My interpretation of Expander ammo, looking more like a 'shrinker-to-expander conversion kit'. I think that was idea behind original graphic, but someone in 3D Realms responsible for cleaning sprite screwed structure of objects (my theory :(). Below crude drawing to illustrate what I mean:

I always thought the expander was a human made conversion kit for the shrinker probably experimental.

I assume the code for the Sentry Drone (since none was provided) is something like
voxel "voxels/monsters/1880-1886_sentry_drone.kvx.kvx" { tile0 1880 tile1 1886 }

(Provided you put it into the "monsters" subdir.)

Wow. That looks so good in that screenshot. If I didn't know better I'd say it was the original side angle sprite.

I'd like to see voxels of all the babes... probably can start with the hrp ones...

On a side note i'd like to know where the inspiration and ideas behind the sentry drone came from.

It's already been said that model-to-voxel conversions will not be used in this pack.

Also, voxel babes won't work, except possibly the geishas in E3M1 and animatronics in E4M4 (because they're meant to be robots not actual humans) they would look like statues made of Lego.

Just like most of the enemies probably wouldn't look good. The tank and this drone are mechanical things, voxels work with those. I could be proven wrong (regarding my first sentence), though.

The ending of the fourth episode in the PSX version shows the Sentry Drone model. One difference is that it does not have that button-thing that looks like an eye on the other side.

It doesn't have everything, though. And we are still holding back the final release since we are waiting for the Atomic Health. Which is hard to make.

AFAIK DosDuke doesn't do voxels.

I think the DOS Duke 3D 1.5 exe actually supports voxels but the game code exposes no mechanism to use them. It would only take a small exe hack or a trainer/loader program to fill in the voxel data structures with the right data after initialization.

When were voxels introduced? Did Matt Saettler ever introduce them? Or did it only get introduced in EDuke32?

As far as Duke goes I've only seen them added in Colourless' cDuke3D and in the JF family of ports. I don't recall if any version of DOS EDuke got them but 2.0 did not.

There may be alternate versions which Borion created later but I went for the others (older ones) since they seemed closer to the originals.

0920_chain - some people liked chain with green lichens (4429_fence_nightfright.kvx), but others wanted it out and have more metallic surface (4429_fence_leod.kvx).
I'm not sure which one is more faithful. You choose it, I don't want to cause another chain reaction (ba-da-pssss!)

4429_fence - they differ only in pivot/offset settings. One is 4429_fence, other one is (in fact) 0962_fence. Both use exactly same looking sprite file, but one has its offset in center and the other one has offset on the edge.

Interesting, I didn't know about it. Never had occasion to play PSX version.

By "eye" you mean thing marked on shot? I always thought it is some port for charging or refuelling (docking?).
I finally noticed on DN3D sprites, black plug on the very rear. I took it for something else.

This sentry model seem to have a lot of extra geometry in the back part not present on DN3D version. They probably removed it, because it would look like a noise on low res sprite.
I also noticed that grills on a sides are circular on PSX version (it can be seen on other frame of this movie), but they are sth simpler in DN3D version.

The Sentry Drone voxel looks very good in-game (probably helps that the sentry drone AI moves very smoothly), so I'm going to keep it in StrikerDM. Nice work!

Any progress on the Slimer Egg? Just curious, because what you shown looked really good.
