So, I bought a new TV Tuner card and a dual channel kit of DDR3 RAM to up to 8GB from New Egg. It arrived today and after I got the RAM installed I discovered that my motherboard does not support more than 4GB (2GB per slot) DDR3....
So, I take out the new sticks and put in the old sticks but then it still doesn't boot so I go through the process of elimination and after I take out my 2 half gig sticks it boots up...
Ergo, I meant to upgrade to 8GB but now I'm down to 2GB....and in the process of putting things together, I must have disconnected my PATA cable so I have no DVD drive and one HDD is out until I fix it again....and I don't feel like it.

At least I still have a functional TV card/DVR.

Anyway that guy who made the crapy maps recently said that Doom has a story, and that Duke hardly has any story at all.

Although from what I played (just the first few levels of doom 1 and 2, I got bored after that because all the levels felt very similar), it doesn't have any story at all. I image all it'd have is a help screen briefly explaining what happened leading up to the start of the game, and after that it's just a guy going around blowing stuff up.

I know that there's a doom bible with an intricate story, but the actual game itself doesn't have anything more than Duke 3D in terms of plot does it?

It's very unlikely he was talking about Doom 3. And I'll take it from that comment that Doom 1 and 2 don't have any real story.

and then what? I downloaded the file, opened in mapster and deleted it. Never bothered wasting my time further with it.

Also. I'm a Doom fan! As in fanatic. Doom3 made a story and forced me to play it. This is risky business. Honestly, I don't understand the 'must have story mania'. Make a good FPS. Give me a challenge, let me wander a bit ...
