How many of you have given up hope? "I know I have"

So in short; I haven't given up hope, just putting it in the back of my mind until something really juicy about it pops up somewhere on the interbutts.

Oh that just stupid. What you should have said is: the more time passes the bigger JOKE Duke will become.

No, that wasn't spelled correctly. Dude, Google Chrome and Firefox have spell-checkers built in. You don't want anyone knocking your estimated age down any further.
Splat is right. If you ask around gamers and game sites, they all love Duke. They fondly remember the 'old game' and says it brings back a lot of good memories.
DNF is seen as a joke, but everyone perks up at news of DNF (not just Dukers or DNF troglodytes) because they are all keen to play some modern (new) Duke.

I haven't given up hope, but I think that when they do work on the game again, they should concentrate on making it good and getting it out, and not worry about giving it the absolute latest engine. They can always make another one.
I have a feeling it's gonna come out, but it might take a while.
But if I'm wrong however, there are games that can be modded into the next Duke, even if they'd have to be shareware. Maybe like Half-Life 2, if the game had an editor. It certainly has some of the best models appropriate for Duke.

No. There have been several attempts to re-make Duke with modern graphics and models in other game engines. 3DR has issued cease-and-desist orders in each case. We have to use EDuke32 or zip.

Easy. By reading news. For example, there was a Duke Nukem: Source mod being made, that never came to be due to the fact that 3D Realms shut it down.

So have I. I've spoken to a lot of people who have played and loved Duke Nukem 3D, even those who are younger than I. I've even played it at my school on field day, and at least 5 students in my class recognized it. Though, in my small town, not very many people have spectacular computers, and there were still a lot of DOS Machines around (Still are), and thus, everyone played the older games. Hell, when I was in elementary, there was Windows 2000, yet we still played Commander Keen, or Crystal Caves/Secret Agent on the Windows 3.1 machines. I fuckin' grew up with Apogee/3D Realms.

Well you and Tea Monster are the ONLY ones I know of who have seen people playing older games. Now everybody i MY elementary/High school was playing and talking about GTA, COD the newest console, how to sneak thier new psp in etc.
Honestly 95% of gamers don't know Duke, and ones who do don't seem to want anything to with it any more. I think only about 150 people will buy DNF out of roughly 6 billion people.

Well that ain't true, i'am still playing Duke 3D on my PSP/PC/Laptop. And if DNF will be released, i would definitly buy the game just to have that same feeling i always have with Duke 3D.

if it's good and nobody buys it then people will consider it an "underappreciated classic" like psychonauts, and if it's shitty and everyone buys it then 3drealms will have probably made back all or at least a good portion of what they spent making the damn game

3DRealms will have no more reason to exist. Everybody will tell them "We told you so!", nobody will trust them anymore even as producers and the world will have the proof that WID does not work for commercial projects.

Nearly project that came close to completion and was getting increased web traffic/exposure actually did post that they have been approached/warned or given a Cease Order.
I know screen shot or it didn't happen, well bite me, I have neither the time or inclination to go back and find it, but it was there.
