Thanks, there isn't anything tricky going on here, so it was pretty straight forward ;)

I was actually thinking it lacked detail, but I wasn't too concerned because of its size.

It still needs some screws, and some form of mount.

Now that you mention it yeah. I was mesmerized by the lense piece I guessPosted Image

Wow

By the bye, I know is in progress but I think the lens should have also in left, right and down the word secucam like the original

I think the grey is just to show where the lens is on the original sprite.

I'm not very good at organic objects, but I will do some soon :P I was planning on practicing organic modeling on the slime babe.

Did anybody notice the slimebabe in Rage?

I think there needs to be a red light on it too so we know its functional and not just a toy. lol

You definately need more lunch breaks! How do you make a low-poly of it?

I wish the day was one long lunch break! I usually model on top of it, some times I will make a low poly from a high poly for harder shapes, but it doesn't always give the best results.

Here is the finished hydrant:

Sorry its not something new. I'm trying to wrap up the models that aren't finished yet.

I have re-uv'd and textured the hydrant, as there was a lot of wasted space in the old map and I wasn't very pleased with the texture.

I have also included the broken hydrant.

Steve ;)

Yeah, you have like 10(?) models in the works right now so it's good you managed to finish this one before starting another one.

Here is the new Large Medkit and Portable Medkit.

The large medkit is a completely different model to the one previously uploaded.

The small medkit isn't included, I will be doing this at a later date.

Enjoy

Really nice work, Steveeeie. Now for the inevitable nitpicking:

Besides that you chose the wrong manufacturer ;) , after destroying the hydrant, the broken model clips into the ground, at least in E1L1, E1L2. Maybe the model's origin needs to be moved.

Though looking great, dropping the symmetry of the first aid kit is a bit problematic: It forces all maphacks to be revised, because they were made assuming that both sides look the same. (Especially my user map maphacks are affected, but some regular game maps appear to have this issue as well.) And the majority of maps, which will never be maphacked, might contain hard to spot first aid kits forever.
Attached Image: E4L6-0053_firstaid-onesided.jpg
I'd appreciate if you would make the kit recognisable from the back side, too.

And I think we need some more wooden textures from your tree :P :

Ok I can do that but it will take a while, it will need to go back to high poly phase.

I'll look into this once I finish some of the models, there are a few wood textures I'm looking at replacing. :P

But it do make sense that the Medkit is labeled from only one side. It's nowhere to be as problematic as, say, all weapon sprites.

I often wondered what the original artists used for references. Is there a list somewhere? Sometimes it's hard to tell what a 24 pixel tall object is :P

Oh and Steveeeie your model work is excellent. I can't believe the pace you crank things out.

Yes, it does, but I think that HRP-real-life outweighs that.

I disagree on this one. Completely different colours on each side are more obvious than, say, an RPG handle pointing into the wrong direction. Steveeeie, I won't be after you for not changing this ASAP, but you should keep it on your list somewhere. :P

There used to be a "HRP to-do list" on someone's homepage, it was a nifty PHP thing with all ART tiles with green or red background depending if they had been remade or not. I think at some point it stopped being updated and we used a wiki to summarize what was left to be done instead. These days I think pretty much everything is remade, it's just a matter of starting to replace stuff that doesn't look as good as it could.

I think that the focus on making highres replacament for all tiles was a bad decision. Emphasis has been put in quantity instead of quality, as a result several textures or models don't serve the purpose of enhancing the game. Besides everything has been made by independent users, so the surfaces don't fit together (i.e. each alien texture with it's own tone of green). The inclusion of new engine features such as Polymer half-way doesn't help.

Not sure if there is any pratical difference in the Small Medkit (perhaps the color), but the Portable Medkit has some discrepancies, especially the big red cross.
