And if I had to make a wild guess, I'd speculate that the RPG's altfire was a Grenade launcher.

I still like the original idea and design of the plasma gun and the larger RPG. LameDuke probably has the art assets to recreate that plasma gun, the HUD sprite and the pickup sprite and the projectile and impact sprites and all that. Then it would just be a matter of programming it to act like the original.
Interesting that Duke originally had a jump sound... Blood still has one, but it's quieter than the first one they were using.

Sorry, I'm limited to recording with a PAS16 at the moment, so this is the best I can do. Even if I could do better I wouldn't put myself out over it given half of you would just ignore it and wait for someone else to do the exact same thing, these are only here as I was uploading them for someone else anyway.
Super Fnord is my favorite, but the beginning doesn't play right, seems to bombard my SC with a few too many FX events, it actually causes the host Pentium (66MHz) to slow down a little there too.

I offered somebody a "Shadow Warrior beta" once, which was just a gutted Wolf3D demo with faked screenshots made with SW beta assets and ECWolf, in exchange for a Serious Sam alpha they supposedly had.
Hilariously, the Serious Sam alpha actually turned out to be legitimate.

The only soundtrack that existed for it is Lee's.

That's an awesome track!
BTW, I think you guys mentioned that the build of ROTT with female versions of certain guards was still available somewhere. IIRC this feature was dropped from the game because it could not be optimized to work on 4 meg machines or something. I suppose that such constraints no longer apply these days, so theoretically a new build of the game with alternate guards could be created?
On a completely different (but still related) note, did you come across any of the promotional materials like official vendor screenshots for Apogee/3DR games (like the ones mentioned here)? Many of them were converted to JPEG in some not very good quality (like with Duke Nukem or Commander Keen IV). I wonder if the original PCX or GIF images still exist somewhere? I'm particularly interested in screenshots from Planet Strike, Keen: Oracle, Death Rally, Secret Agent and Rise of the Triad/Extreme ROTT.

On one hand, I wanna tell you it's bad to trick people like that, but on the other hand, it's pretty hilarious.

That's really interesting if true, I've only ever seen the video that's on youtube.

No, for the same reason as the WDW midi. Though we do have the map files used to make some of the Duke 3D bullshots.
