That nightmare Imp looks cool! Also it seems the Mancubus are in the Tower of Babel level in those screenshots.

Not much longer now until we finally see the new Doom in action. I'm really really really hoping its not just a trailer and is some actual gameplay with a multiplayer reveal announced for Quakecon as well as the beta release date followed by the full game release date.
Please don't be some 1-2 year release window.

What I'm working on for Doom. MrRumbleRoses made a trailer:

But that version in the video is outdated.

It will be available for both G/ZDoom and Zandronum.

I recently added Total Meltdown exclusive enemies.

Now I'm waiting for DN3D beta(s) enemy assets.

#IWantThoseOfficialSnakeHeadSprites

But custom enemy sprites made by the community would be nice too.

There is no forum link about my project.

Less than 24 hours now
I feel as excited as I did when I first saw Doom 3, and I was like 12 when that happened.

Is that a new production, or why haven't I seen or heard of it before 2015?

I have been drooling over that diorama/statue thingy since they came out... that looks SO freakin great... but I got the Duke Nukem Forever statue instead. Maybe next year. :(

Thanks for the images. :)

I am so disappointed in what I just saw.

Edit: Doom Snapmap is great though.

It looks so generic. Solid, but generic.
Snapmap sounds amazing

Its like a much more advanced Timesplitters editor that allows you to even make coop maps and your own game modes.

Spring 2016 release, thats soon

Good
Levels looked rather spacious, especially compared to Doom 3. Still linear, though the hell part especially was really wide open
Lots of enemies
Everything is so fast! Really fast
Snapmap looks incredible
The textures look rather crisp; not ground breaking, but crisp.

Bad
The gore got old really quick already
The weapons look the same; the shotgun and plasmagun looked too similar.
Also, I didn't even think it was the plasmagun until the text popped on the screen
The enemies also look very similar. If those were imps that were in the gameplay, it looked like they had the exact same heads as the zombies and the hellknights.
They showed off like every weapon in the weapon wheel; I really hope theres more in surprise
Parts of it looked so generic. With the exception of the mancubus and revenant, it looked like it'd be in any other game, especially the doom marine armor.

Just because all shooters copied Doom back then, it doesn't mean Doom has to copy all shooters. At least it didn't failed in being Doom.

What the hell do you people want from Doom? People moaned when it was said it was too much like Call of Duty and less Doom now it's more Doom and people are moaning it looks too brown or "generic"

There is no pleasing people.

Because it doesn't completely look like Doom, it looks like a generic shooter still.
Instead of Call of Doom, we have what looks like HaloDoom or DestinyDoom.

Parts of it looks good like I said, the Mancubus and Revenant look like proper Doom. Everything else blended together.
The Doom 3 weapons look better and more iconic than this Doom's weapons.

It still looks solid. Just a bit disappointing.

*edit* The new super shotgun looks a lot better than Doom 3's though
Also, interesting tidbit, the chainsaw has an ammo counter.

*edit edit* New trailer

Looks great. Gameplay is fast, graphics are detailed and stunning.

That monster in the end was fucking badass.

Biggest thing, though, the demons look cool as opposed to disturbing like in Doom 3. Some of the stuff in Doom 3 almost made me puke.

http://www.dsogaming...shots-released/ Hi-res screenshots make the game look a whole lot better compared to the videos. Gameplay still doesn't interest me at all though.

The Cacodemons look pretty sweet in those. Just a shame about the other enemies.
Also, the first video shown off is apparently the second level in the game, though obviously all the weapons won't be sitting around like they were.
Here's the two gameplay sections ripped from the presentation until a higher-res non-crowd-noise version gets uploaded.

Something I noticed, there's no pistol shown off nor is it in the weapon wheel. I wonder if this is like Quake in that the starting weapon is just a shotgun. I also wonder if there's even a melee weapon besides the chainsaw?

That was one of my favorite things about "Doom 3." There were things sickening and just downright revolting. When dealing with Hell, I think it's appropriate for things to be as vile as possible.

That's just my view, of course.

It looks good and all but other than the Revenant and Mancubus and the boss, I don't really dig the other enemies' designs. The Imp and Hellknight reminds me of their Doom 3 counterparts. Looks like the Revenant is the mascot monster for this new DOOM, like how the Hellknight was for Doom 3.

Also, the game is set on Mars again? What a bummer. The tech base looks a lot more better than in Doom 3, but I was really hoping for Earth.

The mapmaking feature looked awesome. Movement speed is faster than Doom 3, but the game still feels slow. The weak shotgun with a huge crosshair that slowly, imprecisely pans across smoothed-over glossy levels in a floaty fashion doesn't grab me, but the chaingun which rips and tears through hordes of enemies looks fun. Unfortunately, all the cool shooting is frequently interrupted by canned two-second QTE cutscenes of brutal melee attacks. There's never more than six enemies on screen. Lame weapon pickup cutscenes. Visuals, apart from the turdy brownness of hell, look suitably next-gen, and feature way better lighting than recent id tech engine games. Visual diaries (like the ghosts in SS2) are fine. Happy there not focusing on storytelling. Lots of gore, but not a lot of enemy feedback or reactions when getting shot. Overall, it's a super scripted E3 demo. If the finishing moves are a requirement for getting ammo and health back, I can see that getting old. I hope they're dead in that state, and they the don't come back to life if you don't finish 'em off with a QTE.

Weapons are terrible. I like how they work, but they look like shit.
Too much death animations (specially with the chainsaw). I guess it's only for the show, because it would get boring quickly.
The color code is very ugly. In general, the game is too grey and brown, but full of vivid stuff which offend the eyes. That is to say, in spite of the powerful technics used, it looks quite bad.
Adding things from Brutal Doom and Serious Sam 3 was something many asked, so I like where it is going. It's not all I wanted, but I think it will be good.

Yeah, it was quite a while ago when they announced it. I actually preordered it in March 2014 and it was meant to be produced in Q3 2014, but the date kept getting pushed back by Gaming Heads. It's good to finally see it. :)

Mr.BlackCat

I have the DNF statue but I think this looks better of the two. There is also a limited one that lights up from the base, but this is the standard one. I'm a bit disappointed that I have already broken something off of it already. :D Now to go hunting and see if I can find the missing piece.

Ps. You're welcome for the images. If I get a chance I'll try and upload some more closeup shots.
