buildlic.txt in a nutshell, basically free ports/games are fine, commercial build games Ken gets a cut.

The ninjas were not intended to have glowing eyes, therefore they should not have glowing eyes.

The glowing eyes are mostly there for "hey the engine can do glow". Aside from that, I would argue the Ninja's don't look human(look at the teeth). The Ninjas also have red eyes. They look demonic to me at least, and glowing red eyes fits well with a demonic creature.

Yeah, I know. But I was asking the reason really. I just wish it would be made GPL at some point.

Are they glowing because you have made a special case out of them, or are they glowing because you have made all pixels of that color into glowing pixels?

I made a bunch of glow maps that look like the attached file. The glow map is put into the gbuffer. Then during the glow pass it samples from the glow map part of the gbuffer. Any pixels that aren't 0,0,0 in the glow map get processed.

Well then why not just include the glowmaps as part of an add-on graphical enhancement pack?

I'm actually hoping someone on here goes in and replaces every bit of content I make for PolymerNG. When PolymerNG ships every bit of content I make can be turned off. For the next test I release, you won't be able to turn off my fantastic content, only because I want performance and visual feedback. However the next test will include a "SDK" release. It will come with modified projects so everything compiles out of the box without requiring Windows 10. It will come with the mesh builder and the texture payload tools. With this release I'm hoping someone who also likes SW will go in and do a full art pass on SW.

I forgot where I were read about Ken didn't like some of GPL rules so he made his own license(BUILDLIC) and I don't think Ken would ever reconsider about this...

Today I am releasing the beta build for Test 2. This build is a Shadow Warrior build, and does require a controller hooked up to play. The final build for test 2 will include mouse and keyboard support, but due to circumstance I needed to get out a build; and I figured I would share it. Source code will be out tomorrow.

RELEASE NOTES:
PolymerNG Public Test 2

Shadow Warrior

INSTRUCTIONS:
----------------------
1) Copy your SW.GRP to SW_Test/Assets/SWData
2) Run ShadowWarrior.exe

CONTROLS
----------------------
Xbox One Controller
RT -> FIRE
RB/LB -> SWITCH WEAPONS
A -> JUMP
B -> CROUTCH
Y -> USE/OPEN

KNOWN ISSUES:
----------------------
God Mode is enabled.
Some bump maps look noisey.
Keyboard and Mouse support are broken, you have to use a XBOX One or XBOX 360 Controller.
Trying to exit the level causes a crash.
Trying to exit the game can cause a hang, you might need to CTRL-ALT-DELETE out of the build.
Some voxels are rotated the wrong direction or don't display at all. These are mostly keycards and switches. Just use the Y button by were the switch is to use.

PATCH 1 has been released. Please go to the next page for the download link.

What's up with the fence on the sidewalk of the subway track? I understand you want to showcase the fancy lights, but when I play this map I always walk on that sidewalk and I'd be pissed if gameplay possibilities were taken away from me just to show fancy lights.

The fence is there to show off tech. Originally I was going to have ceiling lights with a sprite fence above, so shadows would fall on to the tracks from the ceiling. Adding sectors to that area caused the train to break. I'm hoping someone else who has lighting skills goes in and properly lights that map :P, then it won't be an issue.

I do and I'm used to using it for shooters (although I have never used it for Duke 3D because the controller support isn't good enough).

It's cool, but it's that dark that you cant see anything in the shadows. Also, the screen defaults to being too bid and the menu dosen't allow me to change it.

How do you turn on the frame rate display?

Also, playing with a FPS with a controller sucks balls. How the fuck did Halo get so popular?

Since mouse and keyboard input isn't working, I assume you can't do that right now.

I've played it with a controller. Nice art design, but trying to kill critters while you move around like you are having grand mal sucks.

It saved me the time of having to find my own version Posted Image It's free on steam anyway so it's not the ultimate disaster.

I just tried it out. What kind of details are you after? I can't see a framerate counter on the screen and couldn't figure out how to switch it on. The menu and HUD are kind of cut-off on the screen too.
Other issues is that while the ROR pool looks really good from above, it looks pretty broken from below. When I got out of the water the enemies were flicking, being invisible for a few seconds and having an opaque shadow sprite with the glowing eyes on them. I pressed F12 in game to take some screenshots but I can't find them. Is that feature not working?

Something I think would look cool is if when that car with the alarm by Lo Wang's dojo cast headlights when they flick open.

And yeah, it's pitch black in the majority of non-lit areas when there should be some kind of ambient background light.

Ah, so the screenshots seem to be bugged then since I wasn't able to find the ones I took either. I got a laugh out of the area with the fan but the fan not actually being rendered.

That answer and reasoning is somewhat strange since his license, simply put, contradicts GPL.

I can't believe I included the SW.GRP file. A hotfix will be released today to fix the ambient bug, and fix Windows 7. F12 screenshot is broken, I use print screen into MSPAINT. I released this now so I could get feedback from you guys before I include it as part of my portfolio. I will also enable the framerate counter by default.

So basically what I got is:
  • Ambient is too dark.
  • Missing fan(don't care about that now).
  • Refraction under the pool is broken(this is known).
  • Windows 7 is busted.

Anything else?

the occasional piece of missing geometry. I'll post a screenshot tomorrow morning if nobody else does by then.

The tv screen texture with the guy being whipped seemed to be half filtered, half unfiltered.

The model props in the dojo seemed to be randomly affected by the blue tinge.
