Eek, that price, what is Night Dive thinking? I can understand that Kaiser put a lot of work into it but Strife for example isn't that price and includes multiplayer and several other enhanced graphics.

But Turok was no where as easy to do as Strife. This uses a new engine much more work was done here to open it up like this, it even has a console command now. I still was guessing 14.99 but hey I guess they think that high of it and I can get down with that personally  Especially since everyone can get it on sale up to Dec. 24th at like 15$. The level editor and workshop they have spoke of will help level the price out though. There has never been a level editor for any Turok game none of them.

I don't know how I keep doing that all the time I skip level 2 and hit level 3

Those 2 levels could go either way the ammo collected in the starting level matches either level. But I go directly to level 2 personally :) Level 3 has one of the hardest platforming segments in the game probably second hardest platform part.

That's debatable. Turok is a mix of reverse engineering, having access to the source code and uses the same renderer as Powerslave EX did. Strife started as a reverse engineering project with the Doom source code as a guideline and a new renderer. I'd say that they almost had equal development time.

CS:GO, 14.99, Multiplayer, has mod support, Published by Valve
...and I could go on but:

Turok, 19.99, Single Player, has future modding support, Published by Night Dive
Why did Night Dive go for a different pricing point? I feel like it is because they knew it was going to sell well as the Turok trailer managed to get over 100k views within 24 hours. There's no point arguing about it now though (although people on the Steam forum won't agree with that) as it has over 150 positive reviews as of writing this post. Also no point in arguing with the person who has over 160 hours in the Steam release either.

Hey I don't want to argue you made a valid point there with Strife. It probably did have a lot to do with 100k views in less then 24 hours. It made it clear as day that it was there biggest public interest that they have done yet. So yeah ND probably leaped on that like a frog heh there taking some heat for it but overall I just don't think its a bad price even though my guess was 14.99. I also bought a few copies for friends to including a gog version for myself so i didn't just get it for free all the way :) But all of this could have something to do with Night Dive seeing how far they would go with the Turok series. I hope we get Turok 1, 2, 3, Rage Wars, and Evolution :(

I'm pretty sure you know Turok 2 is confirmed, you just won't talk about it due to an NDA but the game is sitting on the SteamDB https://steamdb.info/app/405830/subs/

Turok 2008 is also basically confirmed: https://twitter.com/...898961949655045

You don't need to because of those games I picked, they all have "Very Positive" reviews (and I have played them) but that's not why I picked them and why I didn't list their review scores next to them, I was listing their prices and relevant features to the discussion.

@Sixty Four. Glad that you shared one of my scanned pics on the Turok Forums but I didn't see that you posted a pic of Adon on the Turok Forums yet. I gotta register on there soon.

Here's two more HQ pics of fanservice from the Turok: Adon's Curse comic. Enjoy!

BTW. 4/5 pics I've scanned are HQ and watermark-less versions from the official Turok.com around 1999-2000 w/ the "Property of Acclaim" watermarks on them.

Oh no I'm not doing it, all you did on other pic is make someone talk about Adon's ass this will only contribute to it.

I posted This to. Tim Lewinson is the one tweeting he is the dev on Turok 08 and a nice dude. But it seems to be not so responsive atm most people like the older games but there is some likes for this game. I didn't think any interest would be here except that little hint in the air.

But I must say If you read my post there, I tell you what this could really mean in general. I will just say this.. Turok 08 is not Iguana Entertainment like Turok 1. Nope Turok 08 is Propaganda/Disney that's a huge difference this is just coming as a fan  just because I test doesn't mean I know every single step :)

Disney ruins everything they touch. They should've stuck to their cartoons instead of dwelling into further lands.

I thought that too but Disney was one of the publishers of Turok 2008 which got mixed/average reviews.

Turok 08 is DNF of Turok welcome to modern days the only reason Turok 08 scored higher then DNF is because it came out in 08 and not 11.

So Turok ex is moddable
and I been doing some soul searching on the engine. To me it appears to be pretty moddable and it looks similar to Duke/Doom modding imo and the levels are named .map this gives a familiar feeling. But I am surely not one of the best at coding I mean I understand it fully, but doing it is a different story with an engine i'm still learning. It would be cool if more experienced coders from Duke had a look at the files. If you want to see how to here is a post I made

Also Kaiser has been really busy but he does put some stuff on the steam hub but there is much more to come :) Most ppl I know on Turok don't go to steam so I also included that link in my post. But obviously ppl don't read my post's as seen above lmao. And that thread if you checked it was made yesterday its a split topic I needed a child board for Turok 1 modding. I still have to split some topics off into it because its all in the other board.

Last thing if anyone wants to contribute to a T2 wishlist that will be seen by the team http://www.turokforu...-our-wishlist!/

I wouldn't compare Turok '08 to DNF since the latter at least included all the aspects of the franchise thematically, whereas the newer Turok just threw all of it straight out of the window and became a generic space marine game with Dinosaurs.
Really all that makes it a Turok game is the name and the aforementioned fact that it has Dinosaurs, but even that is debatably not that important to the Turok universe as a whole. Excluding Evolution, there never really was much of a focus on the Dinosaurs themselves.

I surely agree with you on this no magic, no native american feel, Turok moves slow as hell, soldiers in black, and its been called Call of Turok by older Turok fans hheh. But this is heavy into detail  I just mean in a sense Turok 08 did not live up to Turok and DNF didn't live up to its hype for Duke making both pretty much fails of there times :) Overall I still kind of enjoyed that turok 08 if anything for the dinosaurs lol but its just missing the depth and soul David Dienstbier put into the Turok games. I think with the sequel to that game, it was going to be better Turok was going to return to that place by himself. I think they were going the right direction in turok 08 #2 before they got laid off by Disney

Turok Evolution I believe will be making an appearance someday. There is already major work done from members on the forum all its takes is the flip of the wrist from someone like Night Dive. I love T4 aka Evolution the creatures are still some of the most amazing and its when you see Tal'Set return finally since T1. there is some nitpicks especially on the flying parts I could say but mehh all around the game is pretty nice.

To me Duke64 it wasn't Turok 4 it was more of a reboot to the franchise, If there was a Turok 4 I think it needs to follow after Turok 3 from the n64 play as the new turok and help adon save Turok from 2 from his death.

Anyone interested in the level editor that's coming? Think about it...

The game started in 1995 and released in 1997 think about how the level editor would be its interesting no matter what game it is
http://www.turokforu...ng-(get-started)/msg3447/#msg3447 hole link won't click but read last post's there :)

Happy new years all well I do have one Turok video I thought I did good on the intro here.
