Of course he can. Randy is the only man who can do DVDA with six cheesy black ones. Think about that.

He likes his fans how he likes his men: Desperate and covered in his shit.

He's gonna sue me for defamation now LOL

i can't help it.. but Mad Max RW, you should really lower your expectations how much people care about your shit.

and: what's up man.. the reloaded team agreed to the license terms and now gbx doesn't give them a release date right now - so yes, that's their right and honestly, if i would be gbx, i would do the same if i had some dlc's to release first.

so i ask again: what's the problem?

They can always find room for the nuts.

@Mad Max RW, didnt your hear? Randy was a mediocre magician, he might turn up at your doorstep and make you dissappear into a cloud of bees or something, or at the very least try get you in a headlock for a minute or two, before calling AdamF for back up with a rape whistle.

I do care! If what you are saying is fact, it looks like Gearbox should invest in a proper PR corporation. To have a marketing person only at the public eye is a mistake - again if what you are telling is fact. Posted Image

As evidence see post below. This is bad news here.

I already explained yesterday. A lot of people are pissed off how I broke the news to every website along with sending dozens of leaked screenshots to prove the game was actually real (and fairly polished I might add). It's making Gearbox look like a bunch of assholes.

They're just threatening me to track down the leaker(s) on their own team.

Well, I checked. I looks like that credible game sites don't bother posting leaked images and the others seem to think Interceptor simply can't handle making a real game, and post no images either. Thus, to track you or the one leaking stuff is almost pointless, let alone sue him/her.

Keep in mind, I don't give a shit about the project until I can download it; but I do care very much what Interceptors does, because any fuck up on their part may affect other potential teams wanting to do stuff with Duke Nukem and Gearbox. And at this moment, Interceptor is making Gearbox the scape goat for putting the project on hold. This smells to high heaven. So your action does not damage Gearbox but Interceptor's.

They are working hard now to cover up the recent drama. Topics are getting locked, fresch censored himself on his own website, and the whole thing is getting very fishy. I posted this on the GBX forums putting it into perspective. I'll re-post it here just in case they decide to delete it:
------------------------------------------------------

I noticed fresch removed the explanation from the duke reloaded website. Here is the original, unedited version explaining everything in his own words:

Quote

We are around 90% finished with the current Multiplayer version--but you have to remember, that we don't own the game. It's done under a signed license with Gearbox Software, which ultimately means that we cannot do whatever we want with the project. It's not really up to us. We have had a long conversation with Gearbox about this matter. And the fact is, that we are bound by a license. A license of an IP owned by Gearbox Software. And we can't do much about it. [Facebook]

After careful consideration of the progress and direction of the project, Interceptor Entertainment has decided to finish Duke Nukem: Reloaded at a future date that is yet to be determined. Interceptor Entertainment still has the good will and non commercial license provided to us to use the Duke Nukem brand for our creative ambitions. We hope to resume that work again when the time is right.

In the interim, please know that the praise and support we received for our efforts has been both overwhelming and appreciated. Interceptor Entertainment looks forward to revisiting the DNR project in the future, along with several other new, creative pursuits. Our fans can rest assured: We are going to focus our efforts on exciting endeavors and we welcome the challenges that await us!

With sincere gratitude to our fans for their incredible support,

Interceptor Entertainment

In their forum he clarifies:

Quote

We don't care about either official releases, Steam or any other services.
We just care about getting the game in the hands of our fans - And the license didn't allow for that.
Its as simple as that

Then stefan fueger (fuegertef on the GBX forums) replies (what he said is in bold):

Quote

Duke_Forever wrote:So the game is on hold until Gearbox eventually gives you the right to release more info? So, the hold has nothing to do with Gearbox, except that they still won't give you the green light to release more info? O_o

That is basically it.

Here's what the team is doing now:

Quote

As the Lead 3D artist on Duke, I would just like to reiterate this. This was our team decision to stop working on Duke Reloaded. We were given a great opportunity by Gearbox and feel in no way cheated out of anything. We are very grateful for allowing us to work on the project.

With that said, I feel some people may be reading into this to much and putting a needless amount of blame on Gearbox.

We as a team felt it was time to move onto a new project. That simple.

Lead 3D Artist
Nick Quackenbush
Duke Nukem: Reloaded

I think it makes sense to put this all into one organized post using their own words before they are censored or try back peddling. Plus it's easier than re-reading pages of shit to figure everything out. Also, I'd like to add I found out their "90% finished" claim is nowhere near reality.

If we take Nick Quackenbush at his word, then it puts a very different spin on things. Maybe they decided that they would be better off making a game that they could actually have the rights to and sell, rather than work under GBX's constraints.

For all we know, they got bored of making something Duke related or having to do a "remake" and instead wanted to make their own stuff.

I think it's a combination of what DeeperThought said and the fact their SINGLE PROGRAMMER wasn't capable enough to finish this thing by himself. Look at the Reloaded team. It's a huge group of artists and one guy doing all the code work. Nobody does free coding on mods anymore because of how time consuming it is. Capable ones are damn near impossible to find. If they know what they're doing they might as well get paid.

A couple hours later....

Now Gearbox isn't allowing any discussion of Reloaded on their forums until there is "news".

you just boosted my self esteem, lol

But actually level design is much more time consuming, I think (if it is done right).

OK what's the point of having a discussion forum if everyone has to STFU?

Eh, actually I was saying that the DN3D:R team needs to STFU. Which is something they've needed to do from day one. Big mouth idiots, and it sure as shit takes one to know one.

...Gearbox didn't put a hold on it, they (Interceptor) decided to postpone it themselves.
Gearbox just wants to keep a lid on media for a little while

So basically the fans will never have the chance to actually play a decent Duke Nukem fps game in a modern engine.

3DR shut down all mod atempts during the long DNF development time because that would hurt the hype for their very anticipiated game.

When finally the game is released, everybody realizes its a piece of ***** and still we can't do ***** with Duke because will hurt potential sales of upcoming DLC of the same ****** game.

Someguy tried to put Duke on the goldsrc engine - SHUTDOWN by 3D realms. Another dude tried to put Duke on the Source engine (awesome btw) - SHUTDOWN by incompetent dumbass broussard.. DNF is finally released - Hell, we're screwed again, because the game ITS A GODDAMN PIECE OF SHIT. Now the D3DR team is with hands attached as well - PUT ON HOLD BY GEARBOX.

Our only option is to wait for the whatever upcoming Duke game developed by Gearsoft. Wait, wait and wait. And while that, play Duke 3D, because DNF has ZERO lasting value and lack of mod tools.

These guys want to kill Duke, is that it? I think they're aren't satisfied with the whole game media making fun at Duke because of the awful fucking game they released , they want us to leave Duke behind as well.

EDIT: The Cryengine 3 mod of Duke 3D is outstanding. Too bad the modder will never be able to do **** with it, gearbox won't let.

Right. In 3DR's case, it wasn't about hating on the fans, it's just that 3DR did not want people using their intellectual property because of potential legal issues that could arise for 3DR, as well as ignorant people claiming it's a legit Duke game implying it's made by 3DR. That was just their policy, and they were always consistent, you KNEW what they were going to do. Although, they didn't mind at all if fans created mods for Duke3D or Manhattan Project or whatever. Now as far as Gearbox is concerned, I cannot point out any evidence for being complete dicks about the whole thing, but it just seems like they're really stupid.

This CRYMod 3 "remake" of Hollywood Holocaust is the best renderization of the level i've ever seen. The guy did it by himself?

EDIT: Its never bad to remind that CRYSIS 2, a game published by EA (EA!!) has mod tools. And, if i'm not mistaken, released even BEFORE the map packs.

At this current time, the best remake of Hollywood Holocaust would be this version for Source imo.

If this Crysis one actually comes out and doesn't die then it may take the cake.

That map is cool, I know it. That map is very detailed but doesn't really feel like a Duke Nukem 3D map.
That's why me and a mate decided at one point to remake Duke 3D on source and trying to keep to Duke 3d's feeling.
Too bad that we both lost our spare time soon after we started working at that shit.
I really liked where our project was going and it was what I wanted to play in a remake of duke 3d (me being a big fan of duke 3d's ambient)

For those that didn't get to see screenshots of our project, take a look here.
http://forums.duke4....ust-fanart-wip/

I really liked how we nailed this area here, it felt very true to duke 3d
Maybe we will pick this up again in the future if everybody else fails.

imo it doesn't have to "play" like a DN3D map, but it still has that DN3D vibe/feel to it and that it's not a complete duplicate of the original map and has other features. (aka the playable arcade machines etc)

The game has NOT been cancelled.
But you have to put your self in our situation -
I cannot justify having 40+ guys working day and night on a project,
which future isn't clarified.

I'm sorry, but there's no way none of you guys wasn't aware of this kind of situation of "uncertain future", I mean, If you reunited with the owners of the IP, debated and all, there's no reason to change the development plan UNLESS any of the parts didn't comply on what was agreed on before. Otherwise, you can't just say that "unclarified future" was the reason to "hold" the project.
