You're putting words into my mouth and I never said such a thing. I know what a damn easter egg is and I still disagree with the art direction. I'll live though regardless I'm not dying because of it it's not like my opinion matters either way and I wont be staring at those sprites for the entire game. Also, I'll go where I please.. thanks.

You're out of line TerminX. It's even worse now calling me retarded. What's wrong with you? That's just plain rude. To answer your question though.. I would have preferred if they had at least made HD sprites and a good anime style model would be even better. But that's just my personal opinion no need to fall off your rocker.

What's wrong with me? You're the one who thinks a professional game developer used sprites from 1997 because they couldn't create a female model, lol.

Think whatever you want.. I said they either perhaps felt they couldn't make one with the right style to fit the original exactly or they didn't want to or "insert whatever reason you want here". But either way I would have still preferred something HD there.. that's just my personal preference. You know, this whole thing could have just been a throwaway comment.

Ah, so they included the anime girls but they didn't bother to remake them in HD instead plopping in the old sprites. I'm guessing they didn't have confidence in their artistic ability to make an anime girl and or no one who could?

Ah, so you decided to comment but you didn't bother to think about what you say instead blabbing in some nonsense. I'm guessing you didn't have the knowledge or ability to make a decent comment or no idea at all?.

I love this game so far. I played through the first few levels and the sword play is really satisfying. I mean...it is disturbingly satisfying.

You beat me to it.

I had the game two days early and finished it before release. According to my Steam time it took 11 hours, on normal difficulty.

Lol. I still remember back in the day when Joe would say a Shadow Warrior sequel was never happening because it wouldn't sell.

I've been playing it for the last few hours, and so far this is one of the best FPS games I've seen all year. The sword system is wonderfully fluid, the guns feel potent but are not without drawbacks like recoil and the environments are well-lit and colourful but don't come across as too bright. It's also well-optimized out of the gate (At least in comparison to RoTT), there are some areas where the FPS can drop but a patch here and there could soon remedy whatever issues are there, otherwise it is smooth as silk.

My only real gripe is obviously the lack of original Wang humour. I really do miss it. However, considering that anyone who isn't familiar with the idea that Lo Wang's classic VO work was based on parodying Asian action movies alongside western one-liner quotes could consider the original character a blatant racist caricature you begin to understand to some degree why Devolver and FWH changed it. It's hard to get people to listen to you when they get riled up and take the supposed moral high ground over things like racism, no matter how well you explain your ideas and philosophies, and I guess it's easier in the long run to avoid any possible controversy than to do it and then suffer backlash and risk damaging the kind of reputation that Devolver has worked hard for, not to mention the reputation of FWH who are still in their early years. We as fans know that the original character wasn't made just to offended Asians, and we would rather have things the way they were back then because that's what made Lo Wang a cult gaming figure, but alas the rest of the world probably wouldn't share our understanding on the matter and would just say it's about being rude for the sake of it.

Still, this is a brilliant game and I hope it leads Flying Wild Hog to make games of this calibre in the future. Lo Wang isn't that bad in terms of the alterations made here, it's not perfect but if you have to 'sanitise' a character to be considered non-racist then you could do a worse job of it than what's been done here.

I was going to wait a while before getting this, but my brother got it for me knowing a like swords, ninjas, and Shadow Warrior. I'm 4 hours in and only just completed the 2nd chapter, not because I suck but because there is so much stuff to see and do and secrets to try to find, I honestly haven't had so much fun with a fps since Duke 3D. It feels fresh, I like the humour and found the new Lo Wang really grows on you and some of the secret throwbacks to the old build games will make you smile.
The combat, guns and blade are sublime, the enemys react to bullet and blade impact in a way that lets you know you are really fucking them up. It's not really like SS except the odd time when you are being rushed by tons of creeps and that's so much fun thanks to the non linear combat options. This honestly feels like a masterpiece of a game, I sometimes get a bit overly enthusiastic about games I think are amazing at the start (like Blood Dragon) but then I get bored as they never really get any better but I don't see how this game could be like that it's just too much fun....so far. These guys seem to have reached a pleasant joining of old school and modern and I take my hat off to them, GTA V can sit and wait untill I'm done with this. I just hope thing don't go tits up at some point.

I know there are a lot of sceptics here and they have every right to be as we have been fucked so many times before but maybe just this one time, someone got it right.

Free DLC? Also the company they linked to in that tweet is working on an interesting game at the moment.

Multiplayer, maybe some crazy destruction Derby type game mode, that would be original, though unlikely. If they make a coop I will fuck them, balls deep.

Very clever way to keep the game in the headlines. I would like to playthrough Shadow Warrior with a mop!

Seeing that everyone here is praising the game, I'm considering getting it. However I have 2 shadow warrior coupons, but they're not showing up in the checkout. Any help?

It is a good game indeed. I think most people were afraid of the humor which I still think is missing. THIS is what duke forever should have been. A 7,5-8/10 game

Will still wait a bit to buy a discounted game, since I can't afford it at this price. Hardly buy games over 25€. Even with duke I waited almost a year, to buy the collection pack for around 6€.

Maybe pixelated sprites also serve as a form of censoring?

Go to Steam, view, inventory then you should see the token, I think you click on them to redeem them.

Unfortunately that doesn't work. There are no redeem or use buttons. According to Lunick it's supposed to automatically be added during the checkout but that's not the case.

That sucks, but if it makes any difference it's well worth the money if you have it. But I think there must be a way, I'm not really sure as my brother got it for me. I have played it for 7 hours with only short breaks tonight, haven't done a gaming marathon like that in ages.
