This is what it looks like in 2D mode, hopefully you can figure out how I created it.

Don't get down, even a huge high-poly game model is just made up of loads of little 3d dots called vertices. Every vertice looks just like a little dot, like this: "." with the space between the dots filled in with colour.
So if you think about it, anyone can make a great game model. All you have to do is "." the same number of times that the people at Epic games have rung up the old cash register for Gears of War.
It's simple when you think about it that way.

Ok I'll admit it! I'm a fraud! The only way I could build anything remotely close to that quality was stealing from WG's maps

OK, I gave it a try... am I doing it right?
I'm rather new at this... I may have to playtest the map to make sure this works properly.
Edit: So I tested the map, and I died instantly! I guess I made it a bit too difficult. Will have to tweak it a bit. Here's the 2D map for reference... Maybe someone can figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Edit: Let's see you use the jetpack on your level Hendricks
Looks too brown and bland. Like a modern shooter. 0/10

a prototype boy/girl twin - evil nature - catch? No clue how to render this in Blender, and the Dogmaten Schuhe are lost. But hey, my true first try

Here's how it looks on the map. Also, check out the amount of spritework.

Amazing stuff, but you should disable texture compression for that model to make it look perfect!

Make sure you make a game demo video showcasing dynamic and moody lighting and quality animations and then not put them in the final product. That seems to work.

I was going to post a shot with the tile 0 projected with a polymer spotlight, but luckily for you it doesn't seem to work. Apparently projections only work for tile 1 and above. I'm a bit surprised actually since if you don't want a projection you can just leave the owner as -1, therefore there's no reason for it to act the same way with owner 0.
But I'm sure Mark. can post a picture of something he's working on to get this thread back on topic
Edit: No? Ok, well this shot's been sitting on my computer for a while... it's an intro map for a certain episode which a lot of people should be able to guess.
