Daily DNF Rant Thread  "Rants about DNF and its development go here."

Scott Miller is experienced enough not to comment on such a contested topic when he's not in the loop, so I don't think his current focus is too much of an argument; those comments were made over a year ago, as mentioned.

Besides, even if he's full-time Radar now, I doubt he would let his finger slip off DNF's pulse.

He probably won't, but I think that the best choice for a DNF information is the project lead.

Oh, and about experience. Scott said "off the record" to a press about possible DNF release time. If he didn't slip this thing intentionaly, then that was kinda strange for him to do that. And then George Broussard was saying stuff like "leason learned". They are in the industry from 80s. I thought, they have learnt about that long time ago.

Things are said off the record to the press routinely. Scott can't be blamed for the complete incompetence of the Dallas Business Journal. Scott Miller actually has a recommendation for Chris Remo on his Linkedin.com profile:

Quote

Chris Remo
Editor-in-Chief at Shacknews, Ltd.

While Chris worked at ShackNews he was always courteous and professional in a business--online web reporting--that sorely lacks in integrity and professionalism. I was always happy to trust Chris with off-the-record info because I know it would never go further. Additionally, Chris' work is top-notch, and I've always been a fan. March 16, 2008

Scott Miller (Co-founder at several companies, including Radar Group & 3D Realms) was with another company when working with Chris at Shacknews, Ltd.

Thing I can't really wrap my head around, is the media blackout. Which has been now broken multiple times. To be really honest, it should have remained under the wraps, until they are really ready to show the game in it's fullness. I'm bit dissappointed on this, since it creates certain tension, even if 3D Realms is quick to put the blame on fans.

Seems to me that we're in Blackout 2.0? The last couple of years has seen a tiny, yet fairly steady trickle of info & media. Now it looks like 2002-2003 levels of nothingness again.

Well, to be fair the bug list was on Feb 11th, if you count that as an info of course. And the wallpaper was just 2 months ago.

Well, one would think that they would increase in frequency.

I hope, and I want to believe this blackout is just what comes prior to something big or else, there won't be any justification left to explain this bullshit.

I mean c'mon, there have been tiny bits which were interesting in a certain grade, they were tiny yes, but at least there was something.

Now there's fucking nothing.

Just silence. Geez I hate this silence so common in 3DRealms

That's what I'm beginning to think now too. I think they may have gone into "Blackout 2.0™" until the trailer/hype starts. Whenever that may be.

And no, I don't think this is a restart or they've run into more development troubles. I just think they're probably gonna remain quiet now until the trailer. I'd actually
prefer that rather than getting small updates and then silence.

And X-Vector is spot on as well. He'll take your face and smash it into the ground of harsh reality.

Haven't you noticed? Whatever 3dr is saying, with teaser they actually started the hype. And then they continued the hype by releasing various things. It wasn't pre-release hype, but those weren't random things either. At least I don't think they were.

But they have run into troubles. Miller slipped the internal release date. And they missed it. It's probably not a restart, though.

Like they did before the teaser?

I've always known that deep down he is one of us.
His over the top enthusiasm is just a desperate attempt to quiet the monster within that, once released, would make me look like George Broussard's doormat.

With all due respect to my fellow Humans and Duke Fans alike, I am not one of you after all. Alike but not quite, the big difference between I and Dave and you guys is that... We are EXTREMELY positively optimistic and enthusiastic beyond your rational belief about DNF. We know that it will ROCK HARD OVER ANY GAME WE'VE PLAYED OR SEEN. We are confident 100% with no negative feeling, that we will see a Trailer and possibly a demo too. The release date for DNF is highly scheduled for this year or early next year at worse. However there's no doubt that we will see and experience DNF more this year.

Dave and I truly appreciate and love the Media we've received altogether up until now about DNF. We are very excited and happy always to watch the Teaser Trailer and Gameplay Footage from the Jace Hall Show. We are getting ready for the Trailer and more DNF, I suggest you guys do the same. For now we are going to keep ourselves busy, like by playing Resident Evil 5 and a Couple more games as Aliens Colonial Marines etc, until the King Finally Returns this year or the next for sure. You know We definitely can't wait for more DNF!! It's making us excited and crazed for it, however we are controlling ourselves as best as we can. In the meantime let's take it easy and do our best in this life as usual, until we finally get to play and experience this epic game in the very near future.

Thanks so much for your continued patience and support for waiting on 3DR for DNF. Rest Assured More Media, and most or all of what you ask for about DNF is Coming. As the light at the end of the tunnel nears more closer to end. This game will absolutely make up for all the time it took, remember those who wait shall receive. Therefore in conclusion this highly anticipated MOST LEGENDARILY EPIC BADASS SUPREMELY AWESOME COOLEST GREATEST game in the world... Is sure to Please beyond reality and limits to all Duke 3D Action Fans Alike with Liberty under G-O-D.

ALWAYS BET ON DUKE!! DUKE NUKEM FOREVER!!
