The thread is a joke, don't pull a Falwell on me now.

Jerry Falwell is in hell and that is all I have to say about that.

I looked at the thread (I'm really really bad at avoiding things like that) and agree with Helel's assessment of it.

Yeah at first I thought it was going to be some theological debate, but then it just turned out to be some video of a guy I've never heard of survive a car crash because he wasn't wearing a seat belt. Big whoop, in Australia everybody wears a seat belt. It's almost like breathing; you just do it automatically.

Bender: Pfft, those things cost more lives than they save.

Then he gets himself into an accident.

I think it would be a hoot if that thread got renamed to "I like to inhale farts".

That would be pretty funny.

Looks like Sanctuary is coming back in April 2012 for a full 5th season--22 episodes. Unlike the 13 we got for season 4. Season 4 was very good, aside from one episode.

Upgraded my SSD's firmware because there was a bug which would have it restart every hour after 5000 hours.

I always wanted to go to Liberty university just for shits and gigs. It wouldn't be any fun now that the ole' lardass is dead, though.

My mom is really hung up on this starting my own business thing. I'm kind of weary about it. I would rather work for someone than work for myself. She said you're not going to run a business with that attitude (eg. being kind of negative about the whole idea).

This is nuts.

Sure I did. Here is a 1:1 cover I tried to do with my guitar four years ago (9/8/2007):

I fail to understand why second-hand Roland JV-2080's are still so damn expensive, more expensive in fact, than Yamaha's MU modules from that time...

Come to think of it, I've never understood why other people that are into Synthesizers seem to have this in-built fanboyism for Roland despite the fact they've never actually made anything decent since the 1960's and even that equipment was questionable and don't even get me started on Korg kiddies!

Seriously though, where does the Roland fanboyism come from? It's half the reason the industry is bollocks nowadays, I think the other companies probably just gave up.

Casio CZ was better than Roland Jupiter, it was cheaper than the Jupiter too, but the jupiter sold more... So what about the 90's, Yamaha MU was better than Roland's SoundCanvas series, but the SoundCanvas sold more and the Yamaha has a reputation for being rubbish, personally, I fail to see how Roland could consider the SoundCanvas (i.e. SC-88) a competitor, it sounds like a cheap keyboard as opposed to a decent module - using it in the PC (SCC-1) was probably a good idea, but even then it isn't really practical as it relies entirely on the CPU (Hence I preffered the UltraSound). And finally they brought out that JV-2080 (Circa 1998), which was still not as good as Yamaha's MU series, although I have to hand it to them on that one, it was a decent module, I certainly preffered it over the EM-U Proteus and the Korg's that were around back then.

Massive drop in temperature today. Down to -31 C without the windchill. Supposed to warm up in the next few days.

Funniest thing I've heard all day

Yes, the beer is a very important part of the process.

Highly dependent on the beer, of course. I'm slowly trying various imports of interest as I find them. Hoegaarden currently tops my list, but I've had an interesting English dark ale called Hobgoblin. When I first tried it, I described it in my notes as thus - smoky scent; very dark, dense, sweet; a full-bodied ale; rather like molasses. It's not my most favorite of beers, but it's still pretty good.

If I want something easy/domestic to drink, I'll usually opt for a Miller Lite or Yuengling. I hate Budweiser products.

Only slept for two hours last night because the motherfucking smoke alarms kept going off in our apartment for no apparent reason (and they can't be deactivated).

If it makes you feel any better, my foot got ran over by an electric pallet jack last night, so...yeah...

The smoke alarm went off in my apartment last night too...I heard it and thought "well, I don't smell smoke and nothing seems like it is on fire..." but I did turn off my computer on the off chance the noise came from the board. Of course, I also just went to bed...I'm going to die one day in a fire in my residence...

The number of times in my life that I have been made miserable by smoke alarms: About 100

The number of times that a smoke alarm has helped me or my family: Zero

I hate the fucking things and I am more than willing to risk not having them around. Maybe I would feed differently if they weren't being forced on me with no way of adjusting or temporarily disabling them.

My last neighbor's smoke alarm was always going off. He loved to cook. Food smelled really good.

A demo for The Darkness 2 comes out tomorrow morning, I can't wait. Its one of my favorite games ever.
Also a co-op demo for Syndicate is coming out too; a remake of a game I know nothing about but its being made by Starbeeze who made the amazing Riddick games and the first Darkness.
