AMC TC released - Merry x-mas!  "One hell of a christmas present"

I did completed the episode 1, really good, but after I killed the giant monsters that summoned by the witch...the cutscene is laggy as hell(fps is about 1 ~ 4) and I can't watch it, just skipped that...I was thought it was short but it really awesome.

Also, got crash on r2236 of eduke32 today when I try load my savegame. (yeah, I know it's wrong topic, but just lazy to go bug forum. :unsure:)

I also get the laggy cutscene, but I have NO idea what's causing it. On my old PC the game used to lag up around the transition after the boss fight, but that ending scene was fine.

Definitly sure? You have to read it on each playthrough of the map, not just once in all playthroughs. You'll know if you've read it because the codec conversation between James and Sang in the tunnel leading to the mines is different as well.

This will break savegames! it contains new gameplay code, so if you install this patch (by unzipping into the AMC TC directory) don't try to load your savegames as it will cause errors. Any research and weapons you've found/bought will remain in place, as long as your data folder is kept safe.

AMC TC v1.07
-Changed filenames so Eduke32 can just be run to start the mod
-Fixed graphic bugs with Mikko's shotgun reloading alternate shell
-Fixed spelling errors in various places
-Fixed error with PDU key screen showing normal keys and Abyss gate keys
-Fixed error with being able to wall-kick away constantly
-Fixed coding oversight with palette stuff
-Fixed Riotgun-minigun research topic displaying price availability wrong
-Fixed bug with Riotgun-minigun research topic not unlocking
-Fixed bug with jumping to exit Research terminal
-Fixed oversight with Grenade Launchers, reload anims no longer play when no grenades left
-Fixed being able to climb up rocks in Millhaven
-Modified Mech-Robot's grenade fire rate to be slower
-Modified Eggs and Protozoids to give a credit when destroyed
-Tweaked Dis Base, closed off redundant paths when final section reached
-Tweaked Armour Piercing bullets to do less base damage
-Tweaked readable stuff to only spawn glint if it hasn't been read yet
-Balanced Flesh Squirter to be more powerful
-Balanced Protecta to be less accurate
-Balanced Mikko's shotgun alt-fire not effecting accuracy
-Added extra description to Speed loading belt
-Added extra computer to training course explaining leaning
-Added extra detail and some minor TROR to Abyss

-Added option to disable facehugging enemies for players with phoebias

AMC TC v1.05
-Fixed issue with ABYSS jumppad
-Added teleport out of pit in AMCMIKKO
-Fixed keycard glitch, player movement now temporarily stopped
-Fixed bug with health research item
-Replaced Cage's textures

In order to unlock the Riotgun-minigun topic, you'll need to go back into weapons research and look at the Battlelord chaingun topic again. This should unlock the proper research for you if you've found the Riotgun as well.

Ah cool. So, I do not need to play through the whole episode all over again after beating it more then once? I ask because I did unlock the "good ending" and saving Lilith and all that jazz.

Correct, all the data is saved between the eduke32 config file and the data folder :unsure:

Congrats on saving Lilith btw!

Very cool, since I was stupid enough to accidentally delete my savegame anyway. Some case issues remain though, patch against 1.07 attached.

About the crash: I couldn't load the save game, but I'll probably be able to see it (unless it's already fixed) by looking at the cutscene map. So, which is it? Don't want to spoil the fun by searching them all.

edit: An update to the latest synthesis eduke32 is strongly encouraged, since filing bug reports will be more effective.

Woops, forgot about checking the CON file extensions since I have them hidden. I also made an error with the ogg files and didn't change the extensions on them either (which I've fixed for the 'main' re-release) I couldn't get the patch program to work unfortunately but somebody else on moddb played it succesfully with linux so I just need to remember to convert everything to uppercase.

I should of included a new snapshot with the patch but on the other hand they're very frequent lately so I didn't want to include an outdated exe with a normal patch. When I repackage and re-release the proper patched version to moddb I will include the latest snapshot at that point.

EDIT: If you deleted your savegame, as long as your .cfg file remains you can jump straight into any level you've already beaten. Just head to the armory in the underground base section and go left; past the evidence computer is the mission select computer. Jump to the second base map if you're already past abyss :unsure:

BTW: did you guys had any issues with the mission select screen in the base? I noticed that if you simply go up to the console and press enter, you are unable to rotate/choose the levels/missions, you can only do that if you stand ON the console, then everything seems to work fine. At least I had this problem.

Just tested it, and I didn't need to stand on the console to use it. I'll take a look at the code for it just incase though.

Yeah, I'm really sure. Because I do want to save her and see the "good ending", I go to the room with Sang after he escaped from prison, get the item, read every pages of the diary, save my damn game, and go next until I fight the final boss. Then I killed 3 of cults, let one left, kill the boss without killed the witch, so I don't know why it still refuse give me the "witch saved" ending... :unsure:

Now patch 1.07 released, so whatever, just time to restart the level and try again...hope this time I can use my kick attack normally...it was broke on my 2nd run savegame for some reasons...I suspect it was goes wrong when I cannot kicking and noclip-ed some doors that needed kicking... :3

For me, pressing strafe right makes it lock up for some reason.
Edit: That means, I can't turn the planets anymore, no matter what I do, after I pressed strafe right.
Pressing strafe left makes it switch correctly, and the arrows to the right and the left can't be clicked it seems.

Just as a note, in the Wiki you called the TT-33 "Tokorev", but the man who designed the pistol is called Tokarev. Just like the Sniper rifle is called Dragunov after its maker. No idea if that was intentional to avoid copyright problems or just a typo.

Not intentional, just keep forgetting to spell it correctly :unsure: Fixed it, thanks for pointing it out.

I'll take a look at the Lilith issue, but it's probably related to save games. I barely ever use them so I don't reall yencounter issues with them too much.

Well, I got the good ending after reloading the boss fight, before that I also got the normal ending but after doing the steps to save Lilith, I got the different ending. I am not sure how this ending will affect future episodes tho but I am still happy I did it.

The big snowing area on "For Providence" level is give me a low fps about ~21 fps in some angles of player view, near the final ending cutscene when I controlling John Mason to surface and go to the snowing area, it getting worse, like about ~10 fps.
I suspect the snow effect cause very low fps on final ending cutscene because it's nears that area...just a guess. :P
(I still try running on that map to get witch saved...)


EDIT : ...I did found out why I can't get the saving witch ending...OH SHIT I DID SOME STUPID SHIT....../facepalm

Ok, I think due my stupidity for cheating with god mode for lazy to load my savegame after read the diary and then my Sang got killed (by those damn enemies :unsure:) before the communication cutscene between James and Sang. If I do cheat God mode to relive my Sang, then I won't get the alt. conversation until I read that book again...if I read again and trigger the cutscene then I get the alt. conversation...

Hmm, looks like at first time I DIDN'T realize I always got the normal conversation due my stupid lazy cheating...I was thought I triggered alt. one but in fact, it's not...You can just blame me... >_<"

BTW: I deleted my old saves so I could get back to the base again and played the first 2 missions, is the ending I got the first time around still saved or do I now need to replay everything again?

The ending is saved, it's only reset if you play Snow again and don't save her :unsure:

I finished this great TC first episode two days ago, very impressive, i wait next episodes...

However, i have to list some bugs, i don't know if they are already known:
- I think fascists' laser was already avaialble to soldiers before i researched it
- Many times the MP40, M4 and hell weapons in the weapon room are not present
- MP40 appeared in the room before i found it, also for the katana, which i never found... or i don't remember it
- I prefered to save Lilith, but it has been a quite hard because weapons track her automatically, even if i disable autoaim
- weapons with zoom need a better recalc of z angle, moreover i don't like the screen wacking when firing with barrett rifle because it resets the aim ... maybe it's better to act on horiz and horizoff

I hope this can help this TC to be better and better!

Okay, something I wanted to address: in the level "Snowbase" in the lab with the Bruiser, there is a sign saying "Arbeit Macht Frei". Who put it there? I hope you are aware where this slogan comes from. I know I am the only one bringing that up but the whole thing is really problematic.But maybe I am just seeing things or something. Just wanted to point that out.

A controversial choice, indeed, however the scientist are forced to work against their will to reinforce their enemies, so that sign it's not completely out of place.

I found it more problematic to see a sign that says "No Hippies Allowed" or something like that only a short distance from a Blink 182 poster, hahahah.

It's for wussies who are too frightened of enemies that get all up in the screen, like the cultist's who will choke you.

Oh no the cultists still choke you, it's more for potential future enemies :unsure:

As for the sign in Snow base...we did have people in the team express concern towards it but I didn't veto it's inclusion since it's pretty vague and I didn't want to interfere with Mikko's map. There are serious subject matters and stuff that could potentially be crossed in the future...and at the end of the day AMC TC is an adult TC (even ignoring the comedy side of it there's horrific violence, plenty of swearing and minor nudity in some places)

Those invasion maps are really hard! It feels like they were designed for coop or something. I tried a few out, on piece of cake, and there were hundreds of bad guys, a lot of them were quite tough, and I couldn't even get the slot 5 weapon most of the time. I understand that they're meant to be a challenge, but can they be toned down a bit for piece of cake?
