I had a top-secret look at it last year and the game was looking quite good.

Quite good?? Talk about damned with faint praise.

Hi friends.
This is the greatest viral marketing for a game, EVER!!
stay tuned for E3.
Remember Duke Is Forever!
it is impossible that fail when the game is almost ready! impossible!

"Closing out a milestone this week. 71 more tasks to do and we started with probably 800-900. Been a good push. Next one starts Monday."

"Working on item interface and 360 d-pad layouts"

"Looking at item interface on screen again. We're trying to finalize some core systems and polish them up."

12 years for close?! ahahahah!

George you are a genius! ;) the greatest viral marketing ever!

remember stay tuned!
remember Duke is forever!
remember Duke is back!
Hail to the King baby!

I'd say we won't hear anything official until DNF's fate is decided. One would think if they still controlled the IP that there would be efforts, perhaps through Radar Group to shop around to another developer. Only if that fails would they call it officially . . . . well . . . . . done.

I doubt there will be any announcement one way or another until that is decided.

I am hoping that somehow Radar Group or the new Apogee can pick at least the Duke IP up (I want more Duke). Preferably on PC and if that is DNF somehow finding a new developer or a completely new game I don't really care to much. As long as we get more Duke games.

Do you think George and Scott owe money, and they are going to have severe personal difficulties in the future or they just can't pay the salaries of their developers right now?

 oh man i am sad... I feel like i have been raped by three tall and smelly guys with giant.....ahh nevermind

Ah, yes, must have been the backup like parkar said, i haven't refreshed the main page all day, so i would not have seen the warning.

false alarm, theyre back for now.

Also - According to Joe Siegler about www.3drealms.com :

Quote

No, it's just being hammered. It's not down. We've been slashdotted, fark'ed, and heck, there's even a story about all this on the BBC main website in England!

It's just excessive traffic. The website is also the old server, the forums are on a different, newer box with more horsepower.

Hey folks, now seeping the first news of former employees from 3DR and Take2 staff. I shall now look at the shocking message why 3DR really is broke.

Independently overlap in the statements of the employees. Some have certainly also the Twitterblog pursued by George (http://twitter.com/georgeb3dr). George of 3DR is a few days ago at Take2 approached them, according to the Twitter game and the developing status to show (see twittereintrag). The reason is very likely to have been that despite all the contradictions 3DR DRINGEND apparently (!) Money needed for the completion and payment of employees. According to an insider-3DR has the financial crisis probably also strong in this group process. George took his statement, according to 5 million U.S. dollars to release the game to get ready, T2 invites reflection. George Broussard and Scott Mills was confident that as a publisher Take2 certainly money to one of the biggest titles of the game industry would be stuck and organized (of victory before the decision of T2) a barbecue for the employees of the company (see Twittereintrag).
Before 2-3 days has been reported 3DR at T2 and a very different offer with no one has expected. T2 wanted no money in the Duke stuck, according to insiders doubted T2 heavily on the completion and believed not, and George were now also annoyed by his arrogant manner, instead (!) And that has probably 3DR neck broken, could 3DR rights DNF for distribution of T2 for 30 million U.S. dollars to buy back."

IMHO, somebody invented that story over George's Tweets.

I could have done it myself.

Put it in your native tongue perhaps and someone will put it in English. Or at least read it via a translator.
