IIRC second episode is supposed to be situated in ancient Egypt, and other two will be in asia and medieval europe, right?
Good luck with it anyway :P , I hope that train map from trailer video will be featured in next release.

Close, you got Egypt and Asia mixed up as it's this episode which has parts heavily inspired by Shadow Warrior (with the AMC TC gameplay twist of course)

And yep that train map will show up in this release, don't worry :P

There was plans for up to a 5th one, wherether we actually get there is another different story. I think up to the 3rd one is pretty much guaranteed, after that we'll have to see how much interest there is and if people still want to map for it.

Finishing business, it depends on what length the 4th episode would go to (Of course it's worth remembering only the first 'part' of an episode is themed, the rest is much more loose)

...this is probably delving way into the future so we should worry about episode 2 first :P All I can say is the only thing I'm worried about is trying to make Episode 3 even better because 2 is shaping up to be pretty amazing.

By the way: I was wondering, do you plan on adding some more vehicle sections to Episode 2 or the following ones?
I found the driving sections in both AMC TC and Imagination World v2.0 very well done and entertaining.

Definitly, in fact yesterday I just built a new Vehicle testing map that you can gain access to in Episode 2, it'll let you test all the vehicles ingame.

I got a question:

If episode 2 introduces new members/characters, what will be of episode 1 members/characters? Will they still be playable through episode 2? Is it worth buying all of the speciality weapons for them?
If they aren't going to be playable, could you tell us which ones so we don't waste our budgets buying speciality weapons?

Episode 1 characters won't be going anywhere, they will always be playable on the multi-character maps unless they are either killed off or suffer a debilitating injury:)

The weapon ideas aren't too feasible as I don't have graphics for them, but there will be an ample selection of new gun to use in episode 2. The Migo/Yellow Sign ideas won't be in, as Episode 2 begins a stronger shift towards the main plotline of the TC (However the relative freeform approach like Episode 1 will still be there, there will just be ties to the 'main' story in several missions) There will be a level set on Mars that will be an important mission, somewhat similar to your idea, so there is that at least :P I would love to add all the story ideas people have put forward, but right now it's just me and Micky actively mapping with Sang contributing when he can, and Mikko does plan to get involed again after summer.

There is more voice acting from the main guys (except Rusty and Geoffrey, I believe they've pretty much left the modding scene completely but I'm hoping when EP2 is nearly finished they will still be up for doing voice overs) Don't worry, I have been re-reading all the suggestions here and tried to incorporate what I could, when I could.

The great thing about the TC compared to vanilla Duke is that gameplay changes quite a lot as you play in the higher difficulties. All those extra features that you thought were pointless/excessive like looking around corners, and all the various combat rolls/maneuvers (not to mention the upgrades over the course of your previous playthrough) become very important, and the game gains a much deeper level of realism, tactics and skill.

This, combined with the multiple playable characters, makes the TC have a huge amount of replay value.

I was playing the Providence mission this morning and I heard the bell toll when my clock struck 12:00. Now that's definitely an awesome feature to implement. Good job on the subtlety guys. :P I wonder how many other little snacks are embedded in this game...

From what I can tell, the main base map is light or dark depending on the time of day. So if it's night outside, it's probably night in the map, and vise versa. Also, don't forget what happens on christmas Posted Image

If you check inside the Church in Providence if the Bell stricks during a playthrough you'll find a neat little suprise in the lobby :) There's tons of little touches I put into the game..one of the smaller ones I haven't seen mentioned is the AMC soldiers stationed outside the base will have rain coats on. Check a member's room when it's their birthday IRL for a little sign as well :P (hint hint my BD is the 4th of September so you can see it if you check ou tmy room)

As micky said the base changes based on the time of day...I've improed that a bit for Episode 2 as well as other stuff.

Hi!

Amazing TC/mod! You guys are amazing! It is an awesome, vast, fun TC and a hymn to the power of an entire community :P
I'm having a blast playing this and actually playing with it! From testing stuff with mapster to playing around with some of the sprites and art files.

By the way I actually edited the katana sprites, just for fun and because it kept reminding me too much about Shadow Warrior. Here are some screenshots and a very brief video of a test using the Megabase.map

Like I said I did this just for fun, so does anyone else wants the respective edited art files? Does anyone think this is worth sharing?

Wow those look great! It would be great if you could upload the art - If it's ok, could replace the default sword with these sprites for Episode 2? I wanted a different sword for Lo wang's sword and keep his as a unique weapon but wasn't good enough at modifying the art, yours would be an excellent replacement for the default sword :P

You could post them in the community resources thread if you wanted too. As long as that's fine with you and James if he wants it for the AMC TC. They look like they're not too bad to me. Keep it up, dude.

Wow, thank you for the warm and positive feedback! And of course you can use it James. I feel honored.
I'd like if you could credit me, but it's such a minor aspect (took about an hour or less to do it) that I don't mind if you don't ;)

Do you guys have any suggestion for the upload service that I should use?

And Jimmy, I'll share it in that thread as well then (if James is ok with it, since I obviously did this with AMC resources and with the TC in mind).

Hmm, I would suggest just uploading the actual tiles as PNGs rather than uploading the whole art file, as far as filehosts go I still use mediafire myself but I don't know how well it would work for other people ;) I will most definitely credit you for the art, and of course it's your artwork so I'll defer to your decision on the sharing part :D

Once again, thanks for the kind words ;)

I sent the files to James so that the katana art files are release with an AMC update that James feels the right one to do so. After that I will share the "sources" with the community just like you suggested (I will be more then pleased).


By the way, I keep playing around with some sprites. This is just for personal fun, but I'd like to share it with you guys (it is still WIP also..). I love Bioshock Infinite handcannon/revolver so, inspired by it and using the same perspective and proportions, I'm creating a personal replacement for Rusty Nails main revolver.

Damn, that's also great - if you're fine with it, if you make any more replacements I'd be more than happy to make them into actual new weapons for Episode 2 if you send me the art (but of course if you want to keep it for personal use that's cool with me too ;) )
