Why not Bombshell ?

Since I finished Shadow Warrior 2, a dialogue is coming to my mind :

Because prequel hasn't been released yet.

Prequel you mean ?

Actually, I meant a cameo of Bombshell in SW2

Two reasons:

1. All the characters they mentioned are from classic games from the late 90's, around the time Sam was created and loosely based on. Bombshell only came into actual existence recently.
2. Bombshell the game did very, very, very badly. Both in terms of sales and in critical and public reception.

It'd be insane to choose her over the others.

I don't remember Bombshell got so bad sales or public reception...

Yeah, forgot that it's prequel, gotta edit the post.

Well, I wanted to add that the first game was meh and Bomshell herself is pretty bland (I now regret they didn't go with Duke Forever design, short haired blond one was pretty hot). Micky C nailed it pretty well.

And if you don't give a fuck about "journalists" then of course you don't remember it, they just destroyed it with no mercy, check Bombshell thread if you want to see some examples. Prequel is the only hope left for her right now and I have no doubt that it will be good, better than modern FPS games for sure, even if retards from press going to bash it again. Duke4 guys who work on it are just like Sonic Mania team who know how to do things right and they love Duke like no one else here does. If prequel going to be successful, she might become memorable and established character. I just hope the guys have good writers too on their team, she definitely need more charisma.

Shadow Warrior 2 is doing a limited edition physical release; it looks like the Polish physical version but in English. It is limited to 5,000 copies.
You have to pre order it from Devolver Digital's website.

I'd rather buy the cheaper Polish version that the expensive one they are pushing.

The PL version doesn't have the weird shaped box and the previous games in the series. It has, however, poster and costs about 25$, so lol ;)
Not sure if the key isn't region-locked, tho

As Winona Ryder always say : "Never read/trust/believe the press !"

SW2 has been updated and apparently they got rid of the lvl96 limit, among other things.

Still waiting on the new challenges they promised to make use of the orbs though?

I've just "discovered" the sound crackling issue with SWP on newer systems, and started to search for a viable alternative port. A good while ago I tried JFShadowWarrior but I remember there were some problems with saved games or something. However Googling a bit I discovered the JFSW code on GitHub, and it seems there have been some (relatively) recent updates to the port made by JonoF:
https://github.com/jonof/jfsw

The readme suggests that the latest version is from March 2013, as opposed to the old October 2005 build from JonoF's site. However GitHub doesn't have any compiled binaries available. Can those be found elsewhere? Also is there any further development going on currently?

Don't my SWP updates fix the sound crackle?

Duh, I vaguely remember there were posts about SWP updates here more or less recently but I failed to find them  I also seem to have entirely missed the new version at the Shadow Warrior Central, somehow. Probably because the older versions all have file downloads while the latest beta just a link to GitHub. Heh.

Because there is a download on Github. https://github.com/H...66/SWP/releases

I left it just a link to Hendricks' github in case he made more updates when I wasn't looking.
I'll probably put an actual download there sometime in the future.

Admittedly I checked out your site during a quick break at work, so my attention wasn't fully focussed, but you might still want to change the font colour you use for the different release entries to something better contrasting with the background. The current dark red colour doesn't really stand out.

Anyways, do you guys know what new stuff was added to the most recent JFSW version? Also I briefly checked the 2005 build of JFSW and it didn't want to work for me at all either with shareware or registered GRPs with an "Art not found" error message. IIRC I had no problems of this kind when I was running the same port on Win98/WinXP.

Not to completely talk out of my ass, but as I recall JFduke is fairly finnicky about which direction you put it in.

When they asked who people wanted a cameo of and Duke won the poll, this isn't exactly what I had in mind...

I expect Lo Wang and Duke Nukem facing the ancient godess Ameonna at the end :

Duke Nukem : "I am gonna reap your head you fucking spider-monkey bitch !"

After the fight :

Duke Nukem : "Sorry, but it's was for your good !"

Slow down, take your time... treat SWC like a fine woman and sensually explore every part.
