So? What has this to do with my post?

Wasn't it related to the animal cruelty? Though I guess I should have worded it better. My post is mostly related to animal cruelty itself, mainly related to dogs and cats (and I didn't understand correctly what you said, mainly because of clickbait video which I should have watched first). I actually didn't know that animal cruelty was just a fucking clickbait and that Pitchford simply twitted a video about cat vs crab fight, this is why I hate clickbaiters.

But anyway, cats are good at eliminating pests like mouses and rats, it is their best use. Dogs have even more benefits compared to cats, they're better at some things compared to humans too (like having better sense of smell, for example) and those traits can be used in various situations to benefit humans. This treatment you described in your rant is bad though since it makes them too much domestic and weak, too much comfort can spoil even humans and for animals it's even worse. Even domestic animals should not lose their connection to their "wild nature". I had a completely spoiled domestic cat once and he was exactly that, just a "toy" for kids or a piece of decor. It was quite bad because in a place I lived we had a bunch of various pests and the cat was fucking scared of them of course.

I don't think this is really about practicality. Though it is unbelievable to some, humans are capable of empathizing with other creatures. Cats and dogs especially since our historical symbiotic relationship has affected all three of our species biologically, albeit minorly.

We simply don't like seeing them in pain, just as we don't like seeing children or other people in pain (barring vengeance but unless a cat murdered your family I don't think this situation qualifies).

People like to laugh at animal videos if it's funny, unless of course they're getting abused physically (like getting beaten up, tortured, etc). But for example, cats in videos where people are trying to freak them out on purpose are getting bad treatment too. By very constant pranks you can fuck up their mental health pretty easily and they wouldn't be able to recover from that. It's even worse for kittens (had a bad personal experience myself when I was a kid). A cat with fucked up mental health is a suffering cat and its mental wound would never be healed unlike physical ones they can get in a fight against each other, for example.

Anyway, I don't see animal abuse in this video and it looks like the cat was just freaked out by the crab. Some cats tend to be huge cowards and this one is a kitten.

For those who want clarity regarding this Jeremy fellow:

Look, I can easily accept points from someone who I find detestable, if they're on point about something. For example, I personally despise TJ Kirk, aka TheAmazingAtheist, for his vile misogyny, rape apologia, and basic dismissal of feminism altogether. But at least he owns who he is and certainly called a spade a spade against Gregory Jackson/Daniel/Avaroe, better known as Onision, for all his "meat is murder" attacks, demonizing of people with mental health issues, and rating naked photos of underage girls on his forums. Same way with Repzion, who isn't remotely near what TJ is, but certainly is very misguided regarding feminism and launched ad hominem attacks that are pretty tasteless. But he too has Greg's number, especially after he went to slander Shane Dawson and lead the false allegations of pedophilia against him, purely because he has a longstanding vendetta against Shane and resents his continued success. The point being, that sometimes sworn enemies can be allies of convenience over certain issues and work together. But this Jeremy fellow doesn't apply to any of that.

I still remember what Jeremy said in attacking the She-Ra reboot, and calling her "manly" and "de-feminized", just because she doesn't have big tits, and even though the redesign actually makes her look even more feminine in her face. Or his pile of bullshit regarding Captain Marvel and continued twisting of what Brie Larson said in the first place, which was not remotely anti-man, but simply a message of "people who weren't there and haven't seen the movie yet can't tell me what is bad about yet, compared to someone who was there from the beginning." Not to mention how he, and various others like him, stated confidently that the movie would bomb, but never remotely offered a retraction or restatement when the movie became a massive box office success, because their argument was was completely destroyed. So they just pretend that it never existed, because the only alternative would be to state that Disney was buying massive numbers of tickets to its own movie to pad the coffers, an argument that they know would've been laughed off and dismissed because of how ridiculous it sounds. In addition, he tends to have very anti-female stances throughout his videos, from Star Wars to attacking the new Terminator film, the Doom Eternal manufactroversy, and so on. He's also made a lot of videos that clearly traffic in alt-right circles. If he isn't really a member of that group, he certainly is taking a great effort to pander to that audience and take advantage of how the YouTube algorithm overly emphasizes that group while penalizing those more left-of-center with demonitization, video removals, channel terminations and so on.

But I digress, because that has no real focus or emphasis on Randy and what he did. Regarding the recent video and tweet, I don't know if this is actually what it's been made out to be, and it's possible that there has been an overreaction simply because Randy is easy to hate, so now he doesn't even get a word in edgewise now.

It goes something like this.

Basically some lefty does a stupid thing.
Jeremy makes a video about it.
Lefties call Jeremy right-wing or even alt-right for mocking lefties.

It is honestly more like this:

The reboot of an old cartoon aimed at little girls makes her adolescent protagonist look and sound like an actual teenager.
Jeremy gets mad that he cannot fap to that.

Or even this:

Jeremy is a creeper and a bully.
Jeremy gets permanently banned from the Magic: The Gathering community for being a creeper and a bully.
Jeremy cries about "SJWs" ruining Magic: The Gathering.

I am no fan of Randy Pitchford, especially in light of his recent antics, but as Toxic34 said, Jeremy Hambly is just a hack who feeds on outrage; he is so trash that he almost makes Randy look good in comparison - much like his senpai Carl "Sargon of Akkad" Benjamin did with pretty much everyone he ends up feuding with, including literal neo-Nazi Richard Backpfeifengesicht Spencer.

@ Sledgehammer – OK. But still, if you give your children a pet, it is up to you to teach them that those are not toys! They are living, feeling animals.

the rest is just the opinion you're parroting from pat the nes douche - it's obvious you haven't watched anything of his on your own

this part is true - but not related to the video that was part of the reason getting him banned.

Wizards of the Coast had a purge after gamergate. My brother-in-law used to write D&D and table-top RPG modules for them - he also got purged from their employment, conventions & RPG.net for wrong-think.

Also, daily reminder that Richard Spencer is a planted political operative that is intended to promote globalism, Zionism, neo-conservatism, and the status quo under the thin veneer of white nationalism. He is Jewish (look up his family tree) and has an openly Zionist/globalist hyper left wing Jewish wife. Kinda makes it hard to be a Nazi.

He's not alt-right. He's not extreme right. He's a neo-conservative that exists precisely to coddle anyone who might have any extremist ideas.

As if the alt-right is even formidable opposition. The number of actual alt-right Americans is like 10,000, not 10 million.

"Alt-right" is just another made up world without actual meaning behind it. But anyway, controlled op is not an actual opposition. Its purpose is to make people delusional, that they actually have a choice and there are different sides. Though I think I gave it too much credit because it's not even controlled op, it's an imaginary op because "alt-right" does not exist outside of articles from bloggers who call themselves journalists. However, perhaps I said that mainly because I associate "alt-right" with so-called American conservatives who are left-wingers in disguise. Actual conservatism is not a meaningless buzzword outside of America, I would like if the term was taken back so it would mean actual conservatism globally and I hate what those cons turned it into.

I honestly wish people stopped using these terms to describe themselves and instead just talked about what they want to happen in the world. I lean right on some issues, lean left on others. I've called myself a socialist (partly just to provoke a discussion, which sometimes works, other times doesn't), but I get called alt right/far right/mossad agent/russian shill, etc. Left wingers hate the far right, right wingers hate zionists and I've been called both. It never has any bearing on my actual beliefs. But whatever, people can pick sides and fight imaginary demons if they want. I've lost interest in debating on the internet.

No one calls themselves alt-right. It's a smear word created by establishment neo-conservatives about ten years ago, but didn't come into real usage until five years ago. It purely exists to corner anyone who doesn't follow neo-conservative orders.

I agree it's a smear word now, but I guess not everyone caught on immediately. Some people I've talked to used it to describe their beliefs. My point is more so that people should generally refrain from using abstractions that mean different things to different people, or at least define the terms they use before debating each other. I've had to realize half way into a discussion that someone completely misunderstood my point just because they had a weird idea about some term I used. Or people get triggered, which stops everything. Anyway, fuck neocons.

Everyone has a different definition of alt-right. The "new right" defines it as someone who is white nationalist but follows e-celebs instead of actual conspiracy research. These are the sorts of people who would rather stream The Daily Shoah for two hours at a time instead of spending two hours thinking for themselves.

I guess you could also add dipshit Neo Nazis who preach "new school" statistics in "old school" meatspace, covered in regalia, with no concept of optics.

All races and cultures have a right to exist in their own countries, if they so desire. They also need to stick up for each other, regardless. Syria and Libya had a right to exist. Anyone who didn't stick up for that right, because they were Muslim countries, signed their own death warrant.
