1. If you live in the area where 3drealms is, please.. STOP COUNTING THE %#^@! CARS!!! You're practically admitting you're a stalker! Jeez, let the people that remain at 3drealms do their jobs without detailing their every movement. The company is gone, which brings me to ...
As I've said, I drive past the location all the time on the way to the highway. I mentioned the number of cars one time and a couple of people were interested. I don't think it's "detailing their every movement," since I have no idea what they are doing and would offer no insight into that even if I had it. Some thought I was trying to say the cars proved it was a conspiracy, but I never thought it was.
What isn't really known is that this all sort of has basis in a joke from a number of years ago. I was talking to Joe about living in the area, and somebody said, "Drive by and tell us how many cars are there. We want to know they're really working on the game." I never did it and wouldn't have done it while they were a going concern, since I wasn't going to give ammunition to either side ("Duke is never coming out"; "Duke will be done when it's done") when we would have no idea why there were few people on one day and a lot of people on another. They were also pretty uptight about people knowing their location, which is no longer a concern (though, I still haven't given the address and wouldn't while there are still employees there).
Ultimately, I don't think there's any harm in a car count. For me, as someone who has continued to be proud and amazed to live right near where fantastic games like Duke Nukem 3D were made, it's been a sad, tangible indicator of that entity dying. I wish George would get a big infusion of capital and the parking lot would be filled to the brim, but that's not happening.
A couple of guys have been interested in knowing what things will look like over there on Monday. Don't ask for it and we can let this topic die, which I tried to do on Friday anyway. I will PM the couple of you who have asked.
