Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault

Good game so far, but performance can be less at times (not low framerate, but it's like it's loading in mid-game with occasional pauses)

Very much that is how games shuld be made.

Will you get the full version? Also, when are you going to continue Quake 4? :) You could try to finish it before the release of Prey.

Beautiful game from an artistic point of view. And the gameplay is good too, I love the gameplay elements added due the fact health pickups are rare, and that you have to rely on the medic of your team (only having 4 "restores" by the medic, and you always have to make sure he can reach you when you're low on health, or when you die. Not only a medic can reach you when you lie there with zero health, but also the enemy can come and finish you off :))

Interesting. While I enjoyed MoH: Allied Assault very much, I thought that Pacific Assault was relatively boring and way to patriotic (especially at the end) for my taste. I liked the design of the most missions though.

I like Allied Assault a lot as well, but Pacific Assault's problem is the repititiveness. Most levels are a linear valley in the jungle with an enemy patrol every now and then. But when you isolate one level from the rest of the game (so repititiveness doesn't count) and look at the gameplay, it's actually very good B)

And I can't leave it to post beautiful screenshots :)

I've always loved enemies bursting through walls, Return to Castle Wolfenstein is heaven for me.

I haven't played any more Pacific Assault, so I can't post 311 more screenshots, I'm sorry :)

We all hope for a Battlelord doing so, don't we..? :)

I really miss the scene, of a Pinky Demon bursting through some pipes in Doom 3... An old build or something...

You can play that in the alpha (or more accurate: the leak). Though, I don't mind that being gone, I find the current pinky intro way more satisying B) (And he also bursts through the window B))

Yes true, the first time you encounter one was VERY cool... I loved that scene...
But this "through the pipes" scene could have been a great addition, to all the "scare tactics"... A good change from all the spawning...

Someone should have modded this scene somehow, to appear in a certain level of the fuul game (like, editing it, in a way of using the Leaked versions files and all, to replicate this event) B)

The hellspawning was the dumbest idea ever, they should all have been spawned like in the second level: from between staircases, pipes, grates in the floor/wall, ...
I requested this to Recall to Hell and they response was: OF COURSE we'll be doing it without the hellspawn, we have created a script that allows us to spawn imps between pipes etc.

EDIT:

Played more Supaplex. B) I was stuck for a while but I finally figured out how to arrange and move the bombs so I could win. :)

I also played some Ressurection of Evil, Serious Sam 2, and some more Prey. B)

In what level are you now? B) I hope you are enjoying it, since the game is, like, 365 hours B) And you know about the spacebar trick, right? To eat something next to you without actually moving there.

Yes, I had to use the spacebar to win. I tried it without the spacebar, but kept getting destroyed. Then I remembered the trick, which makes it a lot easier. :) I'm on level 5, "easy deal." B) It took about 100 tries to get through level 4. B)

I don't support their "shadows" (enemy type) though, until they are REALLY area specific B) I don't want to get frustrated throughout the whole modification.
I also hope they use those dark beasts really well, so you are FORCED to turn off all your electricity (like the flashlight etc), to get past him using stealth (and that brute attack with weapons, so without stealth, ends fatal), so it doesn't end up as a good game but with lots of wasted potential like Prey.

Hehe, how old are you? It also took me 100 tries, but I was 6 years old back then hehe B) And you don't really NEED the spacebar to win, because you know you don't need to collect ALL infotrons, right? In some levels you need to, but not in Collector (which is the name of level 4 if I remember correctly). On the bottom of your screen how much infotrons you still need to collect before you are allowed to exit.

Also, if it takes you a lot of tries to get through a level, you remember you can skip 3 levels right? Don't be afraid to waste a "skip level", once you finish the skipped level later on, you can skip a new level instead.

Does the adlib or soundblaster work with the music? I like the music, you'll keep hearing the same song over and over throughout the whole game, but it never got repititive to me. Heck, it made the game a lot less boring for me.

Yeah, I figured out that you don't need all of the infotrons to win level 4. Unfortunately, the music doesn't work on the 386. B)
I am really enjoying the game, and it will be interesting to see more of the challenges that it has to offer. B)

did you turn on adlib or soundblaster, or one of the other options? does the sound FX work without using the PC internal speaker?

and damn right the game will offer you some "interesting challenges", just wait for level 11, called "Run for life".

Muhahahha *evil laugh* :)

Played Prey...

Shit, what an awesome game...
I'm on my way, to find the Keeper now... I'm so happy, i just got Prey today...
LCE, with all the stuff i wanted with it... And awkwardly cheap, compared to what new games cost in Danish stores...

I felt like going down the city, into a store with my LCE of Prey, and brag about, me having it, while they still haven't got it, and certainly not the LCE... :)

Of course i didn't...
I was too busy playing the game... B)

ALREADY to the Keeper? Make sure you don't finish the game in four hours B) I suggest you keep crouching from now on.

So both the music and the sound FX are working now with soundblaster? Or do you have to use the PC internal speaker?

It only works with the internal speaker. The other options didn't have music, and most of them didn't have sound either.

Oh well, you'll still enjoy the puzzles and other challenges. But good sound still makes the experience better.

Hu... that was quick. :) Did you start again from start or did you use your demo save games?

My LCE was shipped today so hopefully it'll arrive tomorrow.
