This mod is great, so much fun, I played it on a GTX 680 and if ran extremely well. A few slowdowns, except the gameplay more than makes up for any small quibbles. It is extremely fun and if you are like me and can't get enough Duke, you should try it out! :D

How does this play on some of the somewhat older ATI cards (58xx, 68xx)? Just wondering, I do not have anything ATI above a 4650 to try it on, or I would test it and report how it runs.

Where is the yellow lock on the first level, I got the yellow key after killing the assault commander, but no place to use the key on

Check the ventilation ducts :(.

I like this mod, but i think that some things should have been done better, sometimes C4 won't work and in the last part of Level 4, the room to open the bridge will imprison the player with invisible walls.

I remember the bug with the invisible walls at end of level 4. It happens only in the latest 2.0 version of the mod. In the old 1.3d version of the mod, it worked fine.

The solution to get past that part in level 4 in version 2.0 is to either use DNCLIP to get out of the glitched part or if you don't want to use cheats, before you enter that building, try to cross the broken bridge with the steroids if you still have them. You need to strafe run and you should be able to do that, skipping the need to access the bridge from the inside.

I hope the bug will be eventually fixed. I intend to replay the mod sometime in the future and can't decide whether to play the old 1.3d version or the latest buggier 2.0 version. Or both. :unsure:

EDIT: Also be careful to not save while a super trooper is active in the level, whether is alive or dead. If you load that save, the game will crash. The solution is after killing the super trooper, destroy its body with an explosive and then you can save the game and load without problems. I guess it has to do with the fact that the mod is resource heavy and poorly optimized. Or my computer just wasn't powerful enough to play the mod, as I remember it also kept crashing at certain times, sometimes it crashed when loading the next level, so I had to switch to 8-bit mode (which would result in some black squares on screen), exit the level, save at beginning of next level, exit game and then switch back to 32-bit mode and continue the game. Note that most of these issues were in the 2.0 version of the mod, I remember it rarely crashed the 1.3d version of the mod but the latest 2.0 is very poorly optimized and requires a very powerful computer! Hope this helps!

Damn, i've deleted the past versions, i thought "oh yeah, this is the final one, it can't be buggy as the old ones" and... "surprise, surprise, you need the old ones" lol.

I'll prefix that usually i always try to use the eduke 20140907-4593, because i like the weapon switching deficiencies (i know that is not as the game is supposed to be, don't kill me pls :(), it made DNE run better on it (even with HRP polymer, but sometimes was needed to switch to polymost), anyway, never saved when a S.Trooper was active, I can say i saved the game many times right before to meet one or after killed one, so, maybe the eduke version do the trick sometimes.

Are you suppose to fight a battlelord on level 2 911? Because after the cutscene, I regain control of Duke, and I see Duke and the Battlelord just standing there.

I know the feeling. :( At the moment I recommend you to continue playing the current version and if you want to do a clean playthrough, play the older 1.3d version too. The old version was also much better optimized, with less bugs, crashes, etc.

I don't recommend using older builds of EDuke32 as they become outdated quickly. The latest builds of EDuke32 are generally better than the previous builds, with exception of rare cases when the newer builds break something critical, like breaking saving/loading, random crashing, etc.

In case of mods that come packed with an eduke32.exe file (like Eternity, I assume), it's better to stick with the included eduke32.exe in the folder, which is what you're supposed to be using to run the mod. If you use a different build than the supplied one, then the mod will most likely break in some ways.

Something is wrong, during the cutscene must happen some more stuff too, try to load another saved file if you can... My suggestion is to save the game often on different slots, so that you can try a workaround to some bugs, or try to play the older 1.3d version as RunningDuke said above (obviously you can't use the same saved files with another version), the chose is up to you.

I know and i agree with you, but i try them all xD, the latest one, the included one and the old one, in my case the old one worked better and smoother than the packed one, i for first admit that is weird that worked so well.

During the 3rd level, my Mp5 reverted back to a chaingun cannon, I try to set it back during the menu, but it said the option is locked by the author, how do I change this?

Try this. Open the console and type "setvar startweapons -1"

There are three variables that can be set by a map author at the start of a map. If they are set, then it locks any related options during that map. If the variable is unlocked, then it has a value of -1

The three variables are:

startweapons
startinventory
playermoves

It's been a while, but it looks like setting those all to -1 should unlock anything you need to unlock in the menu. That's assuming, of course, that the menu comes up at all.

Honestly, I don't remember well. Either you had to fight him or a friendly EDF soldier killed him during the cutscene.

One more question, it is not possible to have both a chaingun cannon and an mp5 together in dukeplus, right? One or the other right?

Correct. You have to go into the dukeplus menu and change the gun type to get the other gun, you can't do it subweapon style like switching between shrinker and expander. Oddly, I did do single/double barrel shotguns subweapon style. Also, if you have the battlelord minigun, you can switch between that and your chaingun/smg subweapon style.

so If I see both a mp5 and a chaingun cannon in the mappack, thats a fuck up by the mapper?

Not necessarily. They may have intentionally started the player with one of them and then switched to the other in a different map. There could even be a story reason for doing so.

iirc, it has a boosted hp stat and it took a lot of rpg rockets to kill it - the idea was to get the player to try to risk grabbing the ammo crates scattered around on the ground in front of it

-are you using the eduke32 & dukeplus that came with the mod?

if you aren't. that's the problem
if you are, then cheat yourself enough ammo to kill it

OK, i will try cheating a lot of ammo and kill him, thank you :rolleyes: (and yes, i'm using everything that came with the mod)
