Copying the file is too far out of scope. There definitely won't be any long path problems though.

Steamworks is a DRM. [...] I'm not sure what General Arcade is on about at the moment but currently, you do need Steam to launch this. Maybe it is a planned feature...

Can you test one thing?
Quit Steam, copy Duke3d+ steam folder to another place. Try launching Duke3d+.

Some games, even if they have steamworks, don't require steam while launching. Of course, steamworks features won't work then, but that's beside the point.

That's what I did, but I'm just guessing that since this is still Beta, they wouldn't activate that feature yet to stop builds being shared around.

Let me clarify, you can't launch Duke3d+ executable without Steam?

I'm hoping the multiplayer has Team Dukematch. Something the XBLA version lacked.

Oh yeah, I just made it through L.A. Meltdown.

Seriously? You made an account just to mock one person? A person that has made many contributions to Duke Nukem... At least pick somebody who doesn't offer anything, like... me.

Edit:
Scratch that, I have made a tiny contribution two days ago. I made it possible to change the screenshot directory... Minor, but still more than you I'm sure.

I don't need to be put in my place. I am already on my throne of grand opulence.

I can tell you guys now that the pistol is not in a weird place anymore and is in the same position as what the eduke32 version would be.

You should definitely consider this. The ability to distribute our maps through Steam's Workshop would be one of the main reasons to buy Duke3D+.

No Steam Workshop is unacceptable. Duke3D has always kept living due to the community, since 1996 thousands of maps have been created. Without this dedication the game would have been a lot more forgotten and I doubt ports like Jonof (which you are using) and eduke32 would have seen the light of day, or if they had, not with their current quality.

Putting Duke3D on Steam with no steamworkshop is not understanding the product you're dealing with.

Edit : I will also add that while Duke3D was far from being the first game featuring a level editor, it was the first to become so successful. Current generation games with heavy community content such as Team Fortress 2 are children of Duke.

With Steam Workshop, your Steam version will have unlimited new content coming out every so and then : We create, you get the money.

No Steam Workshop, no reason to buy this over the GoG version.
With Steam Workshop support : "Create and share your levels with the entire community due to Steam Workshop support! Unlimited hours of fan created content to play, either already made or upcoming!"

If you really are unsure whether to put steam workshop support or not, you are fools. For Duke3D it shouldn't even be something to doubt about.

+1 Fully agree with MetHY.

If they do add Steam works I am going to be very interested to see how it will handle "total conversion/mods" support.
Or will it only be limited to maps. (I really hope not)

As MetHY stated, the thing that set Duke apart from any other game in it's time was the ease of modification.

EDIT: How has Lunick and NUKEMDAVE got beta? access to this.

If you read some recently pages of this thread, you'll know Lunick was beta tester.

Don't know NUKEMDAVE but maybe he's too.

Yes I knew that, but I was curious as to "how" they got it?
I knew NukemDave was because he went and posted it over his Facebook.
