Call of Cthulhu...
Really cool game... If just the developers polished it some more (2-3 months maybe) it wouldv'e been a great game...

The animations are not very good, and the graphics are pretty outdated, especially the skybox... Although, the sanity effects and stuff look really cool, but overall, it's just not enough...
The controls are a little wierd, a few more options wouldv'e been nice...
And the stealth, and AI could use some work too...

And the sound, is simply not good enough... Some voice acting is pretty good, but it's not varied enough... Just some more ambient sounds, and better/scarier music would've made the whole gaming experience alot better...

Anyways, looking apart of these things, it's a pretty funny game... I'm looking forward to meet the REAL enemies (monsters... :))

Call of Cthulhu...

Now it's getting interesting... :) B)

Btw, how exactly do you pronounce "Cthulhu"..?

I think it was something like "C'talha" or "C'tala" (C like in "Cycle", and not like "Can")
Anyone know this for sure..?

In about 15 minutes the Prey demo \0/

Go to fileshack for best results (d/l at 370-400k for me)

I guess you have faster speeds if you download it right away as soon as it's released.
Unfortunately that was in the middle of the night for me, so I couldn't download it. My favourite demo download website, gamesdomain (Yahoo Games), even fails on me B)
Luckily, I get decent speeds on Fileshack: 86 kb/sec. (any less wouldn't satisfy me since it'd take too long and I'd be too afraid something happens, and that would be wasted bandwith).
Ok, it's not my usual 350-400, but it doesn't matter since I'm off to sleep again (I had to study until early in the morning for chemistry, until almost 5:00). The Prey demo was released at 6:00 so I had no chance to download it, I needed to sleep obviously (especially since 8:30 started my exam). Now it's 11:00 so I can sleep again.
This afternoon I have to study German, so I have no chance to play this (but, it wouldn't surprise me if I said somewhere this evening: I'll take a break for 20 minutes, I'll just try it out... and then end up doing more than just trying it out :))

It's very wicked to have a demo I was anticipating so much released in the middle of exams and in the middle of the night at the same time B)

I's 10% downloaded now, I hope it's 100% when I get up, and not "failed" B)

How did you do that? Via network? (Since your gaming computer is isolated, you said you weren't able to try the Doom 3 demo either)

I clicked on my Prey icon and it went to the menu \o/
I read many people don't even get that far :)

Maybe I'll try out one level later this evening (if my studying progresses well).

That was a very LOOONG time ago. My gaming computer isn't isolated any more I downloaded the demo of the internet form gamershell. Also had my gaming computer had LAN access when it was "isolated" it wouldn't have been "isolated" at all since it would automaticaly have ahd internaet access.

Anyway I played the game online aswell. The first time in my life I have done that. It went smooth too.

This is really an awesome game...

I can imagine myself playing it frequently, once the full version is released...

I don't know which Hitman games you have played, but it's way better than Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, but not as good as Hitman: Codename 47.
I don't like how they get suspicious when you walk pas them. OK, it's realistic and all, but I think useless gameplay mechanics like these, which slow down the game a lot, are annoying. Depends from game to game of course, but in hitman's case I liked it more basic, as it was in the first game.
Luckily, they don't shoot you anymore when you're running. That was very annoying in the second. The missions are also more interesting than the second.

Of course, that's just my initial impression, I'm only in level 3 (not so fun level... but the previous level was amazing, though).

Depends on your skills B)

Doom 3

I noticed you get get out of the window, the one that shatters when the imp does a hellspawn right next to the glass in Alpha Labs - Sector 2.

It's also the first time I managed to get the guy with his lantern to the end of the dark area. I also explored that dark area, can't believe I've never done that before, and it's already my third time through Doom 3. Guess I just found it too scary there B)

I'll try it out. :) I have Hitman 2: Silent Assasin.

I actually was able to finish Far Cry about an hour ago. The ending was awesome. B)
This was a really long game for me. I started playing it on 12-24-05, and just finished today, so It's been over 6 months. B)

AVP2 took me 3 years...

Got it in 2001, then i got stuck once...

then in 2004, i tried it again, and beated it (all 3 episodes), and damn, i loved the story all of a sudden... I didn't follow much of the stories in games before that, becasue my english wasn't as well back then...

The Alien part was by far my favorite, and i instantly got used, and loved the abilities of it...

I love this game so much, becasue it's among the first games that learned me to try following the story of a game, because they're actually pretty good told, some of them...

I want a AVP3 game so badly, done by Monolith... :)
I would do alot, just to try playing as an alien, in a NEW AVP game...

Most recent game was Battlefield 2... I met this very VERY kind person, who used his voice chatting very well, talked and stuff, and made almost perfect orders (i was squad member of his team) He appreciated all the help i gave him, and was happy to actually work with a bunch of competent players...

It was a really enjoyable game... It turned out he was from Sweden, and even understood/spoke Danish perfectly...

I wrote his name down in case i'd ever meet him again, because i must say, this was one of the best BF2 matches i've played ever... :)

It's an old puzzle game, my favourite 2D one, but I would't bother if I were you, it is VERY fun, but no modern PC can run it since it uses the CPU as a timer (= bad programming). I know you have a 486, but that's already too fast :) My 386 is even already on the border. There is a speedfix out there but it runs terrible (slows down when there are a lot of moving objects in the level), and the Windows ports all have differences compared to the original that makes them cheating (eg: too big portion of the level on the screen). You could try with Dosbox, but I wouldn't know what value to use for CPU cycles to make the speed like it's supposed to be, and I also wouldn't know where to get the original Supaplex... everywhere I look it's Speedfix (you can recognise it because it's called spfix##.exe instead of supaplex.exe). Luckily I have the original on floppy B)

It sounds like a great game. I do have a 386 with Doom installed on it, but it's probably too fast.

I just played some Blood 2. B) Your screenshot of it earlier got me interested in trying the game, so I downloaded the demo. B)
