I would like to try and make a side scroll mod for eduke32 but i'm not the best at coding, so I was hoping to find a mod to use as a example. Anyone know of a mod that's a side scroller or if a mod like that can be done at all?

Are there any side scroll mods for Eduke32?

It can be done. High Treason started one but I don't think it was finished or anything released.

I tried my hand at this some time ago.

Interesting... in a Duke Manhattan kind of way.
How difficult would it be to add two toggle buttons to enable slightly forward/isometric view of the camera like Duke Nuke: Critical Mass did on the DS with the shoulder buttons?

I still work on this one occasionally, I think I posted elsewhere that the major issue was that I have no idea how to make the camera rotate if the player turns corners as I wanted the player to be able to walk around corners in some places.

I could turn the camera yet I couldn't get the player to face a different direction correctly. lol

I see... my first thought was to move the order of the frames around to cause the default view to be 90, then move the frame for +45deg to the -45 position etc. This concept was based on my perception of how it (original code) might work and is not thought out beyond reaction. The only reason I even thought about it was I had seen that the location of the Camera was controllable/programmable based on Demo recording etc. Your efforts and video demonstrated the concept I was thinking of though I don't know how it actually works from a programming standpoint.
I have not used Build since a year or two after Duke 3D came out and I have never looked at the source code for Duke 3D or eDuke.
If I had more time I would loved to have been involved in the modifications and porting of Duke Nukem. My software engineering has never involved games however.
Thanks for the reply.

So are there any download to the two projects I see here or just video's of what you have done?
