You know that the battery gimmick in horror games is getting old?
I mean it's fine to use it, but when they run out that fast...

Fantastic. I like the small feature of the arm with the lantern reaching out when looking at something. In my opinion, I think the lantern should bob up and down a little less than it does. But that is also a cool feature. Wow, a creepy atmosphere.

Might be a tad too much bounce. VERY Effective demonstration, though! I was creeped out.

Love that Citroen hahaha It´s super awesome!
I made a Citroen like that myself for my hl2 mod some years ago, i had to chase them a few times on the street to get specific details that couldn´t be seen in google LOL

Because the forum requires images to end with an extension like .png which Steam doesn't do.

Steam is retarded.

Glad somebody recognized it
Now that's an awesome 2CV you made for HL2! After release of my Duke Episode, I'm gonna move to HL2 and make same episode with HL2 engine. If you want, I would love to have that 2CV in my episode. That's just amazing piece of model.

Ultra detailed sector-based cars? Must be a Minecraft fan.

Sector cars or no cars.. I'm not playing duke with 3D models. And never played minecraft either.
Anyway, need to make more cars..

Nothing wrong with sector cars, nothing wrong with 3D models, and nothing wrong with Minecraft.
#6741 Posted 19 September 2015 - 09:07 PM
I don't mind sector cars. I merely implied that putting much detail and work into sector-sprite work is almost never worth it especially when combined with with fast pace Duke3D has. Often they don't even fit because thy are surrounded by badly detailed and unshaded areas.

I generally enjoy finding good detailed vehicles in duke maps. They are always memorable, and give the map a seal of identity. Think of the Roch Limo or the London cab in the recently relesaed map by Quakis.

LOL Really? Never would expect anyone owning this domain unless he/she frequently visits these forums, Yatta is that you?
Some maps fall into a different category called "masterpiece" where a level of detail is extreme accross the whole map not just one area or object. Gambini owns at least 2 maps that easily can be put into this category (I don't mean DNF mod which was a community project but still was amazing). In this situation extremely detailed cars are well justified because "they don't stand out". And yes in that case they may serve a role of a landmark or maybe should I say a map-mark.

The problem is that Duke barely has any vehicle artwork. I myself love Shadow Warrior sector-based vehicles.
#6748 Posted 20 September 2015 - 03:29 AM
I recognised it. I knew someone who used to drive one. driving in it was like going to the shops in a Gemini space capsuel.
#6749 Posted 20 September 2015 - 07:23 AM
My father had one when i was a little kid (and then later an Ami8 club). We did several trips to the beach (400km) with them and it´s one of my gold memories of my childhood. If i could afford having a 2nd road-legal car, I would buy one just for the heck of it. They are very charmy cars to drive, just like the Fiat 600.
#6750 Posted 20 September 2015 - 07:40 AM
My cars are usually way too high-detailed for my maps. But I don't really care. I have tons of fun making those cars, that's enough for me.
