Community Confessions "OK, let's get this straight"
#1 Posted 06 February 2016 - 02:19 AM
With the exception of Canyon and Bad Weekend, I've never played in any maps by Mister Sinster. I remember the days when his maps were bad and noobish, and now he's a much better mapper than I am. I guess I even a little bit jelaous. But he stopped talking to me about 5 years ago (which is a shame, since we both russians), and he didn't comment on my maps, so I don't comment his work in answer. But I'm always ready to shake hands.
Do you have any confessions?

Like the best virtual pinball game....
That's why my name is Balls Of Steel Forever.
not directly because of the Duke Nukem franchise,
although, I really enjoy the Duke Nukem games also.
which is why I signed up for this forum.
(along with it's small and reliant population size, compared to something like reddit,
and the fact that I lurked here for years)

My personal confession is I been working on my Turok3 map for Duke since November 2014 hehe but I still plan to release it. Its just I am working with the actual Turok editor now and I want the same level of comfort I have in Duke mapping there.

1. I wish I had Snowfall's mapping skill and imagination. That guy can sure churn out some large immersive maps. Even his character mostly has better weapons than mine in the AMC TC.
2. I hate corners.

shouldn't you be giving him a boomerang and a didgeridoo instead?
though I confess that the pouch would probably be handy for carrying extra ammo

-I've never finished any map I started
-I've said it before but I hate Quake. Especially 1 and 4. 2 is alright but gets boring quick.
-Also not that fond of Doom
-I like Doom 3
-I hate multiplayer only games. Even if the multiplayer is fun, I resent it for not even bothering with a proper SP campaign.
-Except for Counter-Strike
-I like linearity
-I like FPS platform puzzles
-I enjoyed DNF for what it was, even if it was a little disappointing in its total lack of features
-Not sure if this will have any effect on this community, but I think both Oblivion and Skyrim are better than Morrowind

I haven't played any of them but I know you might get looked down by oldschool RPG fans (morrowind is seen by some as the apogee of the series).
I've played Fallout 3 though... and hated the crap out of it - broken mechanics and boring ugly places everywhere, meaningless dialog and consequences, and stupid as fuck combat system (four grenades on top of ten bullets to kill a fucking ant, fuck this bullshit).

Sorry, this is very difficult to admit here.
I very nearly put a sprite into a level that I was working on.
Mark called an intervention and he managed to eventually talk me out of it.
I feel so dirty...

-I haven't played user maps in about 2 years (apart from Planet X64 II or whatever its name was - I liked it)
-Every time I think about DN3D level design I overestimate it...
-The reason REDUKED "2014" hasn't been released is a mixture of anti professionalism, procrastination, real life excuses, nick-picking, another stupid reason like: it doesn't have a proper cover artwork and a bit of depression...
-REDUKED 2014 or any related album with a name on those lines isn't gonna be released soon, not that it would be released ever...
-REDUKED 2010 - 2016 tracks are already being released publicy while you read this via soundcloud (yeah with download links) An album???? What's this 2010??? I won't make a thread about it until I finish uploading most of the tracks.
-I'm still depressed. LOL.
-I'm working with a new TC that I'm still not sure if it will be released... ever.
-I'm not sure if feeling bad or lucky to be the only mexican active mapper in this community... Prove me wrong...
