Interesting that we still haven't had official confirmation from anyone. I'm reserving 0.5% of hope that this is all an incredibly mean publicity stunt (it's sure as hell drummed up interest in DNF) while keeping a level head with my remaining 99.5%.

So 2K now holds the rights on DNF?! or what?!
So they can get a team on it and finish it?! Why not get all the ex-3DR guys on a new 2K DNF team.

They only own the publishing rights, which means its unlikely they own the final product. Though their arrangement with 3DR may stipulate just what 2K can do when something like this occurs.
Which gets me thinking, if it is financial difficulties, surely someone at 3DR would have gone around looking for investment. I'd imagine, if it was fairly close to being finished, there'd be money out there...

Yes, I completely agree. And also, why has George been making posts on Twitter that are normal, and seem to show that he has been confident up to this point about the game? How could the company instantly run out of money? I'm sorry, but I just don't think I can accept this.

Makes sense, but then again we are all in denial considering just how long we've anxiously waited, and how close we've come. When the official statement is released, then we can relax or panic.

What I found funny is that someone replied to the 3DRealms thread with "I wonder if Rockman killed himself"

I still have the "Christmas paper" wallpaper on my computer... I was just rocking the Duke Nukem Music to Score By soundtrack earlier, I use the DN3D mousepad, and just beat DN3D XBLA again...

I don't really know what to think about this yet, but if it's all true and 3D Realms has just vanished and taken the dream of DNF along with it, with no warning, no explanation, and no excuse, then I am not going to be very MOTHER FUCKING HAPPY WITH THIS SHIT.

I'm truely saddened to hear this. All this time on Duke 4 ad 3DR over the years, waiting for a game that is it seems is to be never released, all the fucking neysayers were right, bastards!!
