Use pastebin for the log.

What are your graphical settings? Do you have texture caching and compression on? What resolution are you trying to run at? Etc.

Do we have to have a new thread every time someone has HRP performance issues?

What about filtering? Also did you turn on texture caching?

I see you're also using Duke Plus.

I have two suggestion for testing:

First create a new folder with nothing but the required files for duke (which amounts to duke3d.grp) and the Eduke32 executable(s). Run this and see if everything works okay.

Then make sure you set your video to 8 bit software mode and import your cfg over to your non-working installation and see if you can get it to start up at all.

Try running in a slightly lower resolution, like 1152x864 or 1024x678, and see if that makes a performance difference.

That's a great "fix" if you plan to never upgrade your HRP again.

Erm.... the first suggestion should have worked. If it didn't then that means you have broken GRP or a broken EXE. Or just a broken computer. Or it means you didn't actually follow my directions and test Duke3D with only the required files and none of the HRP/Duke Plus files or any other mods.

Any solution? Maybe this textures/models doesn't included in this update...

There isn't an official 4.1 update, unless you downloaded a cvs build.

There are few errors with Naferia HRP 1.4.1, but they are not of importance because the models/textures that failed to load from Naferia HRP, are loaded from official HRP 4.0

If you use the 4.0 HRP, get rid of the update zip file and only use the hrp zip file (and maphacks and music zips)--or else the update file will put stuff in the .def files that don't correspond to existing models. At least that's the problem I had.

Problem solveded, my version was outdated, i re-download the HRP and now have the REAL "HRP 4.0" and the "4.1" update works too.

This is not the official HRP update 4.1. It's probably a cvs build. It may though if there are no other additions to be released as official release.

I have decided to upload my local update pack copy to the place where you could get previous versions in order to have a backup in the worst-case scenario of a hard disk failure. As long as the file is NOT listed on my site, it is not official and usage is without support. Anyway, what is currently included is hardly worth noticing, and you will have a really hard time spotting the differences compared to v4.0.

I seem to be having a problem with the Hi-res music. It keeps playing the MIDI versions and not the OGGs. I used the HRP 4.0 installer. I'm on Vista x64 (for once I DON'T think this is the problem) and as I said I'm using the latest version of the HRP installer (the EXE not the ZIP version).
