What I did like was the amount of detail that went into the maps. As in the custom sprites made to look like you were really playing an older version of DNF. I also liked that stuff from the community was included like the voxels that Reaperman did or the Boulder (I hope I am correct here) that Deeper Thought coded. The enemies I thought were also really cool and it was nice to see some enemies recreated from those trailers in this. I don't have much to say weapons wise, the sprites were nice. Music was spot on as well. I also liked how easy I was able to determine who the hanging man was...
Now what I didn't like... the gameplay of the maps. I apreciate that the maps are so full of detail but they are large. I'm not sure if that's meant to be because they are to scale or what but I didn't find that particularly nice. I also didn't appreciate the amount of liztroopers that were on buildings in the distance firing at me whilst I try to shoot them down with my pistol. What also happened to some of the sound in the game? I'm not sure if it is just me but some of the voices (Duke included) just sound.. garbled? I know you guys would have had to record some lines from the trailer but they generally seem worse here. This will probably end up offending someone but what on Earth was that boss? I honestly thought it was some ugly joke of mashed up sprites, I would have appreciated seeing the Cycloid Emperor again. The gameplay in that area was fine though. The bike. I think I died too much from trying to use that damn bike.
What I will say is that you guys did a good job of recreating what you saw. I picked up the Balls of Steel edition of DNF today and was reading through the art book and it was cool to read stuff in that, that also appeared in this mod. I guess it just wasn't for me. I feel like an asshole now for pointing all that stuff out.
