I think that sometimes is quite annoying to avoid and "save" ammo on purpose, then you step on them for mistake during a battle or whatever .
Btw, is there a different "reward" about ending War of Attrition on "Damn I'm Good" rather than "Come Get Some"? (aside the crazy difficulty , i'm so "lucky" i've got Hotel Hell as first map on the max skill lol)
Also, haven't tested it properly but maybe the sharks (or some of them) become invicible after they got frozen.

but then again, it is easier to demand features to allow for sloppy play instead of having in-game situational awareness
probably be simpler to code it so the player doesn't grab ammo at all unless they have room for the entire pick-up

I mean, I already do that to an almost paranoid degree. I'm all for accounting that player-wise, which it has been done like, and that's fine. It's not so much an error prevention so much as it is a matter of convenience, at least in my opinion. Sometimes it's nice to just top off your ammo if you're not entirely certain you'll be coming back or not. If you know you won't, then of course picking it up doesn't matter. But if you're not sure, it's sort of a 50/50 guess on whether you'll be able to return to it later on.
Again, it's more a matter of convenience in my eyes. I can live without it and have been since I started playing 20 years ago. If the AA team wants to add it, cool. If they don't, also cool. I just threw out a potential suggestion to get around the problem Dan described. It might not even be good enough in his eyes, which is perfectly fair. I just threw it out there as a possibility. It's up to them what to do with it after that point.

My bad if i asked, we can just save and load before and after a battle to prevent this, as was done for a life so far .
Nice to get a reply sometime

I don't want to discourage suggestions, but some suggestions are kinda excessive and unnecessary.
Having the game manage stuff the player should be managing falls into that category

Do you plan to add another official addons for DN3D? Nuclear Winter, released for free addons on 3d Realms site, cutted levels of Levelord.
Also, don't you plan to redo original campaign to expand it and make more fun? Something like Quake 1.5 mod did for original maps of Quake 1.

The effort that it'd take to get NW up to an acceptable standard would be better spent on new content IMO (or revamping Penthouse Paradise)

BTW the AA Discord actually has a pinned message about the Nuclear Winter expansion because apparently the question gets asked so often
#1642 Posted 11 August 2021 - 07:52 PM
We are working on something brand new that everyone should be way more excited about than any existing expansion.

What am I going to do with all this confetti, pointy hats, party favors whistles, and the flaming bag of dog poo?

My favorite discord post is a response to my explanation of how many months it would take to basically rebuild and revamps the NW maps to get them acceptable to be put in AA (about the same amount of time it would take to make a new winter themed episode from scratch):
I was told to lower my standards.

Speaking of the ERP, no the ERP will not work with AA or anything more ambitious than a map pack really.

I see DN: AA as analogue of Brutal Doom for Doom 1-2 series, and in case of AA, it would be cool to see someday revamped/remastered versions of other "official" D3ND content. Rework of Duke it out in DC was great. I considered it worst mission pack for DN3D ever, but right now its quiet good. I would love to see the same work for restoring Nuclear Winter to its glory.
Btw, we are all waiting for new single player content in AA)

Worst mission pack for DN3D ever? Have you played Duke! Zone 2, X-treme, Nuclear Winter? Duke It Out in DC is ok, but compare to the "expansion" i've mentioned is the greatest addon ever

It's also hard as balls but with Dan at the helm that's to be expected. Not that I'm complaining. Far from. The sharp difficulty increase ensures there's never a dull moment.
