At first glance I thought this was a key from Dark Forces.

Hello all,
Nice work, looks like a Tyranids gun from Warhammer 40.000 to me.
I check the topic each day and I have seen quite cool stuff here. Remind me that I have to play some released maps... ^^
Bye

I wanted to go for a challenge with some restrictions but... I think I can finish it in the mid October, however the map (may be the first part) is going to be very short.

Didn't you already made a model for the CE not too long ago? It's obvious you're trying to capture the look of the original, but what for?
Btw I just noticed this, but it looks like the Cycloid Emperor has some massive gum recession haha.

I kept looking at the sprite for the Cycloid and the model shots of Chuck Jone's effort and I just had a hankering to make one. I made a more re-imagined looking Cycloid for another project a few years ago. I'm just doing this one for fun as I always liked the original design. The 'brief' for this one is to make something much more like the original sprite/model.
If people want, I can make a new thread for this and get some feedback.

Looks promising! Always good to see sci-fi style maps. Like the colors allot!

I don't know if you are modelling right above the sprite as reference or if that's your objective but it looks like the head/jaws should be bigger.

I'll re position him and get some screens to check.

There will still be a option to combine with PC tiles.
#7374 Posted 03 October 2016 - 12:35 PM
That'll be cool.

I do not like long maps and I also do not want to get tired and put this map on a shelf for a long time.

For fun I also decided to add the Super Pig in a dress as well.
Although I might not add the Super Pig in a dress in any of my future levels. This was just something I decided to do just for fun. (Since I already have the Super Zombie Pigcop from Dawn of the Pork)

very WIP shot of some space station themed shit that I guess I officially started working on earlier this week. I feel like a lot of space/lunar maps for DN3D borrow the aesthetic from Tiberius Station and Space Port, generally using clean, brighter looking textures. SO when I landed on a space setting, I decided to use darker, dirtier looking textures and decor to create this aesthetic of overuse and abandon. Mostly satisfied with it so far, though I know I'm going to have to involve more ports and skylights if I really want the "space" part to be convincing.
