It contains fixes for models, maps, code (progs.dat) and better sounds taken from QTest.
My personal highlights are fixes that had not been available from anywhere before, such as floating zombies in E4M7 dropping into the water pool below after teleporting in, Spike Mines in HIPDM1 spawning from the launcher tube on top of the level as intended (100% kills possible now), music fix for silent HIPDEMO1... the list goes on!

I wish I couldn't say the same. I don't even know why since episode 5 was really solid. But something about this is ominous...

This takes care of Knight/Shub animations which broke during my QuakeC code corrections, a missing sound loop in drone6.wav and should eliminate (hopefully) pretty much all the z-fighting instances in all ID1 episodes + mission packs (unless I missed any, but I tried to be thorough, even checking secrets).
As a bonus, QuakeC source for the progs.dat files are also included.

For me I can't really explain it. It was a good episode, but something about this just gives me a bad feeling for whatever reason

I played it again yesterday and there are just so many better map packs that I'm not really impressed. Sticks really closely to the original level design with nothing we haven't seen before. I mean, it's cool that they did it, but so what?
I'm also cautious with any optimism ever since Blood FS. IMO devs should just hire people from the modding communities who have already done all the work instead of trying to reinvent the wheel and charge money for something we've had for years. Quake is the last game that needs a remaster. A re-imagining, recreation? Sure, that might be cool.

Unity is pretty bad right? I had some framedrops even on "Cultic" which is on Unity, even though the graphics are so simple. And I have a I5 6600 and GTX 1660ti 6gb.

Also, Dusk is a Unity game and I never had a problem with that.

For me it's like this: When I want to play a vanilla-style pwad, I am going for Crispy/Russian Doom, for those fancy projects with huge maps and nice lighting it's going to be PrBoom+ or GZDoom. If you want OPL synthesis for music, Unity Doom is also not the right choice. And then, what if you wanna go for some Heretic or even Hexen for a change? Right. But well, for whatever reason they couldn't even make Doom 1 and 2 launch with the same executable, even though both games apparently use (almost) identical Unity assets. Could have been done better IMHO.
Sure, you gotta be a bit picky and specific with your needs, but that's how I roll. Let's see what they will do with Quake, anyway. But I doubt it's gonna be super spectacular. You won't be able to run latest and biggest BSP2 maps with it, almost for sure. But well, there's Quakespasm for that. Maybe some HD stuff will be thrown in, but tbh... do I really need that? Quake is one of those games that need to be pixellated, at least for me. Higher than 480p I can't go resolution-wise, at least for vanilla-like maps.
Personally, if I am brutally honest, I am looking forward to "Tremor" or Romero's Quake map(s) (whenever he will get to that) a lot more than to a Quake remaster. It would only rip me out of my chair if it was a complete remake, like Q1 with all its original levels in the Doom Eternal engine. Which is highly unlikely, to put it mildly.

Remarkably, this is actually released already. Guess I'll take a look at this tomorrow since all owners of Steam Quake receive this update automatically. It pretty much looks like they gave it the Doom treatment.
