Well, i'm at least happy that Star Control went to a developer more competent than Legend. Unfortunately Toys for Bob is slaved for doing Skylanders so I don't think they'll ever work on that again.

I read that Toys for Bob is not doing the third Skylanders game that is coming out at the end of this year though?

Sorry but no dime - the only chance I can see is to kickstart blood IP again with somewhat different name. Cause WB is not interested in it at all - I have contacted them before and they put their price on ridiculous level. Whoever puts blood remake on the spot gets my highest bid instantly,

The future for Blood doesn't look too bright at the moment. :P

Don't let it be 'the end' of Blood. So who's at fault of squandering the rights to the NOLF franchise? Monolith or Fox Interactive? Someone is doing a piss-poor job of keeping the IP rights in check.

Another thing: I hope the source codes to the Redneck Rampage game aren't lost.

Wait, I just read his post correctly.

"Has the situation with Atari over remaking Blood gotten better in any way?"

Let's hope it doesn't.

I've been trying to track down the source to RR and haven't had much luck in locating anyone who actually has the rights to it and can make decisions about it. All I want is to merge the changes into EDuke32, effectively providing them with an awesome RR port for free...

Anyone heard anything about Blood publishing rights being sold?

It would be cool to check out RR with polymer lights, they might combine pretty damn well with all the fake lighting effects they achived with the texture sets they use.

Didn't Atari retain the rights to Eradicator as well, through Infogrames' purchase of Accolade in 1999? Where did that go?

So I trust people in the Blood community will stop with the dead end that is Atari(or whoever buys publishing rights from them) now that Jace Hall has confirmed what I have been saying for year?

I know that twitter responses have to be small but he seems completely uninterested now...

Sort of shows how much effort he was willing to put in it in the first place.

I don't think visiting The Postmortem with a lengthy write-up and even briefly joining Posty's IRC channel (!) shows a lack of effort.

Either way, I hope that guy stays away from Blood with all of his stupid ideas.

? ? ?

Wow, he joined two forums. I figured he was looking to take over the world with that kind of boldness.

Your requests for a new Blood game after the success of Shadow Warrior have not gone unnoticed. Tough path the navigate though...

Looks like the USA wing of Atari now has divorced from it's parent Atari S.A. Now lets see if Jace Hall can finally resume the Blood talks.

Let's hope they realize that when nobody wants to buy the rights to a franchise with that one 1997 game not many young gamers these days have heard of, and it's crappy sequel, they'll put the price down to something reasonable. Supply and demand; when there's no demand, it doesn't matter what the supply is Posted Image

That sucks. I would've loved to play a slick port of the original.

I hate to see Blood fading into obscurity. I sent Jace a tweet a/b Atari exiting bankruptcy to allow him to resume the Blood talks and I hadn't heard a word since.

I really want Blood 2's Client MFC bug fixed once and for all. I think it's never gonna be fixed I'm afraid. The Gaming Industry doesn't listen to their fans at all and that's sad but true.

Well it's not fading anywhere. We just have to make do what we have, and I will make do as soon as I get some free time.

Hey, but even if someone with the source would leak it out, source ports based on it would be illegal right? What about not using the actual code from the source, but using it as a reference? Just curious.

I've read this and the Keen source thread and just makes me even more sick of all those corporate practices. If it was up to me, I'd leak the source and try to cover my tracks as best as possible, but there's still the point above.
