Yes, I see what you mean. Joining manually is OK. Disreguard. Still need some Blood, and RR in
the Menu. I want bug you with this anymore. NOT! LOL

No worries. It is planned.
Now you're playing Shadow Warrior too right? I've got to add game type choice for SWP. Requires an update to the server list.
And then I guess the port number of the lists will be changed to something other than problematic 8000.

Next step, SWP may become cross-platform  (ok I know it's a major work and ProAsm you may use Windows only I know, heh)

Good News! I kinda figure you would add Blood, and RR. It just a matter of having the time to
do it. Plus you still have all the stuff your working on for duke mods and TC's.

It would be good to port SWP to LINUX and MAC. I never used MAC, but I have tried
Open SUSE LINUX. Maybe someone should make Malindows OS.

Oh, actually I've meant Blood and maybe some other game (which isn't RR but not mentioning game for now :D).

ProAsm please forgive me for what I've triggered regarding Linux support for SWP
Well I know, or SWP supports Linux one day, or it doesn't. This is how things work.

Here's an alternative implementation I now consider for MOD support:

* Let you create MOD profiles, stored in the DN3D (or SW) MODs directory. For each such profile you'll have to supply a MOD dir.
After setting the MOD dir, you can optionally select files to load (like CONs and GRPs), along with their order of loading.

* However, I've also considered letting you choose files like CONs and GRPs in the source port directory.
Of course these can be used only with the specific source port. This is similar to the loading of demo files for playback.

Version 0.60 has been released. A notable change is the addition of a filter tree, so you can filter the list of rooms by game or source port.
Apart from that, YANG is confirmed to work (again) on Windows 98SE, though you may need to install an MSLU library if it's not already installed. See my web site for details.
There's also a file for Mac OS X users, compiled and packaged by Turrican.

To users like Skulldog who had problems with hosting (unrelated to port forwarding, apparently), I asked Replica to move the server lists to a different port number.
Lets hope it solves the issues...

See the news in the website for more details.

That was long... well, version 0.70 has been released. Thanks to Turrican for the effort.

Skulldog, I know you wanted it... now, thanks to Turrican, there's Blood support!
Yes, it may seem surprising after all this time, but it has happened. All you need is Blood and the DOSBox emulator.

There are also a few UI changes made by Turrican, related to the addition of Blood in some way.

For more details, see the website in my signature.

Thank you Very Very Much!!!!!!!!
Multiplayer works great. Single Player I see uses the -getopt to load a map or level. It does start the map, but it has the multiplayer
score board at the top of screen. It should use the -map command for single player games. -getopt is only for Multiplayer games.
Still I can't get over how well you did multiplayer player for Blood. NY00123, and Turrican are Fantastic.

"Can't commit chnages to yang.cfg, error 5 refused access..."

This sounds weird... check file permissions of %APPDATA%\yang\yang.cfg.
APPDATA is en environment variable translated into an actual path, like C:\Users\ny00123\AppData\Roaming, on Vista.

It has no permission limitation. No problem, I'll modify it manually :o, but there weren't no changes, just path to Blood maps and mods (I don't accept my BLOOD.EXE).

What did you get with C:\Games\Blood and not C:\Blood?

"Unknow/unsupported EXE file for Blood, please reinstall",

What directory did you try first? I had modify yang.cfg manually to use C:\Games\Blood, but with C:\Blood I had no errors
at all, and i did not have to do anything with yang.cfg.

For me it seems to work as expected. /home/ny00123/BLOOD on Linux with Blood shareware :o
And something else for testing...
The right EXE should be input in the right text control.

EDIT: Oh, one more thing. Regarding the -getopt and -map arguments, Turrican has told me
that it's possible to launch user maps in a single player game (which isn't fake multi player).
You should select "Single Player" as the game type.
I'm not sure regarding episode maps, though.

Yes that works. Maps can be selected. Levels can be selected in game. It said Fake Mp game type, but now i know to select
Single player game type and all is good. Thanks again.

Meteos,
I got my Blood in F:\Jeux_DOS\Blood\
So does it work after you set it in yang.cfg?

I have found that Dosbox Duke3d 1.5 atomic gives the same error
no matter what directory you have it in. I tried C:\Games\Duke3d,
and C:\Duke3d.

Shadow Warrior for dosbox works in C:\games\sw or C:\sw no problem.
Blood works in C:\Blood no problem.

And even if you change the Yang.cfg manually, when you make a change,
or add another game in source port setup you get the same error. Then you
have to redo the settings in yang.cfg manually again for Duke3d and Blood
if you have Blood in C:\Games\Blood.

In the YANG FAQ there should now be a relevant question, with file sizes and checksums, prepared by Turrican.
You can check it out in my website, or from YANG itself, by clicking Help -> Frequently Asked Questions.

I guess there is a new checksum for the duke3d.exe's That are from the
new GOG.com version of duke and 3drealms download store version.

And with Blood, the date on the blood.exe file change somehow. maybe when
I copied the blood folder to C:\games\blood. So I just re-installed to that
directory and it works fine without the error when I choose from source port
setup.

I looked at the date of the 3drealms download version of duke3d.exe atomic edition and
it has a date of 2/22/2009, and so does the one from GOG.com's version.

I got Blood 1.0 as CD. When I try to update it to 1.21, it don't want to start, so a friend as packed it for me in a RAR, that works properly... 09/05/2008, why checksum search the date ><"

I don't think it really looks at the date. I was just making a point about the new Duke3d Atomic Edition
at GoG.com would have a newer checksum because it has the No DRM/CD Check versus the Original
CD version, which came out in 1997.

Regarding the GOG.com release of Duke3D (same as the recent download-only 3DR release?),
I've made a few changes, so it should be supported. Lets hope it'd work as expected...

Ok. So, how can I find what's wrong with my EXE? Is there a way to make YANG just generate a TXT about this wrong cheksum? Thanks :o

#116

As I said before, you may compare the file size to the ones in the YANG FAQ.
You may also compare other values (like a CRC32 checksum) using relevant tools.

Size is OK, but can't find a CRC32 finder : the only one that I've found is the ZIP that don't contain the EXE files lol...

Do you know a program that can do it? Only find source code files...

I could find a tool that calculates an MD5SUM so far: http://www.fourmilab.ch/md5/

EDIT: Wait a second... update 1.0 to 1.21? I'm not sure you can do that. Maybe v1.11 of the same game, but not to the game with more levels, I guess.
