I don't know that you have ever typed with MrBlackCat... I don't remember him every saying anything about you. Were you even here before 2012?

I signed up here May 14th 2013. - That derpyderp Radar told me I should.

I have never answered anything private of MBC's... if you ever typed with him in an email, it was him. He sees and responds to them from his eMail directly. That is the only instance. I often pretend to be him for the sake of non-disclosure... if he asks me to share his newest game related images or something I will. The few/rare pictures of him, are him... usually to share a gaming shirt or something, but I post them and link them for him. I kind of miss when he had time to be here every day. Was a happier time. He used to work from home almost all the time, but now has a couple of places he goes more days than not. I do give him updates from here often. He likes the idea of this place and always donates to this and other forum causes. If a new Duke was to start, he would probably want to be back here directly. Remember the chainsaw pictures? I posted those... I had to ask him the technical things I didn't know about the saw(s) but that was me.

This part of the conversation was nice, indeed I remember talking about chainsaws :)

If I were you, I would just put me on the ignore list or never post in any thread I post in. Now that would show me! Wow! I feel the lesson learned just thinking about it! No more educating the lowly female on the ways of life. No more allowing me the privilege of learning from the master of... whatever you call what you do... Well, I have to go now, but I can't remember if it was to the laundry room, kitchen, or bedroom... has to be one of those... of course.

Is this where you turn into a retard? You masquerade as a male because you don't want to be treated differently, you then come out as a female and I declare that I will not treat you differently - you proceed to bitch about it.

View PostMrBlackCat, on 24 May 2016 - 02:51 PM, said:

Yeah... that was kind of my thought also. Like I said before, it shouldn't matter, but it does. Is like every post ends up tempered or modified based on your gender. I don't care for most of that... at least on a forum. The only context I have "lied" in, was when I share gaming images or information that I didn't know myself. It doesn't bother me at all, because the information is true, as are my views.
MrBlackCat

So far, anyone saying the most about gender here... is you. I have no idea why Forge upvoted this drivel.

So, if a guy treated women a little more courteously than other men, you'd resent that MBC? If so, why? (I'm not trying to be facetious or antagonistic, it's an honest question)

Yep... at least you have wound down a bit since then. I see that as good. I don't doubt you can be charming when you haven't drank so much red coolaide or whatever it is that brings out the extremist in you.

Exactly... I am glad you understand it. Maybe I will have my own account soon... or else I will get in trouble for using his account and get us banned. :D I have seen other peoples wives use the same forum before... I am sure there is a way to do it without looking like the same person with two accounts.

Because this thread is about confessions and because of my confession, gender is currently relevant .

No... not so much any more... because I expect it I suppose... or I understand that is the norm. I feel like I treat genders the same... especially here, as you really don't know what gender someone is. MBC can tell by reading their text almost every time... but he has been on line since the 80's. Other than some technical errors, no one seemed to noticed the transition here though. Part of me has enjoyed extending myself here "as" MBC when he withdrew... but another part wants to be me lately. As I have changed a fair bit in the last few years (psychologically) I guess I don't mind the gender treatment differences as much. I learned a LOT about that on Playstation Home... was a tough battle to be myself there sometimes. If I wanted to be ignored, I just changed to a male avatar.

Maybe I will be me here soon, and can see how it goes. :D

We can continue this in the "micro-aggression" thread if you so wish.
The mods are unhappy with the amount of digital paper being wasted in an inappropriate label based segregated slotting.

I will say this... my using MBC's account will not happen again. If you see activity on his account, from now on, it will be him. I just never expected to post much really, but like a soap opera (which I actually don't watch) I have become engaged with the people here more than expected over the years.

From now on...

<adds cornstarch to plot> Yeah!

I just looked at my other posts and had pasted it incorrectly into several places. Thanks for pointing it out. :D

This is my PSN account name, is why I chose it here.

Fixed, thanks. :D

Just came to say I support Robman´s opinion regarding gender identity, which is childish and misleading.

It´s also getting old for fuck´s sake! how many of you have already changed your gender on the run? I can even see Forge revealing his true hot female identity. That would be horny!

ME! ME! ME! Ok, not so cut and dried. I didn't change genders, the account changed users.
In short... a few years ago when I first posted using MBC's account, it was FOR him as he was busy and always likes to share the things he accumulates relative to Duke Nukem and gaming. Then I did it again, I think when I made him a Duke Nukem cake years ago. (I've made several) Then later, I took some pictures of his Duke Nukem Forever stuff for him etc. Anyway, I didn't expect him to get so busy and kind of lose interest, and I didn't expect to gain interest in a way. While potentially deceptive, in my case it wasn't with intent to deceive, or with any malicious intent.
But now I have my own account anyway, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Sorry I don't have a hot identity to reveal though... hehehe. Is just me. :)

I remember some Mrblackcat opinions being very respectable, even some of his sayins memorable... now i don´t know if it was him or you...

Maybe he´s someone i never talked to.. and you are a woman pretending to be him, that may have been the person i interacted with a few times. Mrblackcat was one of the few users i cared to read his/her posts. I don´t care now.

I don't see it as a gender issue, but it is odd to have two different people posting to the same account and not identifying which is which. Odd, but...it is what it is. A lot of accounts could be like that for all we know.

I never thought it would be an issue for anyone. So what if two people posted from one account? Doesn't mean that opinion posted becomes invalidated because of that. And yeah, why is this a gender/sex issue all of a sudden? It's not like you were exchanging pr0n videos and "cybering" in PM, I hope... (I'm repeating myself now)

Awww... sorry to hear that. I don't remember either.
Actually if you look at his posts, you can see a long absence after a while after Duke Nukem Forever came out... If you look at his info he says something about retiring from forums etc. I never changed anything in his profile. Again, if you typed with him in private in any way, it was him. Private messages go to his email, so he responded directly from there I am sure.
Duke Nukem forums were about the only public forums he ever used. He has to use his work related forums constantly now.
I will admit sometimes I wanted to say what I wanted to say, and sometimes I thought to myself "what would he say...". I usually asked him about game trivia stuff related to games I don't know.

Oh well... I can understand the feeling of being deceived I suppose. Nothing I can do about it now. Feels good to be myself here though... as silly as that sounds, even to myself.

Moving forward...

Honestly, I don't remember MBC before DNF. But I'm pretty sure that's because I didn't come here before DNF. I actually thought MBC was one of those people from the Gearbox forums we started talking to who didn't know anything about Duke Nukem after GBX DNF was announced and we all migrated from the 3DR forums (prior to our second exodus from GBX to Duke4). I guess the avatars were similar.

On 3D Realms he wasn't a tremendously active poster he says. MBC has been "around" 3D Realms/Apogee pre-internet... on Software Creations BBS. He said he came here (Duke4) in 2009 when 3D Realms future was uncertain. I know he has said many times he literally "waited" for Duke Nukem Forever since the late 90's. This game room in our house was heavily focused on Duke Nukem. Store displays, posters, action figures, books/magazines, SO many Duke games etc... it is my opinion he has the largest Duke Nukem collection there is... at least the most interesting stuff I have ever seen on line. I have taken quite a few images of some of his stuff and posted it because I know he really wants to, but he never has time. I am not a huge Duke Nukem fan, but I am usually sitting in the middle of a 2.5meter (8ft) Nuke Symbol he made in the floor in here... is hard not to be swayed. Hehehe... MBC talks to me in Duke talk often, just to be silly. :)

Actually a friend of his (named Iggy) made that avatar for him from another forum, but I don't remember seeing it before a few years ago. He uses it on game forums.

I can't decide what to use for my Avatar... Hmm... I suppose I need to be all me for a while to decide that based on how I feel.

Here's a new confession. Every now and then I think back to this thread and I'm sad that the guy disappeared and it never took off. I was looking forward to working on that. Probably just as well, I know far more now about playing, recording, and mixing than I ever did back then. It would have sucked. Every now and then I think about starting it up again myself but I've got too much on my plate all the time.

That link didn't work for me... Hmm...

I used my PSN name... which came from getting my own account on PlayStation Home years ago. (Yes, because I used MBC's account because he left the house while in PS Home and he didn't like that). I almost left PS Home in the first few days because it was SO not what I expected of people... anyways, I don't take naps, because when I do I have nightmare type stress dreams that I don't have when I sleep at night. So, Playstation Home reminded me so much of those negative nap experiences I chose CatNapDreams... which are very undesirable really. I am thinking something along the lines of a Tim Burton, skeletonized Hello Kitty with an AK. Just an example. :) That is more me probably. But I will think of something that fits and get it put together.

My father is a pastor. Years back he was spearheading a project for building a new, larger church building. During the development phase after the plans were all drawn up, since he was a techy guy, he went about the task of looking for 3D software to create a virtual representation of what it would look like based on the plans so he could show it. He went through various software. One he bought was a program called 3D House Designer for Windows 95 or something. It was garbage. It wasn't getting the accurate results he was hoping for. So one day I suggested "why not use Duke Nukem 3D's Build engine?" He asked if it could really look good enough and I said sure. So he started to work on designing it in Build and did a fantastic job of it. I stepped in later to pretty it up with textures and doors and sector effectors and whatnot. It's not perfect. We kept hitting the sector/wall limits or whatever and doors started disappearing the more we did, but it was a great representation and really showed off what it could look like with more impact than the other software he'd looked at. So that's what he used. He took it to the board and the people in charge of planning it and they were amazed. Only one person (I know of) understood what dad had used to build the virtual replica and he said "I can't believe you used Duke Nukem to design your new church building." He especially loved showing off going into the bathrooms and destroying the toilets.

I still have the map.
