Emos suck, and so does the whole concept of "emo", but emo chicks are fucking HOT...

Considering that some people have problems with distinguishing emo chicks from emo boys... ;)

Yeah, I don't get that either.
Goth girls can be really attractive, but emo lasses?

Not very accurate. I've seen hot emo chicks and hot goth chicks. And ugly versions of both as well. Personally.. I'll just go for the normal girl who's wild and kinky. The last thing I'd want is for her to be a part of some sub-cultural thing requiring that she be depressed all day or wear certain color clothing.

I knew a girl back in school who looked almost exactly like the girl in the last picture in my link. Except shorter hair and with white streaks instead of red. She also had two piercings in her mouth like the chick in the second pic in my link. Funny thing is that I wasn't even sure if she was emo or goth or just liked to dress the way she did. I mean her personality was semi-outgoing but quiet.. she smoked a Buddha like every 2 hours though... lol

If you like her, then why give a shit if it's emo, goth or whatever? Besides, with you she could be completely different than she is in this stupid [emo, goth, hip-hop, duke fans] crowd.

Emo,Goth, etc are a certain way. Granted it's diverse but still a certain way. I prefer girls who are themselves, no external style. Just their plain unique selves. And I'm not into the "Im like this with you but like this with them" chicks. It leads to the inevitable conflict of "why can't you be more like them"

But they still would have their preferences. And those preferences might as well be emoish, for example.
Really, would you give a shit if you like her?

This is not what I meant. I meant that you'd see so much more while she's one on one with you. Well, maybe I'm biased since I hate parties, gatherings, crowds etc. So, I would say the same thing about not-emo girl.

Btw, I would give a shit if the girl is a christian or something. Then this is a big problem since it is not allowed to have sex not in the marriage. Well, of course most of the "christians" don't give a shit about that, but still.

I would give a shit because these things would be a part of who she is. And that would mean I would have to deal with it for however long we would be together. Not to mention "liking her" would mean liking who she is as well.. emo or goth, etc included. I hope you see were I'm going with this. :P
And yeah.. I'm not into religious folk .. that includes Atheists. Common sense, open mindedness and free thinking.. now that is attractive. :P

Anyway back to emo, I never went through a genuine emo phase.. just an ultra rock bottom depressed phase. But that was a long time. I think there's a key difference between having a shitty life and dressing a certain way and acting depressed. Since I endured about 2 years of shit depression... I can say for myself that it was bad enough experiencing it. Imitating or even "seeking" it out though.. only a crazy person would do that. I would suspect that this whole Emo and Goth thing is really just an attempt to fit into something. And happens mostly to ppl who couldn't fit into other things before. But once a person realizes that there is no need to fit... they often drop it.
..It's all so trivial. http://forums.duke4....tyle_emoticons/default/ted.gif

I think we'll going in circles. :P Anyway, you can like any girl with any tastes. Of course, there are some "preferences", but it also could depend on the situation and your general moral condition at that moment. So, right now, I don't give a f... about the possible girlfriend whoever that may be. Emo or not.

I don't think it's purely imitating. Of course there are some people that tend to imitate, but the general thing, I assume, is people concentrating on depressive feelings and pessimistic thoughts. There are those in every one of us. It all depends how you address them and whether you dwell on them.

Now, about whole dressing thing. It's just more of a style, I guess. People, I've seen on the streets, weren't really that depressed. Though, they probably tend to.

Also, some people(well, all people me included) would just label everyone left and right.

I think that just as with the character type, there needs some sort of common ground when it comes to taste in music, films, TV shows and the like.
Can't really see myself getting involved with someone that's hardcore into commercial "urban" music and Sex and the City style rubbish, for instance.

Maybe. But there needs to be just the right amount in same tastes. And there needs to be a pretty good difference. Or you'll like her just because of her hobbies. At least at first several dates. That is not good. But... it is a good thing to have some, like you said, common ground.

For example, imagine a girl who likes games, have the same attitude towards music or something. You'll be interested in her just because of that. Only because of the hobbies.

People aren't just their hobbies. There is a thing called "chemistry" between people. It's how well two people mix. Their view points on the world for one thing. If the person thinks bombing a nation for resources is okay and you think such ppl should kill themselves.. chances are, you won't get along well. And then there is the more important matter of how well the two ppl connect. If you can say something moderately funny but she still laughs and you laugh when she does the same.. that's quite something. When you can roughly describe something and she knows exactly what you mean. When your thinking of making food and she's already one step ahead of you. It's these kind of things that indicate compatibility.

... it's not about two people both liking to play call of duty. :P

How are you supposed to spend time with each other if you have no common hobbies? My point is, if you share common hobbies, then you probably both already have good chemistry.

I wasn't talking about complete absence of common hobbies. But if the only thing that is interesting about the girl/boy is her/his hobbies, then the romantic relationship will be over pretty soon. If the only thing you can do together is play Lego Star Wars(would be cool, though), you're not gonna last.

But... if you really like each other then, perhaps, you would play Lego Star Wars just because of that(assuming you're into the games of course). Hobbies may coincide because of relationship, but not the other way around.

P.S. Maybe I'm talking way too serious about relationships. Too romantic and perfect. Too theoretic. So, I'm possibly just full of shit. :P
