I don't know if it's a better idea to release individual packs with models, rather than lump them all into the HRP.

That way people can do stuff that isn't strictly like the sprite. That is how the Quake and Doom communities work. It's a pain to get all the stuff, but there is a lot more diversity in packs and models available.

Early WIP of my first level. I'm trying to, at least, use the most common features once. The way out of that rooftop will be through a blowable floor via TROR. I'm quite proud of how that rooftop is turning out. :( It's not finished yet but I have already used more than 1,500 walls... so it's time to move on with the rest of the level. :)

The surrounding buildings are the 'skybox', BTW. They won't be accessible by any means.

Wow, that's nice. Great shading and atmosphere too!

Do people have an idea of which actress would best fit the standard babe character?

Is this going to be one map or are you breaking it up into 2 like Jungle Base?

@Zykov Eddy: Is that based on your Yume Nikki 3D thing?

Dunno yet if it will be a multi map level.
lots is done already and more we head toward the middle, smaller it gets.

The keycard swallower (y) surely needed a replacement and that's a great one. Seems like you got your motivation restored?

Do you guys want me to put some form of detail on the back of this for user maps? Its usually against walls so I was going to leave a big hole in the back.

I would fill the back with something. I bet I've seen some maps when it wasn't against the wall but on some pole or something.

I can't recall ever seeing the backside of it in any map. But then I don't play many maps.

I don't think that there is any point in putting detail on the back I don't remember seeing the back of one anywhere. For a 'just in case' scenario, all you need to do is to make a solid back with a metal diffuse and stash it in an obscure corner of the UV map. That is only just in case the corners peek out on user maps.

Do you still use that handplane thing?

On a separate note, can I ask again if there is any actress that you guys think would make a good base for the standard Duke babe? Think body shape and face structure. There is a reason I'm asking this.

It's always good to make HRP stuff more robust against crazy user map uses.

At first that would seem logical, but it would ignore nuances of level design. Wall-aligned are generally 1 unit away from walls, so it's not impossible to peek on the other side. Plus some times the level designers place switches further from walls (i.e. blue access switch in E1L2). But I also would recommend not putting detail on the other side, since it shouldn't be visible, even if technically it is sometimes.

I installed DN3D and EDuke32 and Mapster32 on Linux Mint. Tested and working! Right... I just need to discover what next. How to navigate the editor without blowing myself up! I think you guys are a bit ahead of me here.
