Weird because last time I played I lost all of my upgrades at Mikko's mission on Arsia; every single upgrade I had bought was from the base and they did carry over from mission to mission but when I reached Mikko's mission on Aria Months TV I lost all of them, it was the same on Ep1 you would lose all your upgrades when reaching the Snow Base level.
Quite possibly they stay with you until you visit the base again? I'm only guessing though. I mean the first 3 missions of episode 1, and all the china missions in episode 2 are more or less a continuous block.

So, I went to play a user map and I want to change the music using Shift-F5.. Now I've got an ambience track and a music track playing at the same time
Sounds like it might be a problem with the dynamic music system.
Is there a way to research (or acquire) the Lizman Firelaser Gun yet? It's the only temporary weapon I'm still missing...
BTW, where can I get Merlijn's Compound Bow and Micky's Longslide? If I'm not mistaken, those are the two speciality weapons I haven't found yet (aside from the golden shotguns, of course).
Merlijn's bow can be bought with the major Nelson license; Micky's longslide is found in the captain's quarters of the ghost ship (Top floor, the door is locked but the switch to open it is not far) As for the firelaser gun, hit a firelaser lizman with the MIA gun (or 40mm MIA shells)

It was the same on my end: I upgraded Mikko's weaponry while I was playing EDF Missions before going for 'City Under Siege' and the upgrades stayed with me until the start of the Mars mission (I played the Energeia mission with the weaponry still upgraded and I hadn't played as him since 'City Under Siege').
IIRC, I still had all the credits I earned 'till that point. But I'm not sure.
Here are some random videos I made over the course of Episode 2's development. Half of them were quick and nasty attempts at trailers I made that James didn't want out because of spoilers. However enough time has passed that it should be ok to post here unlisted.
Perhaps some people out there might appreciate all the little changes that happened and what was completed back when these videos were made, perhaps not.
This was an attempt at a teaser trailer. Obviously way too many spoilers and other issues. This probably has the most differences from the final version.
Here's a little video I put together for a laugh. It's a teaser trailer that's inspired by Quentin Tarintino's Kill Bill Volume 1. The map is a modified version of the secret Dojo level. Bit of trivia; while it was modified to remove the tree and add the floor, this is actually what the area originally looked like back when I first made it (before James wanted the tree gimmick feature), also inspired by Kill Bill. I recycled the floor idea for the storey with the gong however.
(New post because apparently the forum won't allow more than two media files).
Finally, he's a trailer with audio ripped from the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer in the spirit of the Avengers style trailers I made for Episode 1. Once again lots of spoilers.
I also made a quick-n-nasty release trailer back when Episode 2 came out. And I swear I'll post it if James doesn't come out and make a proper one himself
Soooo... where's the blue keycard in Daikarin's 'A Dark Passage' supposed to be? I've been searching for it like an hour and found nothing. I even discovered the two secret places of the level, lol. Plz help
There's a bizarre bug in that level where the keycard periodically disapears. I have no idea what's causing it, but type 'spawn ACCESSCARD' into the console to proceed.
BTW it might be a tricky question but, How many decoration objects are there in total ?
(the "this'll look good at home" ones)
Hmmm... I'm not sure if I have all of 'em. But these are the ones I have.
Spoiler
James Stanfield

Also, I've found two more items that I've been unable to find in any of the OC rooms or, at least, I've missed them: a skull lamp, found in 'Wet Dream' & a gas lamp, found in 'The Beach'. I think they go to Sang & Zaxtor respectively.
I'd like to take this opportunity to leave some thoughts as well.
- If you leave James' KSG-12 second barrel active when you change characters, the new one won't be able to load alternate shotgun shells.
- I don't know if I missed it, but if you don't include a 'weapons upgrader machine' in Micky's Mars level (the mine, can't remember its name) (or a M16), we won't be able to utilise the HE shells nearby the last area of the map.
- So far, I've found the Book Of Veridi, the Spirit Shawl and the Mako Ring. Do I have all the new artifacts?
- Does the cog found in 'Zeta Base' have any utility? Does the level have a red keycard to open the locked door by the end of the level, or is it just decoration? I don't like the final version of this level... it's confusing as hell and the living Beyonder should have been more important. I know that one of the keycards is found near a book (evidence) that relates its importance, but still...
BTW, what's the best level to keep playing in order to increase the budget? I tend to play 'The Beach' quite a lot: 18~19k/hour.
What do you get from completing the game in Armageddon difficulty?
Those are spot on - the skull lamp should appear in Sang's room and the Lantern should appear in my fish tank there's also a wreath of exotic flowers for Micky's room found in another BCBP secret towards the end.

Hmm, I didn't know there was a cog - that's a fair point about the Beyonder, but not much can be done for now though

Yeah... I found the lantern as soon as you pointed it out, lol. My bad.
Hmmm... I can't find the skull lamp in Sang's room nor in 'Wet Dream', so I don't know where it is... Should it appear next to the other decorative items?
Spoiler
Damn... I always find 7/8 secrets in BCBP. The wreath must be in the one I always left, lol. Could you tell me where is it? I wouldn't like to end up cheating my way to it.
"Camel" poster
Poster with women with their back turned (I suppose that's the Pink Floyd poster ?)
If it really is the Pink Floyd poster then I should also have them all.
Yeah... the women have... 'tattooed' the band's sign on their backs . That's the Pink Floyd's poster indeed.

It sounds like I miss that skull lamp you are talking about I wonder where it could be :/
The skull lamp is located on one of the desks inside the Allied Military Complex building of 'Wet Dream'. In fact, it's next to a computer screen showing someone's ramblings about a hand-reading future-predicting asian girl that is kind of cute. Not like a pornstar, though, lol.

BTW what's that Mako ring ?
Never heard of it :/
Is it from the patch ?
Spoiler
The Mako Ring is the last artifact to be found in EP2. It draws the energy of the 'crystals' (found through EP2's main campaing) and transforms it into spirit shield. So it's useful to non-supernatural characters.
As its name suggests... it's located in Energeia's mission. After defeating the mercenaries that ambush you as soon as you reach the mecha-suit, grab the C4 brick located behind that area (where the mecha is) and dive into the first lake of the area (where a small waterfall falls). Plant the C4 brick into the wall that is designed as such and blow your way to a previous area of the map (before the nuclear reactor). There's an air gap between the two areas that contains the Mako Ring and some 'crystals' I mentioned before.
BTW you must be mistaken because it looks like what you call the skull lamp is actually the one for Merlijn on his door O_o
I looked at that place you mention and there's nothing and I suppose it was that, it looks like you're making a confusion with something else.
As for the ring artifact I'll check that out someday.
BTW you were looking for the secret in which we find the flowers for Micky right ?
It's located in that big hotel in the last area; you get in a secret room from outside near an Octabrain ^_-
(in the "Beach edf mission of course)

Excuse me Rhai but I did find the C4 but I can't find the designated wall as you told :/
And I walked all around in dnclip and saw nothing out of the ordinary ...
Maybe some more clues ^^; ?
EDIT : Well I managed to find it thanks to some more "dnclip" but I still don't understand how you get to it. I didn't see any wall designated to be blown up and the part that conceals the item is not open.

I'll take a couple of screenshots the next time I play Energeia's mission. It's strange... I found the spot before the C4 brick and it was flashing red (and as soon as I saw it I knew that I was on the trail of something good). It's a bit tricky to find because it's inside the only 'divable' lake of the mission (appart from the mandatory one).
Thanks for the clues about THAT secret place in BCBP. I'll check it out the next time I play it.
Where can I find Merlijn's 'Golden artifact with blue and red gem' and Mikko's 'Golden Ankh' (as thedrawliner described them)? I didn't include them in my list so I guess I must've missed them.
I'd like to inform about something that made me blink with bewilderment as well: I was playing Red's 2nd level ('Alien Occupation', I love it) yesterday and I encountered a... bug/glitch/something that made my dropped temporary Riotgun Minigun disappear. I left it in front of the mine sector's door in order to shoot my remaining Magnum sells from the previous level to the Battlelord inside the city hall with some pigcop's shotgun, but when I returned with the red keycard required to access said sector it had vanished. It reminded me of the 'blue keycard disappearance' incident that I reported some days ago.
If I recall correctly I found those 2 decorations in the only secret place of the 4th level of "Daikarin"; I can't remember the name of the level but it's the one after "Noldor's castle".
Clue : the only secret of the level is located somewhere in the first wide-open area, no need to climb a wall or shoot something to access it but it's not as visible as it may sound (in other words be creative) ^_-
Unfortunately eduke32's multiplayer isn't finished yet. I.e we can't even play vanilla Duke 3D online with eduke32 yet, so playing mods like the AMC TC online is definitely out of the question.
The eduke developers have mentioned that multiplayer will become a priority once the android port is released though.
Could someone list off the specialty weapons you pick up in the levels, and their locations? I want to compare/contrast with what I've already got and what I need to get.
Yeah I haven't played through it in one go from start to finish either. I won't have time for it until the end of the year.
Although I haven't done much mapping lately and won't have time for it for a while, I'm starting to suffer mapping withdrawal symptoms
No one has. I'm pretty sure that EP2 takes more time to complete than what you predicted. As for the mapping withdrawal symptoms... take it easy, man. First things first. You've done an amazing job so far and we all understand that this is a FREE indie game made from the community for the community. I'm having a blast playing and replaying EP2 (not much lately, gotta REALLY finish that university project) and as I said in previous posts, it's far better than a lot of nowadays games. Again, sorry about the offtopic.
It's just that I've played each map individually sooo many times over the years for testing and stuff that it's difficult to do it all over again from scratch.
This is my last year of university, and the busiest/most important. Once I graduate I expect that I'll have more free time for mapping, not a huge amount more, but I should at least have weekends to myself again.
So I'm planning to play this soon, and I have two questions. 1) Is there a download that includes the patched full version, or do I have do install and then patch separately? 2) If I don't have my files from episode 1 any more, do I have to play episode 1 all over again or can I just start with episode 2?
1) It looks like there's nothing but V1.00 on MoDB and the AMC wiki so you'll have to install the game and the patch separately unless there's a bundle I'm not aware of.
2) You can directly play Episode 2 without having to play 1. The main importance is that you'll be able to access levels from both episodes from the "AMC base" but the cutscenes and phone dialogues will be different.
Also you must have played a level once in order to be able to access it from the base (apart from their respective "first").

The patches are seperate, but it's just a case of unzipping over the full install (I don't want to push a fully patched version until some more significant stuff has been fixed)
You also don't need to play episode one again, although I'd recommend playing on normal or easy since without upgrades and stuff it'll be a slightly tougher ride without them.

Looking forward to hearing your feedback DT
Just FYI, episode 2 will likely take you 10+ hours to finish, so if you were planning to play the whole thing in a weekend it'll be a bit of a struggle unless it's the only thing you're doing.

I'm not in a big hurry, and I want to play as an ordinary player -- don't expect detailed feedback with lots of suggestions. OK maybe a few, we'll see.
