I don't; I could just swear I saw something about it a while back.

Maybe just mis-looks since the "scripted"(or tool-assisted) speedrun record never changes since 2014.

For RTA/non-scripted...Speed Demos Archive's record still stuck at 36:58 in 2012 and speedrun.com 's records, both scriptless and scripted, still almost 8 minutes slower than the 2014 one.

Maybe I was getting confused with another Valve broken speed record?

I just discovered that myself. Managed to watch the whole thing.

I have absolutely no idea what is going on in Surface Tension.

But why does it handle like water? I would have thought it would have just been an invisible surface, like the games before and I think after it (I'm pretty sure that's how Source worked, from my tinkerings with Hammer...)

my "experience" with hammer was creating a giant room and spawning this guy in it, so i'm not really qualified to answer this question :)

In Quake BSP different surface types (determined by texture name) may contain different 'contents'. Valve, for some odd ass reason, chose to make the sky into liquids.

Would be cool if this is both real and actually ends up happening one day.

And as soon as I’ve sent messages to all my friends about how excited I am, the email is confirmed as fake

Even if it were true, it doesn't mean anything. They put out dates for EP3 years ago. They've promised dates for most of their games and been way off. An off the cuff message like this in this context really doesn't/wouldn't mean much.

Until we know something is going gold and being pressed for an actual release it doesn't mean anything.

At least he keeps us more entertained than Valve right now.

Just saying, for being called Valve NEWS Network, there's way too much speculation.

The fact that he has anything to talk about at all is impressive. That's not really his fault it's Valve's.

It's nobody's fault, he doesn't work for Valve, they don't have to tell him shit.
Now, i understand why he does it, he's a Valve fanboy, but when something comes out, he rushes to make a video without doublechecking the facts.

I wonder if someone can clarify a little thing to me which I hope is appropriate for this thread.

A while ago I played the demo of Gunman Chronicles and I believe that I read somewhere that the demo originally came with some extra levels not featured in the retail release (but apparently included in later full releases?). Yet I was never able to find any video playthrough of the game that would not have these demo levels, and I cannot remember where I read that info. Is that true? It's mentioned here.

The demo levels can only be found in the mod "Gunman Chronicles : Locked and Reloaded"

https://www.moddb.co...ed-and-reloaded

But oddly Gunman Chronicles have never been added to Steam...

Wait, Half Life 1 was open sourced? I had no idea!

Not quite. It's the gameplay code, not the engine code.

Half-Life/GoldSrc SDK is open-sourced, but someone from Valve is patching GoldSrc games again. <_<

Protocol version 48
Exe version 1.1.2.2/Stdio (valve)
Exe build: 16:32:50 May 22 2019 (8245)

Artifact-AutoChess-GldSrc-Edition in 2 ... 1 ... (yes, you usually count down from three ... but Valve doesn't know that number)
