Attached Image: cantscroll.png

can't check the use autoload, set the custom directories, etc. of course, you CAN, but you're blind to what you're doing. you'll probably get a lot of "hrp not working!" problems w/ this. took me a couple of hours to stumble onto checking the invisible enable autoload dir box.

That is quite an old issue and has something to do with the size you have your font set to.

Yeah, if you increase text size in Windows, then the eduke startup screen is screwed. Its a shame, really, because otherwise I would use a larger text size.

Now I figured out what bugs me about the RPG model. In widescreen mode at least, the model is on the right side of the screen as opposed to centred, and the RPG is pointing towards the middle. Now it looks like Duke's left hand is placed all the way on the right of the screen with the model AND it looks like he's twisting his wrist to the point where it looks like his left and is actually his right hand, otherwise that would be an extremely awkward/uncomfortable/almost painful way to hold anything. Hopefully if you fire up eduke32 you'll see what I mean. Has anyone else noticed this and is bothered by it?

Edit: Just to clarify I think it's a great model, just that perhaps it could be more centered or something.

Always compare your suggestion with non-highres behavior beforehand. In widescreen mode, TX set it up so that the HUD weapons are drawn relative to the right side of the screen because just about every weapon ever (both in the original and in mods) is sloppily cut off on the right side, so placement in the center would look quite ugly.

There may be a way to fix the RPG, such as addang or nodepth, or separate widescreen definitions like in SWP.

Just installed a fresh Duke Nukem 3D and installed HRP. After playing a bit I go back out and get Polymer installed and I have the 3d models no longer loading for enemies and other things. Any ideas?

You can't have both HRPs at the same time. (Should have been obvious in the log)
- [Re]move F:/duke3d/autoload/DUKE3D.GRP/
- Do not choose autoload as custom game content directory in the startup window. Leave that empty unless you play DukePlus or Attrition.

You mean the HUD (Heads Up Display) is missing. Chances are that it's just too 'zoomed out'. The - and + buttons, or - and = in most cases, control the size of the HUD. Something like the HRP, which only replaces graphics wouldn't do something like remove the HUD when it doesn't change any coding, especially since no one else is reporting the problem.Try pressing the - button and see if that solves the issue.
