Duke Nukem 3D Steam Community Workshop  "Usersmaps playable on the steam version of Duke3D"

Even if NsA has 1,331 visitors and 714 suscribers I'm temptated to remove it due the new shading tweaks  It looks horrible as hell.

I just posted it on the workshop...

Something similar happened when the new shading system were implemented on EDuke. I'm starting to hate this map again...

Maybe is time to just make a new map and stop looking back...

The new shading is far from perfect or finalised, especially when this problem persists:

Anybody know how long it usually takes for an item to appear in the steam workshop after publishing it so the description and such can be edited?

Like, 1 minute.

Hmm... In that case I believe something is broken as I published via cmdtool some time ago and "cmdtool list" reports 0 files and nothing appears in my workshop.

I'm guessing this is correct?

Apparently the ID should be shorter and start with a 2. So keep uploading until you get an ID that matches that.

Thanks. Just about fully operable now, although the json files are problematic (and I know I'm not the only one with that issue). Nonetheless, I can upload things now and let my work find a broader audience, oh, and I put in a good word for EDuke32 whilst I was at it.

NsA was one of the most fantastic single player maps I've ever played. I really wish you would have made more maps Norvak.

Just put the ogg file in the folder that you used to upload the map (or going to) and make sure it is the same name as the map. Once you have uploaded or updated the map, launch the game and the music should appear in the folder gameroot\music\usermaps.

Yay, the music works great. If anyone has access to public beta check out my map buenos aires explosive, I've made it a LOT more fair to play. No more explosions in your face and it has a better progression. Someone got stuck so I changed the location of the blue keycard. I hope you all like it.

Edit: also there's no puzzle in the lighthouse

Quick question: from what I understand, the maps are strictly tied to user's account, so the map autors have to upload the maps themselves, can't ask a friend to do it and just type in their name when uploading?

They are tied to one's Steam account but you can specify more than one author or contributor to a map like this one http://steamcommunit...s/?id=203212147 for example.

So, what do you guys think : I'd like to upload maps not by me which I believe won't ever be uploaded on Megaton by anyone. I'm thinking of all my favourites Deathmatch maps specifically : Library, Krachtest, DM_Ducts, Courette, Snow, Chuckles, DK3, DaisyII, Alcatrazy. Except from DmDUCTS (geoffrey) none of the authors can be contacted. I guess I can make a group called "Deathmatch maps not made by me" or something and specify whose the author in each map's description.

Geoffrey said his maps are fine as long as his full name isn't used as he doesn't want his name showing up in Google results, lol
This was via Facebook communication.

Edit, whoops I read that wrong and thought you meant you couldn't reach Geoff.

Uploaded a couple of maps today, now thinking about converting A.Dream. I'm not sure if it's okay to upload a map with additional sounds files.

Edit: uploaded a.dream. Works fine!

How can I make the music work properly? Out of 8 uploaded maps, only two play the new music during the gameplay. The rest play dethtoll.

I don't have the answer to your question, but I was thinking just the other day that you should upload Kill City Posted Image

Already done. The music doesn't play, though. This problem takes away half of the fun!

As it's already been said, it has to be .ogg format.
Megaton doesn't play .mid
