Yes, just look at all the wide open areas in the screens, the over 40 enemies on screen at the same time ... oh, wait.
And also the coloring and bloom looks more like Hard Reset than any SS game. Not even SS2 had this color scheme.
On a different note:
I still await the classic SW on Steam more than this. Maybe it is good, but screens say nothing about gameplay. Hopefully it is different than what you got from Flying WIld Hogs and their former mates of People Can Fly (I mention them, because they have the same roots). The corridoresque levles in Hard Reset were already mentioned and in Bulletstorm it was worse and you couldn't even jump (only had some sort of "cutscene" for a "climb over chesthighwall animation").

Definitely excited for Shadow Warrior to make a 2013 comeback. Both FWH re-imagining and General Arcades' Classic Edition. I hope Flying Wild Hog go a little wacky/crazy with this game. Looking forward to seeing more of the game. I hope they can walk that fine line of appreciating what made Shadow Warrior special, a loud-mouth hero, secrets, great combat, interactivity, and a cool atmosphere while doing their own thing with the game. That's a tricky thing to do, though I'm not too worried as they've proven they can make great shooters. This certainly has the pedigree to be something special. Time will tell.
Still can't believe we're getting a new Shadow Warrior and ROTT in 2013!
Edit: It looks like their using the Road Hog engine again. I wonder when they started this project? They shipped some pretty expansive Hard Reset DLC early last year, but I'm not sure if the whole studio was working on it.

Luckely, I have absolutely no nostalgia for the old shadow warrior game because I never really loved it to begin with.
This game can be as different as it wants if you ask me, as long as it's a good game.
It's also pretty much dancing on the line of decent graphics and in some places it looks kind of outdated if the teaser and screenshots are anything to go by.
The graphics fidelity appears to be at a level found in 2008 - 2009 triple A games.
The gameplay is the big question.
Did they go for a classic gameplay retained from the old game or did they go for a modern type of gameplay that retains nothing from the old game.
In my opinion, a better shadow warrior would have been one that would have been developed in the style that ROTT is being done by interceptor...
It retains all the classical things down to the weapons and the general overview map of the classic levels, but with new high res textures, 3d models and with a much more detailed level design.

* Screenshots that resemble Painkiller (closer to Serious Sam than Shadow Warrior itself).
* Not so promising developers
"Ok people, nothing to see here (yet at least), move along".

From the currently video & screenshot, it looks like Asia-like but Japanese is more, for some reasons...
But I won't surprised if they mixed them up again.

Yeah, mixed them up and showed its style is a reason why SW so awesome to me, even it's weird.
Lo Wang is a Chinese name, actually, but I just don't know 3DR was decided which one is the last name...

Ok, this kind of soured me.
I was thinking to myself that there was no way you could make a remake of SW in this PC(political correct) gaming environment.
And looks like i was right.

Why not? Don't the sales of the Grand Theft Auto series practically kill this premise completely? There's no substantial evidence to indicate that politically incorrect humor doesn't sell. As a matter of fact, the opposite effect might occur.
Methinks the developers simply decided to leave out the humor because they didn't want to have a legal battle with the idiot Million Moms advocacy groups.

It's a reasonable thought. If some advocacy group pressured them then Devolver, as a small publishing company, wouldn't have many legs to stand on, unlike the bigger publishers/developers like Rockstar. I did see on YouTube link to the trailer that Devolver said in response to a comment they said that "Lo Wang is a wise-cracking badass with some brutal weapons, don't you worry! He's just a bit younger and more of a smartass this time around!", but they've probably tweaked the character and the vocal delivery/lines to seem less stereotypical to avoid any claims of racism.
Politically incorrect humour is funny and it does sell, but if the shit hits the fan then you either need a good PR man or an even better legal team, and as good as Devolver's PR can be (Fork Parker for one) I doubt their legal team is a fearsome as Rockstar's

I'm not buying this.... the ROTT reboot sounds better... this just sounds like 3DR shovel ware.

Also, I just got interested in this
http://www.gameinfor...ior-reboot.aspx
"Right now, players should expect a narratively-rich single-player experience. The team at Flying Wild Hog is focused on the solo experience right now,"
It would be nice to have a good Single Player game.

As I understand it, it will be released in 2013 for PC and 2014 for next-gen consoles. Flying Wild Hog is on Sony's official list of developers for the PS4.
