The pistol is not far from the actual gun (it also mention the dum-dum bullets), but the only thing left from the rest is the missile ammo.

That's pretty much all that comes to mind, and even that isn't quite the right size!

That's really cool to see Fox, thank you for sharing. Never thought anything like that was released for the N64 version. I love this thread.

Not really surprising for a 1990's video game though!

Either way, the gun that ended up in the game is pretty obviously meant to be a Colt 1911, which is .45 ACP.

I found my VHS. Volume is a little low, if that really is a problem I can go back and press normalize.
About 14-15 seconds in.

So, how was the sound acquired by 3DR? Did it originate from this film and then was digitized and put on a sound compilation that 3DR happened to pickup? Was the sound always part of a sound compilation that the makers of that movie used as well?

Dark Forces has a scream if you fall that I have heard in loads of films and TV shows.
Thus I believe that it was probably common practise to purchase a sound effects library on disc or tape and use that.

You'd be surprised how a lot of sound effects are made. (Another interesting video.)

4 minutes in.
Yeah. Sound effects people have a special kind of genius/insanity.

I'll admit, Kathy. The conversations I've been having online lately have been a little flamier than merited. Now you're just asking for it. The video was the first thing I saw the morning I posted that, so I saw a train instead of a semi. I had seen the mistake quite a few times but didn't think anyone cared anymore. So sue me.
