Seriously, my posts are in no way trashy. They are analytical and based on the outcome of this event, myself and others were completely right. To call any of it trashy is ignoring whats in front of you.

We all can go a bit crazy when people sell a lie just as well as this. Look at all the news sites that reported Alien Noire. Pretty sure all of the gaming world became that much more disappointed. haha

I hope people will direct some questions towards Bethesda, as they've completely mislead people for over a year with their nonsense quality issues claims. That's a far greater sin than anything this site has done. By the sounds of things Human Head wanted a little more time to fully realize Prey 2's potential after an overwhelmingly positive reaction, but Bethesda was more or less keen to have another Hunted or Brink-type success. Now they'll have to spend more money remaking the game from scratch or completely reworking and removing all of the Human Head-owned tech inside the game than they ever would've if they supported the developer in the first place. I want this game dammit!

The "quality" argument was said months after alleged refusal of HH to continue developement. I'm not saying that Beths aren't somehow screwed Prey2's development up, but they haven't misled anyone. The game isn't ready to be released, and they removed it from their line-up of games this year.

Yes, they have mislead people. The game was almost ready to be released. With a few more months work it would be taking up space on your hard drive. I'm telling you they aren't working on it! Why would Human Head Studios still be negotiating with Bethesda if someone else was working it? Bethesda are still shopping it around to awesome second-rate devs like Rebellion. No progress has been made.

Off topic: I still believe at one point DNF was one of the best shooters in world (2000,2001). Then they moved to a real time renderer and bad stuff followed.

It was a dirty move. It was misleading. The site would have gotten as much attention if it just came out with it. Countdowns usually are used to count down to something.....a website is not "something". It just rubs me the wrong way. It got everybody's hopes up just to try and garner a little more attention. I submit that it would have been more popular and more well received had they not used the countdown. It may have taken a little longer to garner the audience, but at least that audience wouldn't feel cheated and used.

Well, they never announced the website to the public when they posted it. It's only because I stumbled across it on Google search that I even knew it existed. They only made two posts on Twitter during the last week or so I think. Once I realized that I edged off on my frustration some. It's just some guys who like the game and put some effort into trying to raise awareness for it, which is more than people chatting on forums. I'd be more upset if they were selling something that I didn't want or using Prey 2 to promote something that has nothing to do with the game.

The seed of my frustration is thinking Bethesda was going to finally say something. Then they did... yes! But is was only... We have nothing to do with this countdown website. And that was it... WTF. Did they forget about how to promote games? You tell the fans once in awhile how it's going.

That's 18 months without any new details! Bethesda have treated Prey fans like garbage. They've ignored literally thousands of questions over the past 10 months, and there doesn't seem to be any sign of that changing in the immediate future.

Me too! I'm getting really annoyed at Bethesda. A year without any news, 18 months without any media. What the hell's wrong with them? They won't even say the name Prey 2. It's a pretty bad sign.

Maybe after the recent Thief announcement Bethesda will focus it's attention on Prey 2 and give it some love. By all accounts it hasn't been touched for while.

Bethesda tends to take there time with games, and I'm not a major fan or anything, but they don't tend to follow fads (excluding jumping on the MMO train). I mean they took 5 years in between the Elder Scrolls games unlike many other major franchises. They'll definitely make another Dishonored game as it's the only non-rpg game that was a big success. That will probably be a long ways out. In the meantime they should revisit Prey 2, finish it off and ship it.

You probably shouldn't interchange Bethesda Game Studios with Bethesda Softworks. Besides, unlike Dishonored, Prey 2 was developed by an outside studio.

I didn't and all Bethesda's games are published by Bethesda Softworks who oversee costs, production needs and marketing. Arkane isn't an independent studio. They are wholly owned by Bethesda.

Yeah you're right. Zenimax is the umbrella corporation and owns both of them. But day to day operations are overseen by Bethesda Softworks. I just wish we could get a Prey 2 update. I would love to see some new media, particularity of the other environments. It looked absolutely gorgeous.
