Nah, but they did say something about the recording quality but IIRC that's because Sgt. Mark IV boosted the volume of the voices so much it damaged the quality of the sound files (From what I remember) Hence why I avoided doing that here (Originally the music in the first briefing map played over the voice-overs, but I realized it drowned it out so I created a muffled version of the music which the game plays when it switches to the chopper - this didn't drown out your voice files and also sounded a bit cooler anyway like it was actually being played via loud speaker) I also opted to leave the first couple of lines unfiltered - ordinarily I remove the bass for radio lines (which sounds convincing and hides the flaws in our recordings) but I felt the video comm link that Graves used offered better audio quality :D

When you get to the later enemies you voiced, I opted to make their speech have a much wider radius than normal sounds so they can still be heard without making the sounds too loud. Hopefully you're happy with how they work ingame (personally it made them 10x more interesting to fight because they actually had a personality with the new voice overs)

First wanted to say it looks good the weapons, enemies, and maps are looking good the mod as a full is really nice good job. It is clean and a solid release but I just started today I am a spoiler so I went through the enemies and weapons through mapster but not the maps didn't spoil them yet heheh. So there's a lot more to go but first reaction I like this I even played as one of you guys in one of my maps not going to say who heheh was funny and maybe can be Hungry Octa pt.2 video hehe joking.

I really liked this mapping right here I know it's the start but it's very good terrain outdoor work and starting here was a good impression on me right away took a screenshot.

That track is so damn quiet that until I read that post I believed that you simply stopped the music when doing the inside-the-chopper scenes. Having another listen you can hear something incredibly faint in the background. Maybe raise the volume just a touch?

Micky; the volume's at the right level I think, any higher and it would risk drowning out ZXD's dialogue as Graves.

A friend who's decided to try out the mod reminded me of an oddity that's been around since episode 1: nobody has reflections in the mirrors at AMC HQ.

I just checked out 3 mirrors, and I can see my reflection in all of them. I don't know what mirror you're talking about but it's possible that some TROR might stop sprites from appearing in mirrors, which is an engine problem.

Does it happen for you as well? The only times I've seen that occur is in polymost mode, in classic mode the reflections have always appeared for me. I just went ingame, and sure enough in classic the reflection shows up fine but in polymost there is no reflection.

I think it may be a bug related to animatesprites that only appears in polymost mode? I'm not too sure, I can only postulate at the nature of it heh. In anycase none of the AMC Team are vampires :D

Huh, sure enough, they work for me now. I'd told him to set it to the classic renderer but I guess he must not have done that.

The funny thing is if I were to code a player or an enemy to not show up in mirrors (for Vampiric reasons or other) than pretty much everybody would think "oh there's a bug" instead of "oh shit he's a vampire!" heh heh.

There is a message on the main menu that says to set it to classic mode if the player's in a different render mode, I didn't want to put a message onscreen in-game though since I felt that would be too obnoxious (even if they do break the TC's visuals)

Anybody bought the vehicle test site yet?

I tried to buy the vehicle test site, but it doesnt let me. Also, I noticed that the Golden Lighter doesnt show up as an artifact anymore, I hope rusty still has it then because I swapped it with the "book of Nails". Also, if you have not slected a knife in the loudout screen and try to attack using the Melee button, the animation is played but but there is no knife texture (looks like a brick texture/placeholder texture) and you dont do any damage.

Can you show me a picture of the golden lighter not showing up as an artifact? I just checked ingame and it's still showing up fine on the artifacts screen. Also for the test site you need 20k budget and 30 supply, have you got those to purchase it? I'll look into the knife issue as well, cheers.

Okay here are the screens for your verification. As you can see, Rusty has the Golden Lighter that I gave him in episode 1, but the Lighter itself does not seem to be listed among the Artifacts. I have no idea why.

Hmm, it looks like the items you found haven't been carried forward. If you replay providence the golden lighter will most likely be in the basement again.

Well, I didnt found everything yet anyway, there are still empty temp weapons slots as well as weapons for the agents. Also, everything else carried over, but I wonder why the lighter didnt carry over. Can someone not just give me the cfg file where all is unlocked?

Edit: some other observation: I went into the Mission select screen and played the Episode 1 debriefing and it said that the monster and Lilith where dead, but I saved Lilith at the end of Episode 1, should that not carry over?

Edit 2: seems like I cant buy the EDF Plasma gun from the arms dealer even if I have enough money.

Ok a bug I found that applies to all weapons that reload with a magazine system. (Like Shotguns) I can't use prev/next weapon switch to switch to them if they have 0 ammo but have some magazines still. I need to use manual slot keys to access them. Probably some limitation of the engine but could use being fixed if possible.

Set cl_weaponswitch to 0 in the console...they removed that option from the options menu so unfortunately it has to be done via console.

Have you definitely copied your eduke32.cfg file over from episode 1? I need to port all config save files into arrays since they're more secure but this'll take time unfortunately.

How far are you guys into Ep2? we're curious how people are feeling the later parts of the episode.

Yes I copied the eduke32.cfg file from episode 1 into episode 2 as I was told to. Well, why not give me your episode 1 cfg to test what the problem might be? I am not far, because of the bug with the long-jump not working and currently waiting it to get fixed/patched, so I play usermaps. Speaking of, I went into the debriefing sequence after playing a usermap, could that be the issue?

Just skip the Oil-rig level and carry on with the episode, because who knows how long you might have to wait till the issue may be fixed.

Since this topic has become cluttered with bugs, and not much discussion about the actual TC is going on. I'm welcoming bug reports of course but here I'm more interested in hearing about gameplay or story comments/criticisms/questions.

I've enjoyed episode 2 so far, I have unlocked Tower of Life IIRC was the name of it, then decided to finish E1 stuff again for techs. So far I like it, but the enemy behavior feels kinda weird, like, unusually jittery. Smoother movement could probably help here. (Especially when their bodies keep moving while they die, that's really odd)

heh, I think that's one thing we'll have to differ on a bit as I laughed like mad when I shot an enemy and he promptly fell off of the building he was on and went splat in front of me - I can see how it might seem a bit off-putting when you compare to vanilla Duke enemy behavior. I do prefer it this way myself though since unloading a shotgun into an enemy produces an over-dramatic effect but helps makes guns feel powerful.

Realistically enemies would have momentum after being shot, causing them to fly backwards. Although they also tend to bounce around off walls which is somewhat less realistic. Plus if you look at it in slow motion it's almost as if they're making discrete jumps rather than a smooth continuous movement.

Sounds like people still haven't finished the Episode yet. Guess the episode might be longer than we anticipated.

I'm misunderstood, I meant how they retain their original momentum after being shot, even by a pistol. They bounce off walls because of this (Or even slide by walls)! That kinda looks weird to be honest. Just to clarify once again, the knockback from the weapons is fine.

The rippers also seem to bang their chest way too often instead of charging, is this intended? They are mostly very harmless.

I'll have to add in some more stuff to the rippers, it's set to the lowest probability for them to beat their chests but they still do it too frequently.

Well played through "Tower of life" and the Neather Realm. I liked those levels. I agree with that the boss fight in the Neather real was easier then the Mecha boss fight that came before it. Now I am stuck in the EDF mission "The Beach", seems like I need to shrink myself to get into the Supermarket, but I dont have a shrinking ring or a mini shrink ray. So far I like the variation of gameplay and such, but I have to say that the first few levels are a bit too big for my taste, because I often didnt knew where to go, I bet I missed a lot of important stuff because of how huge the levels where, have to replay them again. I did get lost at one point in "temple of life" because I could not find the door with the Red Keyhole, I ran bloody past it.

I like the new weapons, the new Shotgun for James sure is neat, same with the LR300, but I am not sure if another rifle like that is even a good idea, seeing as he already has the M4/Master Key combination. I would think that James should get something like the MK46 or Mk48 LMGs instead of another rifle or maybe some advanced stuff. bought the vehicle testing range, not bad, but no idea what it is really useful for. Also, I am not sure, but airdrop didnt seem to work in the tower of life map, I guess I didnt press the right button. Have yet to test out Mickys new weapons that I bought as well as the ones for Sang. Haywire and the others dont have any new weapons yet it seems, at least the arms dealer has nothing new. Still stuck at tech level 8, no idea how to advance.

Also, some observations: during the cut scene where you are going to the island facility. Mikko talks to Zxantor about Madagascar and mentions how sorry he is about the destruction, that strikes me a bit odd, seeing as Mikko was this crazy Social Drawinist in the first game where he exclaimed how the weak shall fear his fury and how he is the tool of natural selection and during a phone conversation he mentions that he and Haywire argued about power and what should it be used for and how they where total opposites, with Mikko even stating he thinks giving power to the people is a waste of time and effort. Guess Mikko mellowed out since episode 1 or something else happened that changed his mind.

Ok, I think I found the worst map of the new release. It's Zaxtor's map. I absolutely hated playing it, not a single moment of joy. The only reason I didn't abort was that I was too lazy to fix that PDA issue by using New Game. I'd also like to know what the "Book of Viridi" and that "Soul Shawl" something do. They aren't documented in the wiki. (Although I think that book heals you if you move through plants or something? I decided to equip Zaxtor with it and I had green flashes and healing throughout, which helped a lot). I also hated the fact that as soon as I entered the base my custom weapons were all gone. (The gold shotgun, for instance, would have helped me so much more against the supernatural enemies there...)
