I was highly hesitant of the tablets and touch screens before but when I got some of my own I just couldn't stop using them. I did play a few fps on my note 2 and it's not that bad at all, actually it is possible to play almost like on PC if you get used to it.

Eduke32 on touchscreen can only mean good news to me, the more platforms the better.

Boy, I can't wait for EDuke32 on Android. Finally, I can play mods and maps on my phone now too! :P I wonder if they actually run faster on my phone...

Yeah, Polymer isn't currently planned. Maybe if Plagman optimizes it someday.

Polymer without dynamic lighting works with the same fps as polymost.

Always thought that fps is the same. Actually, it's 2 times bigger in polymost. Anyway, polymer without lighting should work smooth on modern devices. You will need it, if you plan maps and mods support, since ror doesn't work well in polymost.

Well, for now if one wants a portable computer with a built-in display for basic purposes (such as using one as a companion for long trips and reading electronic books in general), then it seems like tablets are cheaper on average than many laptops. It is probably the case due to expectations from working laptops raising their costs, like x86 processors and a Windows license. And no, Linux distributions other than Android don't appear to be so common at the moment.

Note that ones may find (very?) few cheap notebooks/netbooks powered by Android. They may be less suited for certain tasks and appear to be less common than similar tablet-form setups, though.

To conclude, though, price and availability matter, more often than not.

You are unlikely to get an Nvidia Titan into your smartphone. :P :)

Seriously though, the nice people at Ubuntu have just released a version of their OS that runs on a smartphone. You can see where all that will be going once the hardware progresses sufficiently. Your 'desktop' will fit in your back pocket and you'll plop it into a dock that will have a screen and a keyboard attached (drop the screen if you are using a tablet).

It won't run Dishonored, but that is why you have an X-Box. Most people just want to check their mail, watch YouTube and update facebook - it will be fine for 80% of people who use a computer.

Most of the people on this forum won't want that, they will want a machine with some muscle. But the people who have an actual 'rig' will get to be an exception.

Nice! I like the mix of grey texture with natural rock and canyon textures, I hope you see more of the later like to surround the area or pretend the buildings were built in it.

Here you see Gun Crazy, Movie Set, Rabid Transit, Fahrenheit and Hotel Hell in a single map. I used the 64 version because of the subway in E1L2. Check it without the subway:

I didn't placed Hollywood Holocaust because I wasn't sure of how the elevator in the end connects to E1L2... and I don't think you can take what Nuclear Winter did serious.

That video of beta stuff that was around and the V0.99 seem to imply that there was a garage and a ramp of some sort between E1L1 and E1L2.

You mean that fire station? Ironically in the levels I put together, that part would lead to the fire station in Fahrenheit.

How does it look in software Fox? I'd bet it'll glitch a bit at some angles.

Personally I prefer to be more ambitious with TROR, such as this (partly) 3D starcase, all sector work (I tried sprites and they glitched due to the TROR). Glitch free in software.

All the TROR makes me feel old. :P It looks good though!

Here are some more screens from the red1 remake. These are some indoor sections I'm working on, including that restaurant "The rock" from the original level. As you can see, some sections will be partly demolished and show signs of decay and alien infestation.

Looks great! :P Yeah the TROR stuff is overwhelming when we've been building the old way for many many years, but once you start to experiment with it, it's hard to go back. It really is incredibly easy to use and opens up lots of possibilities.

The first part of the map. It's pre pre pre alpha :P
There won't won't be complex shadows anymore. It's simply too much work in combination with TROR.
