I noticed this issue as well. The problem is that, people who are unaware of the touchplate (=everybody, since it's very random and in an unlikely placement), may find the door locked and have no idea why, and that even if the card has already been used (which is possible in coop or deathmatch).

In other words, they'd be stuck with no way to get in, and a switch on the other side is not enough if you want to fix this completely.

The switch I put on the other side of the door is another keycard switch, so there shouldn't be a problem with it now. I did that in every map that had a spawn point on the other side of a keycard door. Yeah, I could have added a regular pal 1 switch instead and set the activator to unlock only once, but I thought it would look better and be better to just have another keycard switch. That's what was done in the main Duke3D levels and I was going by what they did. It's a small visual difference in Single Player, but it doesn't change gameplay.

The game still hasn't updated yet, but it's probably a good thing since there were those few, final touches that needed to be made. I just went back and checked Mr. Splashy's (VACA3.map) and it needed a few Dukematch switches added to improve the flow of the map. The doors I added them to already had switches to open them, but they were a long distance away. Now, the doors have switches near them on both sides. It's better that way because another player could flip the distant switch you just flipped and close the door back by the time you get to it.

I'm hoping this will be the final update that will have to be made to the maps. Crossing my fingers. It is 30 maps total, though, so it's not impossible for a bug or something that hasn't been discovered yet by a player to show up. Any future discoveries will probably just be things the creators of the maps missed or did/didn't do. I cleaned up quite a bit of their mistakes already, though. I'd say if nothing else is found after this, the maps are ready to go. :)

I think we should do some duke matches on that eps even the dm maps of it like what we did on Winter maps. hope those videos come out good

Since the update hasn't happened yet, I fixed a few visual glitches on some swinging doors. One was in Mr. Splashy's (VACA3.map), one in Where it All Began (E2L2.map), and one in Santa's Corporate HQ (E2L4.map).

That was one of them I fixed. I noticed that a while back when I first started working on the maps, I just never bothered to fix it. The one in Santa's Corporate HQ was the worst. One whole side of the door was overlapping another sector. That's probably why it was swinging the opposite direction at times, too.

Yeah, everything is fixed now. The Critical Mass fix was even included. Edit: Nevermind what I said about VACADM1.map. I thought raising the sectors changed how the skybox looks, but I was wrong. I tried the old map and it's doing the same thing now. It must've been something in the update that changed how it's viewed. I don't know what's up with it.

Oh, the door fixes in It's Impossible and Duke-Burger weren't added, but that's ok I guess. It's not that serious unless a player discovers it and wants to be an ass.

-Patching the skybox texture so that it doesn't look disgusting anymore.
-Elevated the ceiling so fire fights are easier to maneuver around.

To Hendricks: There are still players on PC that will occasionally play the maps. Whether they are AAA or D-, people will still play it. I'm only turning that D- map into a C+.

To Lunick: I think I have a right to touch the maps, considering you or termit never did. You left that to Dave, Rose and Grump. Dave edited the maps while the other 2 found glitches (And might I add, did a great job at it). Dave forgot to fix that map, so I did him a favor. You really need to stop bugging out on me dude. Find someone else to harass, seriously! Just because you are a moderator on Megaton, doesn't mean that you are god of Duke4.net. PLEASE for the love of god RELAX!!!

I'm not a game developer nor do I know how to use Mapster fully. The first ever Duke map I made accidentally turned the whole sector into a crushing room and then I quit

Hendricks was going to setup the maps for Multiplayer but there was a deadline that couldn't be extended anymore so another route had to be taken. I appreciate Dave's work in setting up Nuclear Winter's maps for multiplayer usage but, some of his other fixes weren't really classified as multiplayer stuff.

I am well aware what an update is. It was also well known that the Multiplayer was taking far too long for Megaton and when it was shipped, the addons didn't have multiplayer so there was a rush to get them compatible too.

I am not quite sure where you got the 'despise' from (you are well heading that way now though) but I have always tried to be helpful with all the Steam users where I can, especially where people kept downvoting your maps.

I was only going to fix the start points from code. Dave did a lot more to make the maps playable.

BTW Zerg, the "deadline" was one imposed on General Arcade by Devolver Digital.
