What people were responding positively to (especially 2006 and earlier when there was still a lot of churn happening) were all the parts that could be seen as being capable of coming together into something exceptional. Parts that were unheard of elsewhere in the shooter world thus far. Everyone (myself included) were taking it a bit on faith that the project as a whole would be put together to the same standard as all the other top tier games, and these parts alone were enough to push it into something truly special. That never happened. At any point. Lesson learned on my end for sure.
A device can have all the right parts, but if they are put together haphazardly or without a solid meaningful vision of how everything fits together... the machine will fall apart quickly.
It is tragic... but virtually everyone who was associated with it who helped put together all those pieces have moved on to do great work elsewhere.
Barring total collapse of society... my career has barely begun.

This "Official" Facebook page is crap, I think.
DN:CM is part of the Duke Nukem Trilogy,
so here's a better page to look at:
https://www.facebook...ukeNukemTrilogy
In the "Cover Art/Logos" section there you can find some really good stuff!
A hires Apogee logo, a hires Duke Nukem logo with Duke's head in the middle,
a hires Duke Nukem Trilogy logo, two hires versions of only the Trilogy logo,
and two different versions of the XBLA radiation logo.
And also take a look at the "Art/Renders" album.
Here you can find an old version of the DN:CM logo: (with black background)
(And the logos of the other two Duke Nukem Trilogy games)

Here is a hires Version of the new DN:CM logo: (with white background)

Here is the clean render of the DN:CM cover art: (by Kurt Miller)

And here you can buy a hires print version of it:

Here is a pic with different Duke renderings: (also done by Kurt Miller)

Here is the DN:CM radiation logo with a resolution of 1000x1000 pixels:

Mass Destruction is not one of the Trilogy games, which are Critical Mass, Chain Reaction, and Proving Grounds.
Otherwise, there is a lot of good stuff in your links.

Edit: And I'm replying to Besli, but Hendricks beat me to it.

Sure the one in the Trilogy is Critical Mass, not Mass Destruction.
Sorry!

The last lawsuit between the two lasted months.
Although I have noticed that Interceptor have said they have good confidence that they acted within reason but they seemed to have also picked up work again on Rise of the Triad 1.4 pretty quickly...

The 3D Realms statement is as follows:
Quote
"It is our position that 3DR retains the right to develop the tentatively titled "Duke Nukem Survivor" game for specific platforms. This game was previously licensed for development to Interceptor Entertainment. Furthermore, it is our position that the Trademark for "Duke Nukem" was never assigned to Gearbox, but remains the sole property of 3DR."
Duke Nukem Survivor appears to be the same project as Duke Nukem: Mass Destruction. Polygon has contacted 3D Realms for clarification.
Interceptor Entertainment added a statement:
Quote
"We were extremely excited for our next reveal, but unfortunately due to the actions of Gearbox Software, Interceptor Entertainment decided to put this reveal on hold in respect of their lawsuit. However, 3D Realms and Interceptor Entertainment were rightfully developing our game and as you can imagine we were quite shocked when the accusations by Gearbox arose, as we have always acted within our legal rights. It's unfortunate that Gearbox has shown no intention of finding a peaceful solution with us. We will however continue to work towards a solution."

EDIT: Bah, link is bad. But looking up Duke Nukem on that trademark search website will lead you to two live trademarks, one for DNF, and one for Duke Nukem.
I'm starting to think that there's more going on behind the scenes than just the past Gearbox acquisition of DNF and apparently the Duke Nukem IP and the last couple lawsuits. I known nothing about legal procedures and loopholes/backdoors, etc, but these actions may be simple means to an end for something we don't know about. It seems like 3DR are doing everything they can to get the Duke Nukem IP "back" while Gearbox are trying to keep it safely buried forever. So far it's given the impression that 3DR have no idea what they're doing, but maybe they do. It's not helping their image, though. Perhaps they just didn't know how best to attack this problem legally but the company that bought them out does?

Upvoted him. And I am confused as hell, aswell. But I mean, everyone ''knows'' that Gearbox owns Duke Nukem or what?

Jeez, Miller was spot on about the Duke rights being complicated.

When did he say that? I remember something about it, but if 3D Realms actually mean they OWN the rights for Duke Nukem, they either made the smartest deal in the history or they have some issues, with themselves.

Duke 3D Reloaded was being released for free. It would be like releasing a mod for an engine and getting permission from the right owners otherwise face a possible C&D
