What does seem to be improved is lighting. I can't see something else that got improved other than lighting.

So we pretty much have an official confirmation that DNF is using 2007 assets with slightly improved shaders and a new texture here and there...
I guess we all knew this more or less but now we have real proof of this.

I think they just photoshopped the old pic. The dead EDF soldiers aren't wearing the current EDF uniforms.

Exactly. You can't base current DNF's graphics on that picture because it's the same 2007 pic with some enhacements made in photoshop.

The only thing that could be photoshopped is the orange lighting but the pic is not the same as the old one if you look closely enough you will see a few differences in the ground texture and some of the bodies from the ground are in slightly different positions in this new pic...

No it's not the sake fucking pic, look at the dead bodies they are not int he same position.....
The EDF body from the upper right has it's head moved in a completely different direction than in the 2007 pic.

If it's true it means the dead bodies are a separate asset from the living EDF soldiers. Kind of lazy that Gearbox didn't change their uniforms to match.

Wow, you are right. Well i think we can all take it for diversity's sake.
But different EDF designs from 2 different generations left in the same game should prove interesting lol...
More stuff to fix through skin mods? Question is, what would you rather mod, the skin of the live EDF memebrs to match the one of the dead ones or vice versa?

Or maybe there are various ranks of EDF soldiers, and that pig managed to massacre a group of Special Forces troops or something.

I personally don't give two shits if there isn't a nighttime Vegas map in the game. What matters to me is the level design in and of itself, that the game retains the city exploration elements from Duke3D. I want to be able to explore alleys, crawl through vents, get shrunk and go into small spaces, jump from rooftop to rooftop, interact with the scenery... stuff like that. It's what made me like Duke3D to begin with. As long as DNF has that, I'm fine.
I dealt with it being daytime in Duke Nukem 64, I can handle it here.
Besides, it's not Gearbox's fault. Before 3DR's staff/Triptych moved to GBX, every level was daytime, including the stadium. (which I'm glad was changed, simply because the newer, dark rainy version is just much more epic.)

There is a night-time Vegas map but it might only be in multiplayer. One of the PC Gamer scans had a screen of it.

One of the leak videos shows the Vegas Battlelord fight during nighttime. The buildings also had their "lights on" textures. You can see those textures better in the Duke Burger Feature on the official DNF site.

10 things you didn't know about Duke Nukem Forever:
1) Duke's strip club was originally called "The Slick Willy". Bill Clinton reference-
changed to "Titty City" because he's no longer Pres.
2) Used facial animation from George Bush when he screwed up the "fool me once"
line. Used it for the president in DNF but cut after Bush left office.
3) There is a joke about the Christian Bale flip out that is still in game.
4) Developers accidentally made a mode that gives the game a scetchbook look. Gearbox
is unsure but hopeful the mode makes it in.
5) Area 51 is in the game and there is a reference to the "Andromeda Strain" movie
while getting there.
6) Golf cart, motorcycles, boats, airport tow truck were all considered as vehicles for the
