stuck again in FM3X10. the hint file says that i enter the teleporter and solve the switch puzzle, but i can't find any switches. am i missing something obvious?

the shrinker is supposed to reach across rooms, right? you don't have enough time while shrunk to run through all the rooms, unless i'm missing something. could someone double check?

You have to do switch puzzles in each room in order to let the shrinker pass into it so you can move on to the next one.

If you've done that and the shrink blast is hitting the wall below it, allow me to welcome you to the single most broken aspect of current eduke32 revisions.

AFAIK shrinker projectiles behaviour was changed after r7395, which is probably the last version before the major clipping behaviour changes. Now the projectiles seem to require more space/larger holes to fit through and also how they reflect from mirrors seems to have been slightly altered. This has made one of the puzzles in Naked Dash a bit more difficult (at least that's what Mister Sinister told me), but also produced showstoppers in a bunch of maps using more complex effects, from the top of my head I can confirm The Last Pissed Time by Lezing and Riverside Town by High Treason being impossible to complete in the newer versions.

well. that's a bummer.

worth pointing out that i had similar issues with DukeVR's shrinker puzzles that i managed to break somehow. i forgot how i did it.

Urban Pack: can't fit through this vent shaft in acbstudios.map. Is it intentional?

Edit2: looks like this acbstudios.map doesn't have proper end. Can somebody else check if it's beatable?

Yeah well, it probably won't be as hard to get through those maps as it was with Oblivion. At least Zaxtor's cryptic design elements are absent here.

can confirm this is the case. going back to r7395 completely fixed the shrinker issue in FM3X10

edit: can anyone double check to see if exiting FM3X06 always brings you to FM3X11 instead of FM3X07? this is on r7395

If you know what you are doing, you can open FM3X06 in Mapster32, look for sprite tile #142 (nukebutton) and check if the settings on the nukebutton(s) are correct. Lotag (second number) is the level number, e.g. (0,6) for level 6 or (0,11) for level 11.

Can't do it by myself until tomorrow, but it'd be a pretty big thing to miss for Fernando in his map, so I don't expect to find any mistake there.

Checked now, nukebutton in FM3X06 has a lotag of -1. That should normally not cause a problem unless the port can't handle it for some reason. Besides, it was also done like that in other levels.

Wait... are you loading the level from within the episode or via user maps? If you do the latter, EDuke32 may not know which level is supposed to be next... I think.

Often the nukebuttons have lotags on them which actually are the number of the next map to load. However, if it's -1, 32767, 65534 or 65535 for example, it's more like "load the next map after this one".

I dunno why it's map 11 in this case, but it's understandable why it doesn't got to the correct next map afterwards if it's loaded from the user maps menu.

yeah, playing the entire episode was fine. i guess the user map thing just confused it. weird though, because going from loopy shelter to ghost house worked fine?

having a little trouble in FM4X07 (fun fair), the elevator puzzle in the shooting gallery. im following the directions in the hint guide, but i don't think i'm doing it right. do i want all the colors to be green or orange/red? or a mixture of both?

Another "issue" with Urban Pack: you can kill this big guy right at the beginning of domino.map and thus "beat" the map without actually walking through it. Not a showstopper though...
